For those who are too dense to follow quest arrows... *cough* totally not me *cough* ...you can't complete this quest by taking the portal(s)/HSing into the Emerald Dream. Tyrande Whisperwind will not accept the quest here.

What you need to do is to just fly in the direction that Merithra of the Dream is looking (Merithra is the NPC that gave you this quest).

In other words, Tyrande Whisperwind will accept your quest if you fly to the zone Amirdrassil which is located west of Ohn'ahran Plains in the Dragon Isles and talk to her there.
-Aka where the quest arrow is pointing :v

Don't take the portal to enter the Emerald Dream, the quest is in the Plains.

Take the time to talk to all the named npc's at the end of the quest chain, and hang around a bit to listen to their comments and jokes. Really well done!

This one had me totally baffled. I visited Tyrande in the Encampment and she wouldn't speak to me. I dropped the quest and restarted it. Nothing. I came to Wowhead for advice, and my brain just didn't compute what y'all were trying to tell me. LOL

Thank goodness for YouTube, and the kind souls who share their wisdom there.

there's an Island West of that Portal which will ONLY show the quest marker if you zoom on in (click on that there Island)

This should make it clear?

So it's the Island the Emerald dream would "geographically" be located at, but not in the Emerald Dream itself, but on another plane ...
or something, uh-huh-huh

The question location description is wrong. This quest's Tyrande isn't in Central Encampment at all, so that must have been a mistake. Do not enter the Emerald Dream but instead she is west of the dragon quest givers. It isn't marked on the map, eitherr.

Gosh, wasted so much time trying to find this. Don't be like me and pick up the quest and then go off and do other stuff. It won't show anywhere. I had to abandon the quest and go back and pick it up from Merithra, THEN check your map and fly straight in the direction of the ? (50 61) It's a kind of 'vision' Amirdrassil, not your normal questing one. Hence if you go off and do other stuff and come back you won't find it!

Auspicious Gathering

Speak with Tyrande Whisperwind in the Central Encampment.

Description

As you know, Amirdrassil is no ordinary tree. Tyrande Whisperwind and the rest of the kaldorei have been preparing to properly welcome it with a ceremony of their own, and establish a new moonwell. I am certain that Tyrande would want you there for the dedication. Let us join them at the Central Encampment.
