Wowhead's Patch 5.2 Guide and Official Patch Notes
Patch 5.2 is going live on March 5th and we've got you covered so you don't feel overwhelmed with all the new content!
This patch has a new troll-themed raid with amazing bosses and epics, as well as a server-wide War Effort to unlock more non-raid content. There's new transmog gear, mounts, pets, and legendary rewards--as well as an island filled with dinosaurs.
As for lore, the Mogu have teamed up with the Zandalari on the Isle of Thunder, and while the Alliance and Horde are worried and fighting back, they're also caught up in a feud as a result of the Dalaran fallout in 5.1.
We've got summaries of all the new content below, as well as links to blue posts and Wowhead's comprehensive PTR coverage.

5.2 Guide: New Rare Spawns and Elites
In the early Patch 5.2 beta, we covered new rare elites around Pandaria that dropped dinosaur mounts like

Patch 5.2: Guide to Profession Changes
Many professions are getting big changes and additions in Patch 5.2. In this guide, we've broken down all the major changes to all the professions, including new vanity items, reagents, and crafted gear.
Blacksmithing
has the most changes, but there's also a new "Fish of the Day" event, a new archaeology race, and many recipes covering ilvl 522 raid gear and ilvl 458 PvP armor.
We do have one sad announcement to make--

Archaeology
A new race is added in 5.2--the Mantid. There are eight common solves and two rare solves (

5.2 Transmog Weapon Changes, Gallery of Main Hand Weapons Changing to One-Hand
Many huge changes are coming to Transmogrification in 5.2! Besides the addition of
troll-themed greens resembling unobtainable gear from original Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman
, there are a number of weapon changes.
Transmog restrictions have been loosened on several weapon types:
Two-handed axes, maces, and swords can be Transmogrified to each other.
One-handed axes, maces, and swords can be Transmogrified to each other.
Staves and polearms can be transmogrified to each other.
Class restrictions still apply though--you must be able to equip an item in order to use it for transmog.
In addition, many weapons that were Main Hand only are now classified as One-Hand. Previously, Main Hand weapons could not be transmogged onto One Hand weapons. This frees up even more flexibility, as a sword formerly classified as Main Hand only, such as
Runesword of the Red
, can now not only be transmogged onto any other One Hand sword, but also onto any mace or axe (if your character can equip them normally) in 5.2!

Troves of the Thunder King
Troves of the Treasure King
