I came across Zovaal's Vault in The Rift, clicked it and started dragging it. Ve'nari was just a few yards passed it, so I walked up to her with the vault in tow and accepted this quest. The 2nd part of it (Zovaal's Vault returned to Ve'nari) completed immediately and no matter what I tried, I couldn't complete the first one.

So if you're looking up this quest for what to do: Don't drag the vault to Ve'nari when you find it. Pick up the quest first, then get the vault and take it to her, or you might not be able to complete it like me.

This daily and the chest is only available after entering the shadow version of the maw.

Once you entered the shadow version of the maw, you can accept the daily at 43.5 50.9 from Ve'Nari.

Make sure you accepted the daily before dragging the chest and stay in a party. Quest can be shared.
If you run with more then 5 people, they can also drag the chest, just make sure you are not in a raid.

The chest can spawn at 4 different positions:

/way 47.2, 79.7
/way 62.1, 64.3
/way 66.4, 58.2
/way 33.0, 66.3

It takes around 5-7minutes to drag the chest to her.

The chest also contains 1, sometimes 2 Collapsing Riftstone, which is a raidwide portal to enter the shadow version of the maw.
If you do use the portal in the future, make sure the user enters last, otherwise not all people can join.

Sometimes you can also get Personal Ball and Chain.

Zovaal's Vault is a Treasure located in The Maw (Rift Phase).
To open Zovaal's Vault you have to drag the treasure to Ve'nari located near the bridge. Zovaal's Vault Chain.
I spend around 5 minutes to complete all the trip.

How to access the Rift Phase:
Using Repaired Riftkey on Rift Portal in Korthia and walking to The Maw on the treasure coordinates.
After entering on the Rift Portal you have 15 minutes to open the treasure Traversing the Rift.
Needs Tier 4 research with The Archivists' Codex Reputation to buy Repaired Riftkey.

You do not need the daily to turn in the chest. Just drag it over to Ve'nari and loot it.

When I heard about this quest I popped into the Rift using a normal rift key in Korthia and walked my way up to the bridge in the old Maw to accept it. When I got there Venari had no quest to give me. Does anyone know if there are prerequisites or anything I may need to do in order to trigger the quest? Thanks!

Pre-req required for this? Was in the rift and a guildy was able to pick up the daily, but the other 2 of us were not able to pick it up.

There seems to be some sort or prerequisite to get this quest, perhaps reputation or a quest chain.

However, you do not need this quest to see the vault. You can still find it, drag it, and loot it once you return it to Ve'nari at the bridge.

If you get thrown out of the rift because you're out of time, the chest will wait for you wherever you've managed to pull it, so you can just grab another key and go complete your run.

You can pick up the the chest and remove your buff - then the chest will stop following you, but as soon as you get to Ve'Nari it will reappear, that way you don't have to actual do the slow move to her with it.

So you just tediously dragged that >20 tonnes monster chest all the way to him, it is a ducking huge bus standing right in front of his eyes.
And just because I accepted the quest after I did this he asks me "So did you find it yet?" Its standing right in front of you! Let me complete the quest!

I didnt need the daily to be up to do this quest. I did have to check every point on my handynotes though to find it, i barely had enough time to run it back to venari. I found the chest in Perdition Hold in the rift of course. The Perdition Hold handy notes icon for Zovaal's Vault may be hard to see on your map, as its right underneath the Dolos Rare icon. There was also a non rift daily in that area (guaranteed delivery), probably coincidence but wondering if theres a correlation there.

Definitely make sure you have perdition hold unlocked on any characters you attempt this on, or you wont be able to open the gate to perdition hold if you arent grouped with someone who can. So far on subsequent alts the chest has been in the same location for the day. Either this is really good luck, or you can safely run to the same location on your alts to save time searching once you locate it for the first time of the day. I havent 100% confirmed this though.

You can only turn in this quest to the version Ve'nari that's where you drop the chest off. The version of Ve'nari that's in her Refuge doesn't know anything about this quest...

I really don't like the explanations here, here's a more detailed explanation for doing the quest Full of Surprises and/or getting the chest Zovaal's Vault (you don't need to do the quest) and return it to Ve'nari so hopefully you can go into this knowing what to do and won't have to waste keys, etc.

First, this is going to be in the Rift. Which is this annoying redo of Korthia and the maw in a gray tint that's full of mobs. A really nasty annoying zone. If you haven't already been there you need to use either Repaired Riftkey or Collapsing Riftstone to get into the Rift. The Repaired Riftkey is a reasonably common drop and can also be purchased from Archivist Roh-Suir. To use Repaired Riftkey you need a Rift Portal, the standard Rift Portal that always exists is at the cave at 41.23 41.70.

Once you use the Key and enter the Rift you have 15 minutes before you're popped back out. That's very important. That portal is in Korthia so you need to get to the Maw. You can head that way and use Cypher of Relocation, however this doesn't work near the portal you need to be in the Maw (or close to in it weirdly). So head to the Maw, use the Cypher and you're in Ve'naris Refuge, but guess what she's not there! You have to go to the Bridge that connects the North and South Maw (near her Refuge) and she'll be there with a quest Full of Surprises. This link is her and where she's at in the Rift: Ve'nari

But guess what, you don't need the quest. You can go find the Zovaal's Vault and bring it to where she is, saving you a lot of time. Zovaal's Vault is in one of 4 locations in the Maw (not Korthia):

These locations can be spread pretty far apart, chewing up a lot of that 15 minutes depending on how lucky you are. Also, this chest is HUGE, so don't worry about missing it. Once you find the chest you click on it and you'll see chains connecting you to it (but only some of the time because this game is so buggy). Then you have to walk it to where Ve'nari is: Ve'nari. You can mount but it doesn't seem to be any faster. Because when you're pulling this chest it randomly stuns you (because why, who knows, isn't this fun). Once you get it to Ve'nari and pull it to the circle in front of her you can open it.

You can bet you'll be fighting a lot of mobs along the way. The chest will follow you over hills, etc. Don't think you have to stay on the roads. Whatever way gets you past the mobs is the best way.

As others have said, if you run out of time you may be able to run back and find the chest where you left it. But it's not guaranteed.

When dragging the chest, it seems you can avoid the stun by not keeping the chain fully extended. Try alternating between walking and stopping to let the chest catch up. 1 or 2 seconds of each worked great for me, and was a lot less frustrating, though I can't say for sure whether it saved me any time.
