Pick up Not Ready on Set from Alyx, which sends you to Dapperdew in Ardenweald which starts The Show Must Go On.

If someone is in the same situation as me, where they started the Secrets of Azeroth quest chain on a fresh alt and got stuck at the point where you skip the first Shadowlands introductory quest, and then, after teleporting to Oribos, the NPC isn’t there, don’t worry. You can complete the quest on your main character or another alt if you’ve already been to Shadowlands before, because the achievement is account-wide.

All of the items are in the same general area. w

First one, the Conducters Baton, I found by the drums and harps at 43.26, 45.48.
Second one, mask of the trickster, 41.18, 43.77, leaning against the wall
Third, Play Script, 41.25, 42.81, on the table
Fourth, prop sword, 42.26, 46.73 There is a ledge with a throne type chair, it is underneath the ledge

Speak with Alyx at the Celebration Pavilion to pick up the quest Not Ready on Set
Head to Ardenweald and talk to Dapperdew to accept the follow-up quest The Show Must Go On.

The quest requires collecting several items scattered around the Amphitheater:

A fun little optional easter egg: If you check the instruments on the northwestern end of the stage, you'll find a note from the prankster scolding you for thinking they'd be so obvious as to hide one of the items in such an easy spot.

If you for some reason happened to abandon the quest mid progress and then pick it up again - you'll have to delete the items you picked up before, else you will not get the progress for them. I had some issues with the quest due to a random disconnect so I got stuck for a while.

I found the sword but am unable to pick it up. Judging from the way the other people (opposite faction from me) are talking, circling the item, and logging out and back in, I'm guessing that they can't pick it up either. Tried reloading and relogging.

ETA some members of my faction showed up and they can't pick it up either.

ETA I flew into Mists and came back and could pick it up. Looks like everyone else had managed to get it so I don't know that Mists actually had anything to do with it but may be worth a try if it's not working.

I couldn't see this quest after turning in the previous "ready on set" quest. At the time I didn't complete the pirate gastronomy quest (wanted to hold off or just felt lazy). So I went back and completed that and was finally able to accept this quest. Maybe someone else will have the same issue.

The sword is just behind the stone bench underneath the throne area. It's lying flat on the ground and is really easy to miss. Hope this helps!

This concludes the ninth local story of Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager (although at this point they can be done in any order), awards the achievement, and grants that criterion of Azeroth's Greatest Detective.
Next you can work on chapters and crates, which were also unlocked by the Guest Relations tutorial (A Whiff of Help), if you haven't done them already:
The main Guest Relations storyline (I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats), starting with The Great Detective, which begins Chapter 1.
Celebration Crates (Crate Insurance Agent), starting at Alyx with "Do you have any harder challenges?" The first crate, which has no Ransom Note, is Hazy Celebration Crate (although at this point they can be done in any order).

The 20th Anniversary is over now, but you can still fetch this quest in Ardenweald from Dapperdew at the Amphitheater. Unfortunately I was not able to click on any of the quest items required to complete it. Seems like a broken quest at the moment.

Appears to still be bugged as of 21st anniversary - quest is obtainable, but none of the quest items are interactable.

Unfortunately, this still appears to be bugged after the 11/25/2025 reset.
Edit to add: I've never played Shadowlands proper, only far enough to get the flight paths. I wonder if this has something to do with phasing during questing?

Blizzard has now since acknowledged my/another forum post in a blue post response and are aware/actively working on a fix.

This is confirmed to be working again now, just completed it myself. Thanks to everyone for the bug reports / forum noise, looks like they finally managed to get this fixed in time for the final week!

Hey , this is Game Master . I’ll do my best to explain this clearly for you, and thank you for waiting on me, we’ve had a lot of tickets recently and I appreciate your patience.

After checking into the two quests you mentioned, here’s what I can share. For “The Show Must Go On”, we’ve received reports confirming that it isn’t working as intended. The items not spawning is a bug, and while Customer Support doesn’t have a manual workaround to push progression forward, our developers are already working on a fix. I know it’s a timed event, and the team is prioritizing this so players can complete the achievement before the anniversary window closes.

I understand how important it is to finish achievements during limited events, and your feedback here is valuable. If you’d like, you can also post your experience on the official forums, player reports there help highlight urgency and give the developers more visibility on how widespread the issue feels.

I also received an answer for the other bugged spawn, the first feather on A Bird's Tail. At least on horde the feather just isn't there. This is also widely reported but it got a less interesting response.

It has been reviewed and is functioning as intended, which means the progression relies on community‑shared hints and discoveries rather than direct item spawns. Thank you for coming! We've had a bit of a mishap with the script and various stage props. They've all gone missing! It seems as though a prankster has decided to make a mockery of our productions and scattered several needed items throughout the area.
