Destruction Warlock DPS Pre-Raid Best in Slot (BiS) - TBC Classic

In this Pre-Raid Best-in-Slot Gear List for Destruction Warlock DPS in The Burning Crusade Classic, we will list the recommended gear for Destruction Warlock DPS to aim for when gearing up to raids in The Burning Crusade Classic, including gear sourced from Normal and Heroic Dungeons, professions, BoE World Drops, and reputations.
Destruction Warlock DPS Best in Slot Hub
Best In Slot Gear for Destruction Warlock DPS in Pre-Raid in Phase 3
In Phase 3, a couple of additions will come to Pre-Raid BiS. The primary three changes will be Season 2 PvP gear, Engineering Goggles, and Phase 2 crafted belts. Outside of that, not much will change until Phase 4 badge gear. We'll discuss priority in Pre-Raid gear as well, as with pre-raid, you either want to get as powerful as possible before entering the raids, or you want to achieve the minimal amount of power that will get you into a raid.
Due to the differences in specialization talents, variety of stats on gear, and bonuses from other players in the party, there's no single best set of gear appropriate for all situations. Hit chance plays an enormous role in determining the gear you want to use, as missing a piece of hit gear or having extra hit from talents, gems, or buffs will result in changing other pieces of gear to maintain that hit cap. You can learn more about stat caps and priorities by visiting the Warlock Stat Priority Guide, but some important things to consider:
Hit cap is determined by the level of the target, with level 73 raid bosses requiring +16% chance to hit, while level 70 trash requires only +3%. You should typically gear for bosses, but you may consider it worthwhile to have a specialized setup for clearing trash.

Should Destruction Warlock DPS Choose Aldor or Scryer for BiS in TBC Classic Pre-Raid?
There is not a huge difference between Aldor and Scryers for Destruction Warlocks. You should most likely base this on personal preference, such as elevator type, location, profession trainers, tabard style, etc. That being said, let us look at the differences that influence gearing choices. The Scryers have the better items:

at Exalted. Although these are quite good, there are better items available in both slots in Phase 1. They do, however, offer additional flexibility in your gearing choices as you can swap them in and out to increase/decrease your total hit as required.
The Aldor has the better enchant, but there is a very small difference between the two;

is a special neck that changes proc based on faction alignment. This neck only becomes available by Phase 5, and in this phase, there will be better alternatives, so this is unlikely to affect your decision.
Ultimately,
The Scryers provide more early gearing flexibility, while The Aldor provide a very slightly better shoulder enchant.
Whatever your choice is, it is the right one.

Best in Slot Head Armor for Destruction Warlock in TBC Classic Pre-Raid in Phase 3
Destruction Holo-gogs
will be the best option for your head slot in terms of Pre-Raid BiS. Available only to Engineers, it is comparable with Phase 2 raid gear, giving you a massive power upgrade. Outside of that,
Spellstrike Hood
is also powerful, but you may be better off crafting the Spellstrike Pants first, as this will last you longer, and then opt to go for another one of the heads listed here.

will be the new pre-raid belt option, and will be something you can end up wearing through Phase 3 depending on your loot luck!

, but if you're spending the gold on a belt, you should just go for the best option. If you have
Eyestalk Waist Cord
from back in Classic, you can use that. Outside of that, for much cheaper TBC options, check the toggler below for a couple more options.

There are several strong trinkets, which you may switch out depending on your needs. Against Demons or Undead,
Mark of the Champion
from Naxxramas is still very powerful, and
Neltharion's Tear
is similarly useful for Classic players who need the hit. Ideally, though, you won't need as much hit from your trinkets and can go for stronger DPS options instead.
On TBC Anniversary, the Brewfest event will line up during Phase 3, making
Dark Iron Smoking Pipe
finally obtainable. This is identical to Icon, and you can wear both. You can also alternate between them when one is on cooldown.

Merciless Gladiator's Spellblade
, the Season 2 PvP weapon, will be your best weapon to get in terms of power and accessibility. Previous season gear gets heavily discounted and can be obtained after a week of doing your required 10 Arena games. However, you technically can get the Season 3 weapon,

, before entering raids, but it does require a 1700 rating and way more points. Although it arguably is not too challenging to achieve this rating in 5v5 Arenas, we still will put the previous season weapon on here, primarily in terms of access, But did want to note the reader of Season 3 as well.
Illidari-Bane Mageblade
is a great option versus Demon targets which you'll encounter a lot in Phase 3 Raids. Besides those targets,
Blade of Wizardry
and
Stormcaller/Blade of the Archmage
are the best options. The latter will be expensive, the former will require a hefty reputation grind.
Two-handed staves provide a lot of stats, but generally not enough to outweigh the combination of competitively sourced one-hand/offhand combinations during Phase 1.
Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian
is an outlier in that regard, however, due to the buffs it provides you and your party, increasing everyone's Spell Damage by 33. If you are one of the lucky few to have obtained the weapon in Classic, it will remain relevant until Phase 3.

is only 2 more shadow power, but you lose out on spell damage in case you use Immolate or against Shadow-immune targets. The offhands obtained in Classic also hold up fairly well once you reach level 70.

as optional would probably be good for fire destros. Especially the ring in general is really good for both specs i'm surprised its not on here. But the mana-etched shoulders aren't really viable as a hit option for fire as you wont be taking any other mana-etched to even get the set bonus. You would likely take Spellfire Gloves and Spellstrike Pants. The bracers and boots i listed are obviously from Heroics so it depends on how much people care to try and farm them. But i feel like mentioning them as options at least would be good.

Hi, I was wondering how does pvp equipment or weapons like the Gladiator's War Staff factor into this list? Never really played TBC content (although i did level in azeroth at the time lol) so I have no idea if it is even worth going for or if the gear just isn't as good for pve stuff.. If you are having trouble hitting the Spell Hit cap, one item that could be added to the list under "optional:"

+18 Spell Hit
Also, they're somewhat easy to obtain, they drop in The Slave Pens. Albeit they have only a 9% chance of dropping.
