They are all over the area some glow and some do not glow could be a bug seem to be a slow respawn time.

I just noticed that, too. What I noticed is that the glow is only on the stalk. So, until I walked around the cap of the shroom, I didn't see any glow at all.

There's plenty of Nutriments scattered about, but you will have to kill a fair few of the giants, as they wander all over the place. Also, try and do it when there's not many other players about, competition for nutriments can get quite fierce!

This was an aggro nightmare for me. I think once you attack a Bog Lord his friends come to his rescue. Tried doing it from 63 - 67 and still an aggro mess. But I guess if you get a good group going it might make the dying process less painful ;)

I noticed there is a pack of 4-5 bogs that wander on the western tip of the area, which is also the closest to the quest giver. I went around over by 32,60 (Ungula is there) and theres a way to go into the area from there which i was able to solo after dying 2 times trying to get in the other way.

i just did this on my 64 enh. shammy and had no prob with this one. pull one at a time and your good. and as pantar says "watch out for their mushroom spores" that is true but an easy one to deal with. 1. use cst "combat scrolling text" or watch your chat window. when it says "Fungai Giant or Bog Lord throws a mushroom spore at " just take 3-5 steps back and you will be fine. you do have about a 5 sec delay as to when the message appears and when the thing goes off.

As Priest, you can just fear all around in an instant cast, pick up the nutriment and face the consequences afterward ;)

hehe :P as priest (I am) you can easily handle 3-4 of those on same time, i put vampiric embrace (gives me health for all dmg i do nearly manafree) vampiric touch (gives me mana for all dmg i do + makes good d.o.t.) shadowword pain (about 1600 dmg over time) and starshards (totally free from mana) then i fear them make some mind blasts and mind flays while theyr running around and when theyr back they are allready nearly dead-dead. i gues this method could work for locks to except they cant heal or shield themselves.

I did this on my level 63 hunter with no problem. Two nuggets of information you might find helpful:

1. There is a constant line of them patroling down the middle of the area. If you watch long enough you can see where they fade out and stop. Work around this area and you can most times only aggro one mob at a time.

2. The mushroom that spawns can be targeted and "killed". And at level 63 when I "killed" it, I got 12 xp. In my case I left my pet tanking the giant while I took the mushroom down (in many cases before it exploded.)

Easyily done as a 62 hunter. They're around the ground so you can't miss them, however most of them are right next to a bog lord.
For a hunter, first put your pet on passive, then lay a freezing trap, pull the boglord into the trap, then aspect of the cheetah to the nutrient. Loot it, run out of agro range from where the mob originally was pulled from and then Feign Death. Easy way to get to them without having to kill the bog lords. Although the bog lords also drop bog lord tentrils for https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=9743 ; also rested (or not) they give nice exp. But if you're stuck for time try my method. Any class with CC should be able to do it like this, for example mages just sheep it, loot and run away.

A tip for doing this as a Warrior (level 62 required for Victory Rush (VR))

You can proc Victory Rush for killing the mushrooms, so this is what you do: Fight the Bog Lords until he makes the mushroom, then pop Whirlwind, which should kill the Mushroom, then use the VR on the Bog Lord to finish it off. When the Bog Lord dies, you get another VR proc to use on your next Bog Lord.

When you look for the discarded nutriment quest items, they appear as small glowing green things on the ground in the Quagg Ridge area. Be aware that there are literally herds of the fungus giants wandering in there periodically. They seem to pop up, wander awhile in a line, then just poof away again, only to re-appear a little while later. I found this out when I was killing one to get to a ground spawn point, and found myself fighting a stack of the things - I killed three, then four, then they ran me out of mana and I had to run for it (62 priest).

If you're not a rogue or a hunter, the way to deal with this is to slide in along the north side of the ridge, looking through the gaps to the south for the ground spawns. When you find one or two, there will invariably be at least one, maybe two, fungus giants you will have to clear. Check out the area first, before you pull, even though it looks like there's one mob, there may be a stack on you. Don't try to go directly in from the east or west end unless you have a group, you can vanish or you can feign death.

It takes a little longer this way, and it is not an easy quest, except for a couple of classes. This step is the hardest by far of the whole quest chain. Even killing the ogres at the last stage of this quest was easier than this part, despite the fact that the ogres are the same level 63-64 mobs that the fungus giants and bog lords are, but a 64 bog lord is harder to kill than a 64 Ango'rosh Mauler ogre - they have far more HP.

Had no problem with this quest as a lvl 62 BE pally. The coords - 29,62. Went in and dealt with the giants swiftly - done in about 15 kills and increased my rep with sporeggar. Didn't meet any alliance players while doing it, but i got ambushed by a party of three when I turned in the quest. Oh well, sh** happens.

29,62 is right. theyre on the floor everywhere. as a level 62 lock, no real problems. just keep the bogs away from you.. fearing them is a bad idea though... theyre all in close proximity.

anyone know sarcasm? I bet it's sarcasm... pick up stuff as a rogue is easy that's so obvious that from time to time you get a sarcastic joke from people not to funny but not the point either... why do I even reply to this?

oh by the way with rogue seems very easy with stealth and $%^&
did it with my shadowpriest and just slautghered every moving thing in a very wide radius, too bad there isn't a aoe spell for a shadowpriest

I had a 70 lock on me there too. But I killed him and camped him at 66 :D! He either really sucked or I'm just pure win! I think it was a little of both :P!

Stealth around and use distract a lot and you should be fine. I got all ten in under 10 min and didnt aggro once at lvl 61. Just time your distracts when they are at the farthese point in their patrol away from the nutriment and this should take no time at all.

Something must have changed since patch 2.2 but this was a relatively simple quest to complete. I'm a 63 mage. Mobs were simple and easy to take out...worked my way around and was done int about 10 min.

Got this item and first thing I tought of was sending it to a rogue buddy, of course I wasnt thinking and its soul bound, wish I could have some use for it. Oh well, more trash...

I don't really see how this is too hard for a rogue.
I went in and did it pretty fast and only had to kill maybe 4 mobs.
just used my distract and stealthed through. :)

i thought that this quest was easiest for hunter....all i did was run to the nitruient...agro a mob close to it(so i wouldnt be interupted) freeze trap...grab the item then feign death near another 1 and repeat...took me 10 mins

Unless your a rogue, the Quagg Ridge area where the glowing mushrooms are is teeming with Bog Lords and Fungal Giant. So the best strategy is to just pull a single mob and try to clear a path to where ever you see a glowing mushroom. Or try to find a group to help clear the area.

Ranged Hunter, Solod at 61 no deaths.
I went in from the east, where quagg ridge meats the southern mtns. I would run in, send my pet in after one of them, drop freeze trap (just in case) grab the nutriment, then run like a cheeta while my pet still tangled with the mob. I could get far enough away that the pet would dismiss before it took much damage.

recall pet, rince, repeate. Not easy, but fun if you like that sorta thing.

Even after the patch I still had issues just because the mobs just keep appearing and walking up behind you.

It is slightly easier if you sneak over the hills at about 29,59

How is it a hard quest for rogues? I did it pretty easy. The only problem is the spawn rate of the mushrooms.

and how should this be harder for rogue than for other classes?
maybe even easyer for rogue, just stealth trough and loot the mushrooms. only if u get aggro those spore things they do on ya sux ass. but thats not only for rogues, there are other classes who cant disspell.

co-ords are good btw :D

29 61 are about right.

Tip: As a hunter I send in the pet but it´s not the giants that will take you down,
it´s the little fast-growing fungai helper that will, so after a few seconds in to the fight
I ran forward and placed an explosion trap, took them right out.
Life became much easier after figuring that one out. :)

I got killed once (by a mushrroom dropped by one of the giants -_-U), but i managed to finish the quest in a few minutes. Not very tough (i'm an undead warrior 63)

To complete this quest you need to сollect 10 pieces of Discarded Nutriment and then return to Watcher Leesa'oh.

Make your way to the east of the Cenarion Watchpost to Quagg Ridge location. Discarded Nutriment can be found on the ground within the location.
You may avoid all roaming bog lords as they don't drop any quest items so you will only spend time to kill them and get nothing in back.

I was wondering why the bog lords were crossing the road to go to the Spawning Glen - they must be starving for some reason. This just will not do!

I mean, normally I wouldn't get involved, but if they continue to eat all of the sporeling pods they'll wipe them out!

Here's what we'll do: I'll stay here and you head to the Quagg Ridge to the east and look for dietary clues as to why they're raiding the sporelings.
