This quest is extremely difficult to do without the optional step of talking to Khaliiq, while you can stealth around if you have the class ability. The mobs you need to get the quest items form are in packs and have increasing levels of health up to around 100k per mob in the pack.

With Khaliiqs stealth ability you get a poison which stuns the quest NPCs and pick their pocket.

Khaliiq is at
/way 31.8, 59

The other NPCs will be make don your map. Avoid the Eyes of Vyraz - they have a large area of stealth detect which does not have a circle around it to show you their range. The one in the corridor between Khalliq and the NPCs you need to pickpocket is especially annoying - you will need to hug the wall on the left and wait for other patrolling mobs to move out of the way.

Shifting to cat form or travel form 'breaks' the stealth functionally even if it doesn't do so visually or take away the extra action button.

After you complete the quest - mounting or shifting forms will cause a button to show up that will port you back to Khaliiq.

How to do The Spider on the Wall:

speak with Khaliiq to get the stealth ability Blessing of Eyes and the stun ability Widow Venom (use the stun if you need)
loot Envoy's Letter from Mel'san (don't be detected by the mobs)
loot Requisitioner's Scroll from Requisitioner Kem (don't be detected by the mobs)
loot Patrol Schedule from Captain Hawken (don't be detected by the mobs)
after collect all items will appear a new extra button ability use this skill to back to Khaliiq

Shamans can use ghost wolf BEFORE talking to Khaliiq. Even collecting herbs will remove you from the stealth mode.

the most disgusting world quest i've ever seen, if you get caught/accidentally used abilities or anything
u just lost your stealth and forced to kill the npc, which is very hard for a hard dink 60..
i died like 5 times, because i came too close to npc (pickpocket), the most ridiculous WQ ever, also time consuming af

i have never felt more miserable playing world of warcraft ever.

midway through the quest i used heroic leap to see if it breaks stealth since its such a long distance on foot to cover. then i died and i died and i died again trying to get out. 1/10

If you thought "screw stealth" I'll just run up and kill them, don't. The last of the three is one of 3 100k hp elites, although I was able to separate him - tagged him, ran far away (avoid the patrol), the other two mobs reset, as did he, but he got back to the reset spot faster, so I tagged him again after sprinting back towards him while the other two mobs reset, as a 159 ilvl ret pali. Good luck!

They are far in the base to the south, spread out and it's a good long walk. Died a few times from dropping stealth. Just walk patiently.

If you don't have coords, just follow the main path. The mobs will (assuming you have the quest stealth up) have a "loot" mouseover on them. You'll pass the big sunken wet area to the right, then a little farther past another chokepoint you'll find a bunch of supplier skeletons on the road; the first NPC you need to loot is there. The next two are farther in and on the right; just use /target on the names Sipder2 listed (Mel'san, Captain Hawken, Requisitioner).

This is a horrible quest that I don't know how you could consider it to be fun, gameplay, or engageing. its just extreme tedium
1: you can't use anything to increase your speed over such a very long walking distance so it eats alot of time
2: you can't pick up any herbs along the way, also disrespecting your time
3: even if you are not spotted you can't re-stealth, again over a long distance, and disrespecting the players time
4: none of the targets are marked on the map over such a vast area with slow speed - player time
5: It is not challenging in any way its just a severe drain on time for your stupid engagement metrics is my guess
6: no-one wants to be doing WQ for power progression for a 3rd expansion in a row , especially after being
FORCED to quest in a way you can not even spread it along 2 toons, again disrespecting the players time (have to redo those quests to Loremaster on an alt or do 18 levels worth of crap when you only need 10)

in conclusion please rethink not only your choices for questing, WQ, and required content before raiding BUT ALSO the validity of future employment of whoever made this quest because most would agree heads should roll and they should lose their job

Aren't world quests supposed to be fun and quick to do? I've already encountered way too many of these seemingly randomly generated world quests that have never been checked once before rolling into retail. Save yourself the headache and just skip these when you get them, until they're tuned. Any reward it may give isn't worth it.

I found a quick way to get out of the area when you complete the quest. Find a safe spot with no enemies, drop the cloaking buff, then click the extra action button which should be a "retreat" ability at that point. It will teleport you back to Khaliq.

If you've never played a rogue, the stealth ability is not perfect. Don't get too close to the mobs that can't see you, or you will be unmasked.

As a hunter you can use Aspect of the Cheetah but using Disengage removes stealth and you have to go back to Khaliiq.

Finished this (painfully irritating quest), and was hoping to be ported back to the NPC upon completion. No. So I walk back to the NPC/ exit in stealth like a chump, only to find there's basically a Hearthstone ability to get back to the NPC once you decloak. Welp.

This daily is marginally useful if you want to reach Warbringer Mal'korak without adds chasing you. I completed the objectives enroute, looked in group finder to see if the rare was up, and then I was able to port back to Khaliq afterwards.

As of the 9th of December 2020 this world quest seems to either be bugged or not working as intended, so don't waste your time doing it. There are no arrows pointing towards the quest objectives, the area is filled with hostile mobs and elites, the stealth that you are provided with is really bad, any movement speed increase ability will break it, the incap ability breaks stealth, and the button for returning to the starting NPC does not work in combat, so if you get aggro you most likely need to walk outside and reset over and over again or just die.

If you really want to complete the quest, the objectives are in the back of the citadel, so walk towards the area where the blacksmith in the Maldraxxus questline was, and you just need to walk up behind certain NPCs in stealth and click on them for the items. If there are people there out of stealth that are just killing the NPCs, tag them cuz you can also loot the required items.

Don't have a follower with you when doing this quest. I had Roseboil (Necrolords) with me and I kept getting popped out of stealth. At first I couldn't figure out why I was being detected then I realized every mob was attacking her! So I promptly sent her packing and was able to stay in stealth no problem.

Playing on a rogue, I figured I could drop stealth to collect herbs, then use my own stealth. But you can't pickpocket the quest items without the special quest stealth, and have to walk all the way back out front to reaquire it like everyone else.

On the plus side, abilities like sprint that work during rogue stealth also work during the quest stealth.

If you read the comments here you'd think this WQ is the worst thing to happen to SL. I will admit it is way too ambiguous and you basically need to look it up to figure out what you need to do, which is a sign of bad design. However, it isn't actually that bad once you know what to do, and can be completed fairly painlessly in about five minutes or so once you know what to do. You just need to go to the back of the House of the Chosen area and the guys who need need will appear on the map. Don't get me wrong, it's still a little tedious and other players can just drag mobs onto you and ruin everything (especially when the WB is up). But if you are careful, it's not too bad.

I had to revive my long-dead Wowhead account just to post this, to warn others of this WQ. It is so poorly explained, so poorly implemented and laid out, that in the time it takes to complete it, assuming no screwups (more on this later) you could have done three other WQ’s.
Now, there are so many things that can mess things up for you, like pets, minions, trainees, other players running around haphazardly, etc. And if you do get exposed, you have to teleport all the way back to the NPC to get a new stealth, then sneak all the way back to the targets. And even if you are a stealth class, you can’t pickpocket the quest items unless you are stealthed using the buff the npc gives you.
Whoever designed this needs to be fired, and whoever approved this also deserves to be fired.

Heed this warning, and avoid this WQ at all costs!

OK, this quest is not too bad. Do not lose your stealth, watch the guys with the reveal orbs carefully and move around/stay away, follow the mini map, it's accurate on locations of the 3 item holders. Stun the item holder using the Widow Venom buff you've been given, then the pickpocket/loot icon is live and you can stand right next to them and loot the items without losing your stealth. No combat at all involved as long as you keep your stealth.

Very easy, very badly designed wq.

Go south ALL the way into the House of the Chosen, eventually you will see the quest objective people. Use extra action on them, walk up and "loot" them.

DO NOT be tempted to mount, jump, use gathering, etc. as any action breaks your stealth and you have to start walking all over again.

There's a Clickable Tauralus around 39,6 69 , a bit north east, down from the NE target that gives you a 60s mounted buff for ~286% speed, use it to get out. Managed to finish this awful WQ and was wondering why the extra button didn't chance to the teleport... Previously I had failed (those small mob patrols are too fast to evade in main roads) and the button did change but couldn't escape (which adds to the badness of this 'Waste' Quest) since I assumed you'd have to drop combat (pretty hard since Legion, with mobs chasing you very far), on most classes.

Do people not understand that you don't have to kill the mobs? Quest is frustrating enough without a bunch of Johnny Awesomes running in attacking the mob you are trying to pickpocket.

So as far as quest design goes, this one needs a little love or updates. It doesn't tell you that you have to go all the way into The House of the Chosen. Also you should not be attacking any of the NPC's, you gotta use the extra skill bar skill that pops up. Avoid the NPC's with the stealth bubble around them - and you can use the "sap" button to sap ANY npc you go past so they also don't detect you. You don't need to sap the named npc's you need to pickpocket the item from - but it does help. In addition to this, careful using any special ability skills as well. As an Outlaw Rogue, I found stealth & vanish broke the special skill so you have to teleport back to the NPC to get the quest "buff" again. Slow and steady and you can easily do this. Just takes time and patience. Definitely not for the impatient for sure.

So, there is no info ingame as to where you're supposed to go looking for the quest items. Of course you can discover it yourself without looking here but you'll find yourself thinking "they can't possibly expect me to walk sooo far from the starting point in a slow crawl" except they do. Also, other players will aggro the mob you need to pickpocket so you either wait for respawn or wrongly suppose you can loot them after combat which you can't if the puller was from the other faction and also combat will drop your stealth requiring you to walk back to the quest starter in a frigging' warzone. Add random DKs pulling detector mobs within your range when you were safely walking past them. And the last mob is Elite with two other strong mobs you can't safely kill this early in the expansion meaning if you find yourself without stealth there you're screwed. If you die you have a very long spirit crawl to your corpse where again you have very little chance to walk back to quest starter alive...
and if you get frustrated and decide to take resurrection sickness you find yourself 880yards from the start behind enemy lines.
TLDR; don't do this wq EVER, your time is worth more

Quest doesn't have much in the way of explanation but is definitely not the worst World Quest I've ever done. When you get the stealth ability from the quest giver your goal is to move into the House of the Chosen and pickpocket 3 different mobs (there is a glowing circle around the correct mobs on your mini-map) in there. Remember to NEVER do any of your regular actions or you'll break your own stealth! You'll get an extra action button to sap anyone that you think is in your way. I didn't try to sap any of the stealth-breaking mobs so I don't know if it can be done. To pickpocket, move close to the the target and click on them. There will be a vendor bag on your cursor when it's hovering on the guy that needs to have their pockets picked. You have to be quite close to the mob for it to work. When you've done all three find a place away from any mobs and drop the stealth spell. Your sap button has now turned into a return button to take you back to the quest giver.

Took me about 10 minutes once I figured out what needed to be done and the commenters here on Wowhead made that possible!

Every time I tried to 'loot' using the action button, all I got was 'the NPC is in combat' (and I'm still stealthed). This wq makes no sense and I'm passing on it. Ugh.

There would be a simple fix to this wretched WQ; just let players go stealth between the mobs rather than "marching up and down the square" three times. Really a brain dead design.

Ok, this quest is a time suck. TAKE IT SLOW. Also, you CAN stun the dogs and since it's a 30 sec stun with a 5 second CD, you can walk straight down the path. Still takes longer than it should and it's crap that there is no port out once you've gotten the third.

Just so everyone knows, As a Mage I could not blink without loosing my stealth. I have to assume its the same with all similar class type abilities and mounts.

Most annoying quest I have seen in a while.

The only good part about it is once you have collected the 3 items, the special action button turns into a button to return you to the NPC that gives you the stealth in the first place.

The Spider on the Wall is similar to the Wetwork quests in the BfA assaults. An NPC puts you in stealth and you avoid mobs with True-sight.You keep moving until your target appears (as a yellow dot on the mini map), then you kill it.

In The Spider on the Wall you have to travel far from your agent, the Neubian Khaliiq, into the heart of the fortified camp of The Chosen. You will pickpocket your targets (by clicking on them).

Check out the map for this quest (above). There are now dots for Khaliiq and each of your targets.
Khaliiq casts stealth on you and gives you a stun ability, Widow Venom.
As long as you stay out of the blue dotted circle surrounding a mob with True sight, The Chosen will not detect you. They may grunt because they are suspicious.
Run uphill through the tunnel into the camp of The Chosen. Continue along the wide road and go deep into the camp.
As you get closer to each target, you'll see a yellow circle on the mini map. Your targets sparkle. See the screenshots.
Stun any adds near your target with Widow Venom. This is your only ability for this quest. You should be able to stun 2 targets in quick succession.
Click on your target to pickpocket the goods (don't kill the target).
You'll break stealth if you use your own abilities or kill your target. Then you'll have to return to Khaliiq. Worse, if you die, you'll return to your corpse.
When you've completed your quest, if the icon for Widow Venom is still up, click on it. The icon will change into an icon that will get you out of there.

FYI You can just loot the mobs when you kill them while the Elite World Quest is active... you dont need stealth and just loot it from the corpse...

But you must speak to the stealth spider first.

In 16 years of playing Wow, this is easily one of the most frustrating things ever to be walking along or standing waiting for a mob to pass and just get popped out of stealth. I turned off addons, relogged, dropped group and I even swapped my wm talents/aura's in an attempt to stop whatever interaction with the environment or phasing issue was causing me to drop stealth. I don't know if that helped . . . finally completed like an hour later after much screaming. (it's not a stealth thing, I've played a rogue). The game is also dropping my fishing casting and my soulshape buff too. No, I'm not clicking anything or interacting with anything.

This quest is disturbingly time consuming since you can not use speed boosts abilities or pots without breaking stealth.

1) If you are well geared or in a group, it may actually be more beneficial to just kill the mobs and loot them rather than moving slowly at stealth using the quest item to stun them.

2.) If you are not in a group or able to solo and just kill the mobs, use the quest items. One quest item gives you stealth buff passively.
The other quest is to "stun" the mob and then loot them when loot icon appears when you mouse over them.
Try your best to not be seen by the mobs or break stealth otherwise you have to go back and get the stealth debuff from the quest giver, which is not fun due to the long distances between the quest giver and the three mobs.
Like most quests when you are in stealth avoid the mobs with the little detector thing over their heads, avoid getting to close or touching any mob.

This info is based on my doing this quest for the first time last night (12/21/20).

Not too hard, get the buff from the spider dude and go stealth. Head south into the camp. Keep going, it is a little ways. Circles will appear on your mini map denoting the mob locations. Go up to them and use the special action button (from behind preferably) then right click them to loot the item, this does not break stealth. Done in a couple minutes.

This quest is up with Chosen Champions today at EU which makes it nigh impossible to complete since at least 2 of the mobs we are supposed to pick-pocket are targets of the elite quest too and they are tagged/killed on spawn.
Way to go Blizzard on another short-sight...

This quest is up yet again with Chosen Champions on EU starting today it shouldn't be able have both up at once if one of these two is up the other shouldn't be able to spawn at all since getting the bits from the lich and the dude right at the back become near impossible.

So you think this quest is a stealth walk in the park?

Stunning and obtaining quest items from three NPCs is the hard part. Not because it inherently is difficult, but because other players insist on pulling stealth-breaking mobs on you, and they keep attacking the mobs you want to stun.
This forces you to quit the roleplay and start doing like everyone else - start killing if you want to get this WQ done.

Remember world quests where you just needed to kill one rare, in an obvious spot, that everyone could tag and get credit for?

I guess someone decided WQs needed to be more confusing and less fun, based on quests like this:

You can't read the quest text to figure out what to do or where to go, because it's an auto-accept and there's no quest text to read.
Getting to the actual quest area is a pain with a zillion mobs along the way. Even if you try to stealth, it's chaos because other players are scrambling around and mobs are leashing and de-leashing and inevitably run back right on top of you. Why is the quest giver so far away from the quest area?
Then you find the quest mobs, and you don't get credit because you're not in the right warmode on/off and other players tagged it first.

Look, no one is doing world quests because the gameplay is so exciting and fun. They're just busy work, a means to an end. Either make stuff that's actually fun, or keep them simple. Stop making nonsense like this.

just in case it's Chosen Champions day(s):

Before you even hate on players who attack! the ones you have to steal from.. of course one can loot these items off' their corpses too.

So all you would have to assure is that enough players are killing these you have to steal from,
because re-stealthing is not an option unless you are ooc and can vanish back to the point..
which then again would make you have to run from the start again.

And since I've seen many characters run out of there struggling.

Alll you have to do is go somewhere "safe*", remove your stealth buff so that your "sap" ability turns into a "vanish" (*which won't work while in combat) and you can therefore get back to the starting point of the quest once you're done (unless you want to kill the world boss afterwards and do the elite like it's the case today )

(additional note: I'd use those fine @$$ url links on the "sap and stealth" abilities .. but there's 90 minutes to go on this WQ and I got some toons to get through with this one and World Boss / Elite WQ all in the same session, , and be done with this week's 1000 anima >.< plus there are training in and Champions of Maldraxxus callings :D maybe I'll edit this later)

If there is another quest concurrently active in this area, such as Chosen Champions, ~~total friggin' morons~~ other players will be killing the target mobs on sight, and you cannot loot the item you need from these mobs if you aren't cloaked, or if they are in combat. If you're on a highly active server and there's a lot going on in this area, you are better off skipping this WQ.

Be warned. 9 out of 10 people on completing this WQ do the exact same STUPID
thing. They mount up and get chased out of the zone, Said chasers have a really
good chance of screwing up the stealth of people who are still still sneaking their
way along.

Is the stealth supposed to be completely broken? You ask for stealth, but it stops functioning more than about 3 feet from the quest-giver, and he's stationary. How's that supposed to help?

So... If you're a Demonology Warlock and want to do this quest, make sure you don't have the talent, "Inner Demons" because the imps it summons do NOT stealth and will aggro things, which immediately breaks YOU out of stealth.

This quest is damn awful, I even have a marker/pin on the map telling me where to go but it so damn slow and if you un-stealth to get herbs you have to use the extra action button to port back to the start. Sorry but I would rather trap my man bits in a very heavy door than do this world quest.

If you're doing this WQ for the 3 WQ calling, just skip it honestly. Your trainee can just randomly disappear then appear inside an enemies stealth detect circle and in turn automatically pull you out of stealth. The trainee can even walk inside their circles.

I though the WQ was bugged since i was constantly pulled out of stealth until i actually saw my goshdarn follower spawning inside the circles lol

All the comments here pretty much spell it out, this quest is complete garbage.

You get a stealth that seems to break super easy, it doesn't seem to take account of your pets or helpers either.

The quest objectives are WAY inside the compound you won't see them objectives on your map until you get way inside. If for some reason the stealth breaks you have to use a button that will take you all the way back to the beginning and start over. Once you reach those objectives you pick pocket them (using a weird bag symbol).

Complete garbage, tons of comments stating that, yet nothing has been fixed. But yeah, Blizz listens to us....

Unless you really, REALLY need the reward, this is a quest absolutely worth skipping. The amount of time wasted plodding through the absolutely gigantic area at a barely-above-normal-running-speed pace is unbearable.

This quest can not be completed quickly with the Maldraxxus companion "Flytrap". The whole way stealthing he will bug out and immediately attack any mob nearby and then once combat is over, are you good? nope the pack nearest to the mob he followed will be next, he will then saunter over to them and fight them.
Using the retreat action button to return to the NPC for a new stealth will not remove him from combat or despawn Flytrap. You will need to finish combat and quickly click on Fly trap and tell him to go home before he decides to run across the platform or down the hallway and engage another pack of mobs.

After reading some of the comments here, I was a bit apprehensive doing this quest. However, it turned out to not be too tough, just slow. But as my main is a rogue, I am used to moving slow and avoiding the stealth-detectors. I found that you can stun the stealth-detectors from just outside of their detection zone, but you have to be pretty close. So tag them and then watch for the "extra button" to become enabled to stun them. Then you can walk right past them no problem. Note: you can only have one NPC stunned at a time. As soon as you stun something else, the prior NPC will become active again. So use with caution.
Also, I tried this thinking I could be a rogue and doing my rogue-thing. Didn't work, because it didn't show the stealth detection on the hounds, and the pick-pocket doesn't get the item you need for the quest. So you have to use the quest stun function and then loot the target.

thx for that. i came here for an ilvl 194 {Vial of Caustic Liquid}..57 agility + 3,164 nature damage "over 8 seconds........"

now im wondering which boss in CN this vial of caustic liquid's nature damage would be better than the haste energies from my darkmoon voracity. Because my other trinket is Raid Finder BIS.. . although between me & you its a tossup between these and a (high conquest) pvp item!

Looking at the comments on this page, I completely agree that this WQ is very frustrating - and that it's frustrating in general that in this expansion there are a lot of WQs that don't really tell you what to do, and there's no way you would figure it out without coming to wowhead. However, I could be wrong but I suspect that perhaps Bliz hadn't actually intended to make things this way, I think they were struggling this year due to covid (with a lot of people working from home). I remember that when Shadowlands was originally going to come out in October (already a later date than the usual release date of August), Bliz said they felt there were still just too many things that are wrong with the expansion and that they want to change and fix, and so they delayed the release until November. Maybe even by then it still wasn't enough, but maybe they felt that they had already delayed the release too much so they didn't want to delay it further, so perhaps they didn't end up fixing everything they wanted to by the release date. Or I could be wrong, maybe this isn't related to why so many WQs in Shadowlands are frustratingly confusing and lacking in explanations. I can't help feeling like they didn't deliberately intend this though.

There are other things that kind of give me the impression that maybe Bliz were desperately trying to do what they could in order to get the expansion ready in time - like how in Shadowlands they seem to have used the models in-game of a number of different mounts available in the in-game shop. I don't think that they had done this before. In the past, I don't think that they had used models of shop mounts for anything else in the game, probably so that players wouldn't feel like it's a waste of money to buy mounts at the shop if those models are just going to be available otherwise. Like they wanted shop mounts to be unique. But in Shadowlands I've seen them heavily use the Vulpine Familiar model for both mounts and mobs, as well as a unique dragon model from the shop whose name I forget (that dragon is seen a lot in Ardenweald). I could be wrong but to me this feels like they didn't manage to create new models for some mounts and mobs in time, and were desperately borrowing from shop models. Again though, this is just my speculation and I could be completely mistaken.

Takes 5 minutes or less to complete.

- Talk to Khaliq and get stealthed
- Proceed up to the target MOBs:

/way 37.4, 73.0 Requisitioner Kem, Requisitioner's Scroll
/way 33.4, 74.0 Mel'san, Envoy's Letter
/way 35.2, 79.4 Captain Hawken, Patrol Schedule

- Use the extra action button on the MOBs, then loot them. You DO NOT need to kill them or leave stealth.
- When done and the quest complete, use the extra action button to port out of the area back to Khaliq, if you want.

If you're prioritizing quests to do on the axis of time efficiency, this is one you'll want to blacklist. Particularly pre-flight on a non-stealth class. There are quite a few World Quests that will be far less insane when we can fly, but this is among the worst.

Are these the people I'm playing with nowadays? Apparently, "Don't go in guns blazing" and "Don't touch the blue circles" is too much for us now? Get stealth, go where you're not supposed to be, you'll see the guys when you're in range. Get the stuff and get out, took 5 minutes.

Rub your two braincells together and you can figure it out.

Burn me down, I don't care. I came here to see if I could cheese it as a rogue, I didn't expect THIS one to be the quest that was "Literally Hitler". God the way everyone was talking I thought this was going to be like the Rogue Legendary Weapon line, but no there's like one detector every hundred feet, there's SO MUCH ROOM.

There is no killing needed for this quest. It is just stealth in, then you PICKPOCKET the NPCs that are holding the quest items, after you have all 3 items then get to a safe spot and click the button to take you back to the quest giver. Doing the pickpocketing does not make you lose stealth. There are quite a few mobs packed in close together and they respawn instantly so killing everything to do the quest is very time-consuming and not needed. Unless you are a neutron bomb wielding player just do it as intended lol

VERY EASY QUEST - when done correctly!

Recommend doing on 'off-hours' when all the rambo-types are not playing. You do NOT NEED TO KILL ANYTHING! Just stay patient and in stealth, 'zap' the npc and pickpocket them! Quest done in minutes! And NO FIGHTING!

We need to steal (pickpocket) or loot the quest items from three NPCs of interest and there are two ways of completing this quest: (1) either kill the NPCs or (2) sneaking and pickpocketing. For the former, you need good gear and a good class. For the latter, be prepared as it takes some time because NPCs seems to be at random spots.

The minimap map will show you the right NPC if you are close enough, the main map does not! So you are about to search the whole camp. This makes it the most boring quest in the SL. I only take it if I have no other options and/or rewarding is decent; as long as 3x35 anima is still a good reward for the effort.

Like the other commenters this quest confused me. Today I tried to pay attention and it turns out there's a good way to do it. Walk to a captain, stun, loot, walk to the next captain, and so on. You don't drop stealth when you stun or loot!

What makes the quest confusing?

The stealth buff is one of 10 icons on the edge of your screen. You don't notice when you gain or lose a buff
When you loose stealth a "Strategic Retreat" button appears. This means you failed and should go back to Khaliq. But it doesn't say you failed, so you assume it's part of the quest
You assume that stunning and looting puts you out of combat (it doesn't)
You assume you have to bring the stolen things back to Khaliq (you don't)

This quest is just badly made as a world quest.
1. there is no message telling you "you can't be mounted to get stealth from Khaliq" it just silently fails and nothing happens, for anybody not paying close enough attention this says "This is a lore talk option, you have to kill your way through the compound". I didn't get fooled by this but I did spend a while clicking that option from my mount with nothing happening, it should either pop up an error or dismount you.
2. It's a world quest, and it wasn't designed like one, widow venom only works on one target at a time so you can run up to the target that somebody else has sapped and they will unexpectedly and randomly recover from that while you're pickpocketing them early without warning and that means they will attack you and break your stealth.
3. the recall ability ONLY WORKS OUT OF COMBAT, so if you're stuck in the elite area of the house of the chosen and lose stealth, well too bad. On top of that you can't use the recall ability once the quest is finished so either you have to test "does it show up if I break stealth after I'm done?"(as best I know it does not), burn a hearth, or walk all the way out of the place on your own in stealth.
4. If you try and mount up while stealthed it will let you do that, drop stealth which is fine and expected, and then it will automatically dismount you.

None of this is something you can't prepare for if you have the knowledge, keep your hearth up, always sap an enemy even if they're already sapped, dismount, never, ever get caught. But it seems like you're just supposed to learn these things by getting your face caved in by patrols of elite mobs .

As of 7/7/2021 mounting to a flying mount removes the 'sap' feature from button menu.

With flying available druids can do this quest in flight form without loosing stealth.

As of when Flying was implemented, all you need is to talk to the starting NPC, use the following coords (Thank you other posters)

/way 37.4, 73.0 Requisitioner Kem, Requisitioner's Scroll
/way 33.4, 74.0 Mel'san, Envoy's Letter
/way 35.2, 79.4 Captain Hawken, Patrol Schedule

And you don't need to stealth/slow walk. Just be advised that 2 of the 3 NPCs are elite so CC will be mandatory unless your ilevel is extra high or you can solo them.

You can just fly in and kill them. Bit messy as two of them are elite and surrounding by others, but faster than stealthing :D You can just loot the quest items off the corpses.

I've only discovered this today on my new druid alt - this is doable in flight form. I timed it and it took 47 seconds to complete it!
