Interesting item. There are not many items that do periodic damage to the user but items like this can be extremely useful. This can be used to break polymorph, freezing trap, seduce, gouge, sap etc. but can't be used while affected by these already so you need to active it before getting for example sheeped or trapped.

This works as a buff so you can remove the effect whenever you want to avoid extra damage. Also remember that in the expansion you will have a lot more HP and this becomes even more usefull. Oh and the speed buff is nice too :]

Definetely an item to keep. As I said, not many items like this exist and this might become extremely valuable (if it's not already for someone).

Might be handy for breaking Aran's polymorph and running out of line of sight so his pyroblast doesnt hit you. Will have to test this.

I kept mine for ages, under the impression I might use it for something like this some day.

Got sick of waiting, vendored it yesterday. Time will tell if this is folly or not: I did the same to my luffa from searing gorge, and don't really miss it. Of course, I have my blessed bubble.

Just decided to try this little thing out...makes you go roughly mounted speed, gives you a buff called "Flee" and you cluck like a chicken the entire time.

And it has been saved for comedic value...

Lol, I love this thing personally. I still use it despite the nerf. I find it as a challenge to myself, you know, going around to pvp at such a high speed and losing ur own hp :D

There are a few other items you can use to avoid repair bills in some situations.

Dark Rune
Demonic Rune

The advantage here is that they don't take up an equipment slot. The disadvantage is that they do so little damage, they're not likely to kill you.

I still often carry Demonic Runes on my rogue, although at this point it's more habit than anything else...

If you wish to break CC using this item, you better try Sulfuron Slammer, which is quite superior for this task.

The main strenght of this items is the run speed it provides. Though it can be quite deadly when not used right, this item can make difference between life (read: successful flag cap in WSG) and death. The damage effect can be partially avoided by using absorbtion shields (at 79, with 13k hp, two Ice Barriers will avoid whole damage) and the mana lost can be compensated by mana potion (or, for mages, by mana gem)

As of 3.1 this item causes you to drop PvP flag (WSG, EotS).

This item is now useless for anything other than suicide, sadly.

It is also worth noting that this item (like many other "use" items) has a 30 second charge time before it can be used when you equip it, so trying to switch to this and use it immediately will not work. You need to have it on in advance. This dramatically reduces its functionality for both PVP (Quickly escaping) and PVE (When trying to kill yourself), especially for higher level characters who wouldn't normally have it equipped at all times.

It does require a bit of finesse to use this item to kill yourself properly. Who knew dying was so technical?

Because of the selfish nature of killing oneself with this item in a raid or instance group, and the need to drop out of the fight WAY early to do so, it's important to point out that your fellow players may be less than amused by your penny-pinching suicidal tendencies.

Tanks and healers probably shouldn't use this item to kill themselves unless everyone else is already dead (dooming other players because you want to save on a repair bill is a breach of your responsibility to a group or raid, in my opinion). However, if you're a tank and everyone is dead except for you... maybe you should think about a different spec.

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet, but this is very useful getting the Halaa mounts now that everyone is in northrend and outland world PVP is extremely rare.

Ive tested it, and used it on a mage to get the battle tokens needed for a mount. Simply kill yourself anywhere in the halaa area, and you are awarded a Halaa battle token. Easy token every 5 minutes!

Apparently this has been fixed since I "farmed" my mount. Apologies!

This is a tragedy of epic digital proportions! When did they remove the crazy zooming around aspect to this item. I just used it and was stationary rather than running around like a maniac. Now I am sad.

I have this and The Опустошитель axe. It is nice to have wowhead to see how precious these things are. It is a shame those items were removed. Imagine that at lvl 49 with the new upscaling system...... :(
