This is one of the trinkets acquired by defeating four bosses in the Edge of Madness section of Zul'Gurub. The bosses are Gri'lek, Renataki, Wushoolay, and Hazza'rah. Each two weeks the current Edge of Madness boss changes in a predictable rotation, so constructing this trinket takes a minimum of six weeks. Most would consider it well worth the time invested, as this trinket should scale well to level 70 and beyond.

This Charm functions excellently in situations where whoever you're healing is taking consistent prolonged spates of high DPS. Nefarian's Warrior class call (MT goes from taking 90% damage to 110%) is an excellent example, as is any Enrage-based mechanic. The Charm is also a strong contender in group PvP, although Nature's Swiftness and Swiftmend may make it less useful to a heavy Resto build.

Since most items were changed from flat % buffs to "rating" buffs, this trinket, while still powerful, is now no longer as useful at 70 due to each point of "rating" not being worth as much in resultant % as you level.

This item used to be 40% casting speed increase. It is now 400 Haste rating. According to Blizzard, 15.8 (roughly 16) points of Haste rating is equal to 1% speed increase. Doing the math, this item now provides roughly 25% speed increase at level 70.

Going backwards, we can assume that the amount of Haste, if the item has not been nerfed for any reason, is equal to 40% reduction at the level of the trinket, which is 60. Therefore we can assume that 10 points of Haste at 60 are roughly equal to 1% speed increase. This matches many other ratings at 60, such as Hit rating.

Now that it's spell haste rating rather than just a reduced casting time on Healing Touch, some Balance Druids may want it as well for faster pewpewing.

Now grants 70 (instead of 400) spell haste rating, and reduces the mana cost of Rejuvenation, Healing Touch, Regrowth, and Tranquility by -5% for 15 seconds.

Is this the quest reward for doin the voodoo doll thing? Seems like a nice trinket for boss fights. 3 min cool down rocks. Too bad it only works for 15 sec. should at least be 30 sec to 1 min. I guess if you use it shortly after a fight starts you can use it again twords the end. maybe more depending on what boss. Not too bad of a trinket.

Who gives the quest for this? I went to Yojamba isle and none of them would give me the quest. Do I have to get the bracer, belt, chestpiece first?

i am now a happy owner of this trinket thanks to my wonderful guild :D

took me about 2 months to get all 4 bosses' drops.
info: the bosses that drop the quest items for this trinket (to make it u need 4 quest items from the Madness bosses + class specific doll, found in Jinxed piles all over ZG) are summoned in the part of ZG called The Edge of Madness (you can recognize it by the groups of imps that are there). You need a special potion recipe to use to summon a boss, which all alchemists can learn in Edge of Madness from the central tablet there (u cant really miss it). For the potion u need: 1 black lotus + 1 blood of heroes + 1 massive mojo + 6 powerful mojos (if u are running ZG collect those mojos) - these 4 mats give u 3 "doses" of the potion.

The bosses are on rotation (independant of raid IDs) and drop 1 or 2 quest items (i heard maybe even 3, but 3 drops of same item never happened for us)

the bosses are of different difficulty, but can be mastered after 2 or 3 tries easily, and very very fun :D

is it just me or is this totally not worth it? 4 instance resets to get this charm for 1 person. i doubt id trade a mindtap out for it...not that great imo.

These ZG charms need to be buffed. You're better off getting the Heart of Hakkar quest reward item than this trinket. It's easier to get too.

make it 50% less mana instead of 5 or have it last longer than 15 seconds and it might be worth the amount of work you have to put in to get it
i saw this on a guy back on arch and thought it was hot but for the amount of work that goes into getting it ehh

look at it as a bonus for all your hard work raiding ZG for so long, as opposed to a big grind for a not-super-awesome item.

Just got this trinket as well, after 2 months of doing the impboss a bit more organized in our guild.

For the people who think this trinket isn't worth it over ZHC or mindtap talisman you are basically comparing apples and oranges.

This trinket (WCN) is hands down a very very nice healing trinket. Why? There is currently nothing better in the game (not even remotely close) that boosts your raw healing throughput as much as WCN does. For situations where you need to heal as much as you can very fast, this is your trinket.

One example where I can very much see myself use this trinket is in AQ Temple against princess Huhuran phase 2 (when she drops below 30%). That's a part of an encounter where you need a lot of healing very fast. For those Defenders just after Huhuran it wouldn't be bad either I think.
Another example is PvP in the BGs of course, for the initial 5vs5 at the smith in AB this is a very nice trinket. Or for duelling or 1vs1 I don't think it's hard to understand how nice it is to be able to cast a rank 11 healing touch on you with 1.8s casting time and 5% mana savings.

For my healing trinkets I have a rejuv gem, mindtap talisman, our royal seal of blahblah and then ZHC & WCN as the "use" trinkets. Each of those trinkets does have it's usage. Rejuv gem together with (mindtap or royal seal) are the trinkets I wear by default, ZHC and WCN are for special purposes.

edit - almost forgot to mention. This trinket doesn't come from a quest, you need 4 different BoP items from the imp boss in ZG and a puncture voodoo doll. You then use the voodoo doll and the trinket is created.

About the imp bosses, every 2 weeks (from sunday midnight until sunday midnight I believe) a different imp boss spawns in ZG. There are 4 different spawns so to have all 4 items you'll need 2 months as well (since the bosses rotate every 2 weeks). Most of the time 1 or 2 of the items drops but today, on our 4th impboss (which was wushoolay himself) he even dropped the item 3 times. That was the first time ever I saw him drop 3x as well so 3 is really rare.

This trinket doesn't sound too good on paper, but in execution it's terrific. It makes HT4 = uber flash heal, and you can get a lot of them off by the time the effect goes away.

Still doesn't justify the insane effort that goes into getting it, though. :(

Realistically, outside of encounters like Huhuran which are "OMFG, HEAL" in nature, this trinket is mostly only usable to buff your healing numbers. If you're spamming HT4, the 5% mana reduction is useless (as % mana reductions tend to only grant good rewards for the higher ranked spells--you'll get a far better alleviation from a spell that costs 800mana than one that costs 166).

The real gold of this item is that it allows you to complete the Haruspex set, and therefore get an overall 5% Starfire Crit bonus. 5% crit with Nature's Grace makes for a potent moonkin, especially for the set with some of the highest AC for casting druids in the game.

What I'd really like to see from Blizz, however, is an attempt at making the armor pieces more usable for moonkins. Perhaps (as with items like the End of Dreams, and Atiesh) there should be a "+33 healing while in caster form, +17 damage/healing while in moonkin form" on the breastplate. Or even just an overall conversion of the +healing on this set to +damage and healing. After all, anyone who spends the months of farming Zul'Gurub for exalted rep SHOULD be rewarded with something more than just a modest healer set with an excellent moonkin set bonus.

Yeah, if you're one of those druids who thinks they are only there for the consistent and dependable mana efficiency of rank 4 healing touch on a 3-second cast.

If you care at all about flexibility, this trinket is amazing. It's on a 3-minute timer, and that means you'll be able to use it on every-other pull, effectively giving you the ability to repeatedly cast healing touch with a drastically reduced casting time at the moment you need it on half your pulls or more. You can use this to change your healing style in an instant from slow-and-mana-efficient to fast-and-even-more-mana-efficient. 15 seconds is enough time to get off about 7 of those faster healing touches, which can either be low ranks, basically functioning as super-efficient flash heals, or high-ranks if you need a lot of burst healing.

You're still the same mana-efficient healer - but now you have the flexibility to change your style when you need to, without sacrificing your efficiency.

Not to mention the fact that this is fantastic for healing in PvP.

Look at the 5 piece ZG set, will be best in game for grinding 60-70 for a druid.

Just picked this up with my guild as of tonight. Tested it through the remainder of ZG. Jury is still out on its effectiveness

Pros:
-It REALLY makes the casting of HT extremely fast.
-You can even cast HT on the last second/zero second of the tick and receive full benefit.
-You can beat almost any heal with a rank 11 on a low hp party member, saving a life.
-3 min cooldown makes it feel like NS.

Cons:
-Prepare to burn through about half your mana in 15 seconds if you�re chaincasting Rank 11, if your gear emphasis is on + healing like myself.
-If you are an aggressive healer (again, like myself), you�re going to pull agro real fast.
-3 mins makes it feel slow compared to other active use trinkets like ZHC or Maril�s Eye.
-Timing is everything. Casting at the right moment, and making sure you�re not getting interrupted while casting to maximize effectiveness. Every second counts.

I�m tempted to call this thing Wushoolay�s Suicide Charm/The Self Murder Trinket, as I�ve brought about my own demise a few times from overzealous use. Granted, it was also late and everyone might not have been thinking clearly, but during one stint I pulled agro off the tank on Hakkar, consequently dying, and even considering the following wipe my fault.

Why did I even bother the 8 weeks for this? Percentile increase/modifying items are still going to be useful come Burning Crusade. Secondly, I doubt I�ll see another trinket that reproduces similar or better effects any time soon released in the future. Healing Touch becomes an effective/reliable spell for PvP with this slick piece, causing a full heal for only a 1.8 second cast (quicker than regrowth, keep that in mind, and continue to tell yourself that). Being that not many people are mad enough to try and build this (esp. with the expansion on the horizon), people won�t expect to see you pop this, and to realize how fast you�re going to heal with it.

Besides, I love how it looks. Reminds me of the old Elemental Mastery talent on shamans. /drool.

Special thanks are in order for my guild <Too Easy>. They seriously put up with roughly 2 months of me begging them to do Edge of Maddness and really getting some sub par blues from the whole experience (I think like 80% of the blue drops were de�d). Secondly, I was really the only person to have the desire to craft it, so for the most part, I felt like we were doing this just for me (keeping people up later so I could do this side boss).

Those of you druids persuing. Good luck. It�s seriously, really cool to cast a Healing Touch (Lower rank, of course) as fast as a paladin and ninja heal their target ;p

Im noticing that the new wording on this doesnt specify that the haste boost is healing only, if thats the case then this gives an even better haste boost than other trinkets and could be good for ferals and moonkin too?

Can anyone confirm? Is this viable trinket even post x-pac?

this is actually one of the better ZG trinkets.
although the royal seal + rejuv gem would be better, but I reckon you can use this one for certain fights. :)

imagine casting HT4 which will be 1.5 seconds, and healing for 1k, trinket lasts for 15 sec = 10 1k heals.

this is pretty good for balance as well, well, doesn't affect moonfire machinegun but rapid starfire w/ barskin is really nice.

1.8sec Healing Touch casts (assuming 5/5 Imp. Healing touch).
Perfect for those attrition fights (Shaman/Priest/Paladin).

You first need to loot a voodoo doll from a hexed voodoo pile. The doll is class specific and spawns all over ZG. Usually one just outside the bat aspects area and another one in the spider egg room. Then you need an alchemist to learn the recipe by reading it off the tablet in the back of the edge of madness. He takes a blood of the heroes and a black lotus along with powerful and massive mojo to make a potion used to douse the flame. This then summons one of 4 different bosses per instance. They each seem to have only 2 drops plus the quest item. They have dropped only 1-2 of the quest items for us per run. You can only summon one boss per run so it does take some time to get the 4 quest items.

Basically a complete pain in the arse for a really nice trinket. The rogue was is an instant 60 energy on something like 2-3min cooldown.

This does not share a cooldown with Talisman of Ascendance. Meaning you can pop both at once and become a healing god once every three minutes.
