When going down into the area at the start of Dead Drop, there is an NPC that you need to get to follow you. If you run all the way down into the cave and he hasn't followed you, run back up the ramp or you will not get credit when killing the mob.

This quest apparently has a minimum ilvl because my 150 rogue is merely tickling it and it's bending me over.

Its a terribly unbalanced quest.. Boomkin ilvl134 and I am getting owned at level 60.. So in short.. Balanced is unbalanced.

159 Paladin alt. Got completely spanked as Retribution. Went into Protection spec, much better. Didn't even try to avoid the anima discharges, whereas in Ret spec, I was losing half my health in one shot, despite running my tail off avoiding stuff as best I could.

This quest's mob (and that of "Things Best Kept Dark") really makes me wonder if anyone who designs and codes and Blizzard has ever actually played the game, hell, have they ever stopped a moment to think a second time (or even just once)?

This quest should be renamed Drop Dead, because it seems that if your class doesn't have a tank spec, that's what you will be doing, and a lot of it. At ilvl 154 my rogue is getting her butt handed to her on a prototype platter. And the NPC Al'dalil doesn't seem to be helpful at all in the fight.

If you're coming here to find out why you're getting owned by this quest mob, as many of the comments here are complaining about... the key is very simple:

His melee hits hurt but even with a low iLvl (mine was only 133) you should be able to withstand them, heal through them, or mitigate them with your abilities. The reason you're getting roflpwn'd is because you're not running away when he does his "anima discharge" ability. That will put a dot on you that will mess you up quick. So when he does "Anima Discharge", just run to the edge of the room, and dodge between the blue orbs that fly at you. Then resume killing him. You only have to get him to 50% then you can jump on him and use the appropriate ability based on what the voice tells you to do to finish the quest.

Quest Name:	Start and description
1 The Al'ley Cat of Oribos	Start this quest from Host Ta'rela 67 50 in Oribos. You need to go to speak with Al'dalil 56 30
2a Insider Trading	Speak with 4 NPC in order: Overseer Ta'readon 63 67, Emissary Ba'silk 47 72, Zo'sorg 34 57 and Foreman Au'brak 40 32.
2b Things Best Kept Dark	You need to get Cartel So Shipping Manifest, Go to 38 23 first pick up scrolls they are on chest, then kill NPC then pick us scroll from his body.
4 Seeking Smugglers	Fly to Revendreth to speak with Ta'nla the Identifier 51 82.
5 Above My Station	First step in to portal that will move you to Bastion then move to Bounty Hunter Ta'oku 32 32.
6 Dead Drop	Fly to 36 32 and enter cave, Now you need to fight with Prototype Aquilon take 50% his HP down then jump on him. When You will fly on him Use skills 1-3, Al'dalil will say what skill You need to use. After few correct he will take you to base.
7 Coins for the Ferryman	Fly to Oribosand go to 29 66 Ta'meri.
8 The Veiled Market	Speak with Ta'meri to take you to Tazavesh, the Veiled Market. then speak with Zo'mezal 84 47
9 Tazavesh: Raiders of the Lost Artifact	You need to kill So'leah. You can do it in 2 ways: - Go Dungeon on N, HC or M but you need to kill all to get to last boss ( not many ppl are doing this - Do M+ Tazavesh: So'leah's Gambit I done 2nd option. Quest have auto finish after killing of NPC.

If you're coming back to do this in Dragonflight or higher, kill the NPC very slowly or else he won't become subdued for you to mount. If you kill him, you have to abandon the quest and pick it up again. If you don't abandon quest, he will never subdue. He will just go dormant and despawn.

Doing this in TWW, Had to hit it with something small so it would turn yellow, but then it disappeared. About 30 seconds later it returned and was mountable.

Quest bugged as of 30/07/25. Trying to complete as part of the Ethereals Lore Walking. After getting the mob to 50% it becomes subdued and I can "enter" it as a vehicle. The vehicle UI pops up for around 5 seconds before disappearing again, and I cannot use any vehicle abilities. Pressing the 'exit vehicle' button does nothing, and neither does right clicking on my portrait (which remains the vehicle portrait) and pressing leave. Only way I've been able to escape is by abandoning the quest and falling after the vehicle disappears. Trying again has yielded the same scenario multiple times.

Edit: After trying for a 5th time it worked. Only think I did differently was holding back on the damage to kill it over 15 seconds or so (although I hadn't exactly blown it up quickly the other times either). Hope this helps someone in need.

Make sure you enter the cave slowly so that the first part of the quest "export party found" gets checked off before you start attacking.

Description

Ta'nla requested something very... specific... on behalf of a client. The kyrian have been working on a new type of centurion they call an aquilon. I sent some of our trade specialists to retrieve the prototype in question, but they have yet to return. Until I have the item, there is obviously no way I can ship it to Ta'nla. Perhaps we can help one another. If you can locate the aquilon and bring it here, I will help you reach Tazavesh.
