The trance spoken of is the one druids use to enter and dwell inside the Emerald Nightmare/Dream. It's now corrupted, by... something.

Also, this has a somewhat sad ending. Should have seen it coming, but alas.

All of these new Blasted Lands quests are very well done.

This was my last quest in Blasted Lands. I've followed the chains from the Forsaken starting area and this is the first time I haven't had a quest in my log telling me where to go next. Have I missed something? I got the quests achievement for BL so I think I've done them all. Was actually expecting to be sent through the dark portal or on to stranglethorn or something.

Anyone got any ideas? Obviously I can just start again in a new zone, but I like to do everything in the order the game wants me to.

This quest gives an insane amount of XP. Around 20k with heirloom head/cloak/shoulder/chest and guild perk. Have yet to see a quest in Hellfire with that amount of XP.

I feel terrible for this poor hairy guy even though he is kind of a naive airhead. Dude you need to WARD HARDCORE against dreadlords, they're insidious @#$%^&s.

Doofus though Marl may be, he didn't deserve Nathrezim in the brains. My belfadin's a Hordie through and through, but he got sadfaced about this quest nonetheless.

This guy is located in a tree called Maldraz at 35, 68 in the Tainted Forest. If you don't have the quest you can't touch him

The goal of this quest is to kill Marl Wormthorn, but to do so, you must use the Demoniac Vessel to pull him out of his trance.

Pretty easy quest for my level 59 Blood Elf Warrior. I went to his location in the Tainted Forest, just NW of the Sunveil Excursion in the Blasted Lands. I started by pulling the demons around him off, one by one, so they wouldn't all attack me at once if I just ran in.

Then, to pull Marl out of his trance, just click on the bag next to the quest or from your inventory, select the area to target (Marl) and let it do its thing. Marl comes out of his trance, ready to fight. Easy kill.

Turn in at Sunveil Excursion. Upon completion, I received 18,550 XP, 2g65s, choice of Pauldrons of the Trove OR Sunveil Breastplate & 500 Silvermoon City reputation.

If you're looking to pick up the decor item, I was able to pick up The Demons and The Druid quest and finish the last bit of this chain, having not previously done any blasted lands quests at all.

For anyone wondering, make sure to go north and speak to "Zidorni" and travel through time to another point in the Blasted Lands' history. Otherwise you will keep phasing the quest giver out.

The Downfall of Marl Wormthorn

Kill Marl Wormthorn at Maldraz in the Blasted Lands. You can use the Demoniac Vessel to pull him out of his trance.

Description

Wormthorn's unnatural forest threatens our excursion's progress. His trees' roots break our picks, his moss grows over our excavation sites, and his animals attack my men. When it comes to digging, I'll take a demon-infested wasteland over a forest any day.

Take the demoniac vessel and use it on Marl Wormthorn to pull him from his trance. Return to me when he is no more.
