Well gee whiz…a corporation that uses evaluation reports and can only give maximum points to a select few….welcome to the real world. Most of us have been dealing with that for decades because most corporations do JUST THAT. Want to get rated higher? Perform better. Demoralized? It happens. It’s called self-discipline, intestinal fortitude, initiative, motivation, and learning. Upset about losing your work from home status? Congratulations. Three companies I’ve represented for 5+ years ENDED work from home over 18 months ago. What do they have a bunch of 23 year olds fresh out of college and they’re mad they aren’t getting a pay on the back for working eight hours a day? Jesus Christ. GROW UP. Welcome to the real world. That’s why it’s called “work”, and that’s why you’re getting paid to do it.
Can WoW players stop acting like they have a doctorate in business management? Jfc it's cringe seeing this stuff constantly, oh no a company had a Q&A with completely REASONABLE things. Back to office is expected, expecting be able to camp out at coffee shops and in pajamas at home for your entire working career is ridiculous. This constant "outrage" over this just shows how little players have been in the workforce.
Between this and the community going spreadhsheet crazy this xpack, glad I unsubbed yesterday. Going back to not giving them money.
Lol the comments in this post are wild, didn't know there were so many boomers playing wow. "I hate my job so everyone else should hate theirs too!" God forbid we change toxic management strategies.
ITT: Metric ton of jealous boomers and people who defend multi-billion dollar corporations. It's insane, this company has been !@#$ing customers and employees (sometimes literally) for years and people RUSH to their side telling the actual people who make and play the game they're wrong about what works best for making WoW.This was a very terrible meeting for them on all fronts, I 100% expect them to walk back most of these. I almost think they did this to start negotiations on their side of the table. Look how nice and benevolent we are, we will allow you 75% profit sharing, and 2 days WFO. Blizzard already underpays their employees; they are absolutely going to have a brain drain after this. I personally stand behind you Blizzard employees, do whatever you have to do.
It's time to can people. Lazy people are lazy people. And the guy who was giving ribbons to everyone had to go too, good thing he quit so they didn't have to give him severance.
lmao they didn't leave for pay, they didn't leave for the law suits, they're not going to leave because of a return-to-office mandate. Get outta here.
To anyone saying that working from home promotes laziness, consider this:If you are hired to do Job A, what difference does it make to the company whether you get Job A done in 8 hours in the office, or 2 hours at home? Job A is still getting complete, the only difference is work from home costs the company less money (less office expenses) and your employees are happier and more likely to stay, which again cuts down the costs of hiring and training new employees plus the loss of production from losing experienced staff. There is literally no reason to force someone to come in to the office for a job they can complete remotely. It harms the company overall, reduces profits, and lowers product quality and consumer faith in the company.Just saying.
I thought Ybarra was supposed to be a good guy, but he sounds like a piece of $%^& here. Especially that bit about working from home, telling people to go do what makes them happy, in other words quit and look for a different job. It's crazy that Blizzard would rather open new offices than just let people work from home. They would rather pay more money to keep employees less happy, than save the money for new offices and keep employees happily working from a place they like. And then that comment about executives not making heaps more money than the peasantry... living in a myth. Someone sure is, but it's not the employees.
