You will not see rare mark on a map, because you need to activate it
Use Bloody Lump on the ground to summon. It looks like a small pile of meet.
The fight itself can be hard if you don't have dps to kill the Mystery Meat add, because the rare heals if you don't kill it in ~5 secs.

Adventurer of Maldraxxus rare is located in the Maldraxxus The Stabbing Wastes zone.

You need to be level 60 for sure to summon the rare by click the Bloody Lump. Lower levels can click the Blood Lump but NOT span the rare (the rare is 61 level), as I saw it (I was 56). I dont know if you need also to be Necrolord Covenant. The guy who clicked and summoned it was Necro... so if anyone who is not necro and just level 60 click it and tell, would be helpfull.

Tried a few times to get him to spawn yesterday with no success, only the small mobs appeared. Tried again today and had him spawn the first time i clicked the Bloody Lump. I am pretty sure at this point that it's just a random chance for him to spawn when you click it, either that or they fixed a bug. FIY i am not necrolord.

I can confirm that after three attempts at interacting with the Bloody Lump, this rare spawned. I am part of the Kyrian covenant, so it doesn't matter what covenant you're a part of. I believe the spawn to be purely RNG. I was also able to spawn him when I was leveling at level 55--however he popped on my first try and the bloodlouse ate me alive.

I've been farming this thing for a few days. Whenever you click the meat you have a chance to spawn the rare, it's not guaranteed but it's not that rare either, probably somewhere around 50% chance. It's still pretty easy to spawn though because in my experience the respawn time for the meat is short, around 3 to 5 minutes.

I can also spawn the rare with my alt who's not in Necrolords covenant so I don't think covenant matters.

When he spawns, it doesn't necessarely happen instantly when clicking the Bloody Lump, but could also happen when killing one of the adds (Peaceful Bloodlouse), so it might be triggered when a certain number of adds have been killed, which could take several attempts.

Spent over an hour clicking this thing. Rare never spawned - probably 20+ attempts at clicking the Bloody Lump with nothing but a debuff making all of the peaceful bloodlice not so peaceful anymore. I wonder if there is an internal cooldown, if someone had just spawned it before I started, or if it requires a certain number of bloodlouse kills over time. I did this with a friend who also clicked the Bloody Lump a few of the times as well, still nothing. We eventually gave up.

Edit: Came back 2 days later and it spawned the first try, a few seconds after clicking the lump. Not sure why this is so random!

Have been farming for a month now, first time Polished Pet Charm dropped, 49 of them. Will have to look out if other rares that drop pets also drop charms now.

After reading here, I decided to try and spawn him. Clicked the "Bloody Lump", got a debuff, bugs around became hostile and Smorgas spawned.

He dropped some anima and a Festering Larva pet, P/B version.

EDIT: I use rare scanner add on. It does NOT detect always notify me he spawned. I am not sure why. I was clicking the lump and waiting for the add-on to notify me, if I didn't get the horn, I just ran away. I actually saw him the most recent time, even though my add-on did not sound.

Smorgas appears not only from the Bloody Lump itself, but also from the tiny adds you kill. Make sure to kill all of them asap. Smorgas can pop up on the very last one.

You need to click on the Bloody Lump, which gives you a debuff called Examine for 60 seconds that will make all of the Peaceful Bloodlouse turn into Ravenous Bloodlouse.

To get Smorgas the Feaster to spawn, he has a random chance each time you attack one of the Ravenous Bloodlouse. He does not spawn every time, and sometimes you can get him to spawn twice if you are able to attack more Ravenous Bloodlouse after you kill him the first time.

I've been farming the Corpselouse Larva & Feasting Larva from this Mob. I'm currently on attempt 45 61, of actually having him spawn when clicking on the Bloody Lump. Typically he seems to spawn about 1/3 of the time.

Tip: If you are farming this on repeat. Wait a moment when the Bloody Lump respawns and wait for more Bloodlouse to spawn with it.

Drops:
Tempered Carapace - 70g 42s per stack of 200
Engorged Venom Sac - 251g 72s per stack of 200

So at least you'll gather a bit of gold as you are farming. I currently have 1175 Temered Carapace & 378 Engorged Venom Sac while farming for this pet.

I thought Smörgås was bugged as I have killed him every day while camping Tahonta, but I finally got Feasting Larva today after 33 attempts, so it DOES exist.

How to spawn him:

Every time you AGGRO one of the small mobs, he has a chance to spawn, so this is how you do it:

1 - click the bloody lump
2 - aggro all small mobs around but DO NOT KILL ANY
3 - if the rare spawns, good job, otherwise RESET all the mobs (shadow meld, run away, invisibility)
4 - go back to step 2 or step 1

I'm farming this Corpselouse Larva daily but have yet to see it drop.
The other pet Feasting Larva dropped 4 times already. Could Corpselouse Larva be tied to Necrolord only? Or am I just unlucky...

Update : Pet finally dropped. So it's definately not bound to Necrolord only.

TL;DR - Go to Maldraxus > Click Bloody Lump > Pray to RNGesus for this rare spawn > Repeat every 3 minutes.

Hello all, I decided to farm this rare for the pet and I wanted to share my findings with everyone.

You spawn this rare by clicking the Bloody Lump that's on the ground. The spawn is pure RNG and there is nothing external going on.
You click - you have a chance for him to spawn. That's it.
Here are the co-ordinates. Please note - there will not be a rare mark on your minimap until you click and spawn the rare himself.

A few things I've deduced (see table below).

Covenant doesn't matter for the rare spawn or any of the pet drops.
You can try to spawn the rare every 3 minutes, almost on the dot.
Depending on your DPS, Bloody Lump spawns quicker than Peaceful Bloodlouse mobs, allowing you to skip killing them every other click.
There's a pulsating "blood spot" on the ground next to Bloody Lump. Whether this is visible or not is irrelevant for the spawn.
Standing on/off the "blood spot" also doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter if Peaceful Bloodlouse mobs are alive or not. (this currently gives undergeared rogues/night elves an advantage)
This rare, like other SL rares can drop Polished Pet Charms, however the drop chance is super low. Note - this is not unique to this rare.

I see people mention camping this one back to back. I assumed though you could only kill it once a day per character for a chance at the pet? Has anyone gotten the either pets after the first kill of the day?

Some observations (after 200+ account-wide attempts): The Lump of meat spawns exactly 3 minutes after it was last activated. . Smorgas the feaster spawns approximately once every 3-5 events this can be greatly enhanced by killing "Ravenous Bloodlouse's" (others indicate simply agro may be enough). In my experience killing between 30 and 50 frequently causes the next round to be one where Smorgas is active. You have exactly 1 minute to kill/agro as many bloodlice as you can, then all active suddenly become peaceful and are no longer available to pad your count.

So for most opportunities:

1) Click Lump of meat as often as It is available (3 min timmer)
2) Clear as many "Ravenous Bloodlouse" as you can in 1 minute.
3) Smorgas appears at the beginning of a round only occasionally; so kill as many of his minions as you can till the 1 minute peace flag is raised.
He can spawn at any time as you kill up to the required number of his minions.
4) Do NOT click the Lump of meat while Smorgas is active it does no good.

5) pray to the RNG gods that you are not in the group that has to kill multiple times the 1 in 100 it has taken many of us.

The spawn timer for this rare is very short. I successfully spawned him in less than 5 minutes from his previous spawn by using the following technique:

1. Click the Bloody Lump
2. Drop combat as quickly as possible
3. Mount
4. Aggro adds
5. If Smorgas doesn't spawn, fly up to get out of combat
6. Repeat until Smorgas spawns

If you lose the debuff, Meaty Explosion, start the process again.

Can anyone confirm if he can drop pets if you kill him multiple times on the same day? I have now killed him 66 times in the last two days. Neither pet has dropped. Thanks

PS. Even after you kill him kill any of the little guys that are left. I have spawned him twice in a row doing this many times

Seems like you can only get a drop once per day per character, can anyone confirm this?

For those of you farming this mob, I believe that you can only get drops once a day, and toons will need to be level 52 or higher to get 'drop table' loot. Lower level toons will get junk drops (i.e. no anima tokens). Happy to be wrong, but I would assume that toons under level 52 cannot get the pet.

The only thing needed for him to spawn is that you are wearing the meat buff. I farm him for pet sales on several toons, so have done this thousands of times. Twice I've spawned him back to back, when he spawned immediately, I burned him fast, still had the meat buff, and he spawned again. Not that it matters, because you can only loot once a day. But it shows that as long as the meat buff is on you he can spawn, on these back to back spawns all the small mobs had already been killed, so there weren't even any of them present when he spawned. So he has no cooldown, little mobs don't need to be aggro'ed, killed, or even present. It's random as long as you have the meat buff.

I've been farming this and have over 200 kills and it is super annoying when people don't understand how this spawns... STOP KILLING ADDS, get buff drop combat(even walking away far enough works), mount up, go through mobs which seems to be what triggers the rare, if it doesn't spawn fly up to drop combat and try again, rinse and repeat, it will spawn every time if you do this... when you kill adds you are lessening your chance for it to spawn and extending the respawn time. I have seen a few comments about just needing the buff, but I have been around for so many trigger happy people who blast every add and once all the adds are gone he doesn't spawn, BUT if adds stay up and you drop combat and walk through them he WILL spawn. Hope this helps!

I started farming this guy for the pets and did not pay lots of attention, just one more grind to get a rare drop pet. However, Smorgas is an interesting one. I always look through the comments carefully to see what works best as I do the grinds but there are three basic threads of thought if you go through all the comments. One is do nothing and Smorgas will spawn, the other is the aggro makes him spawn and the third, killing the blood lice makes him spawn. The aggro theory is the most popular, but I have not seen anyone spend much time on their success rate using aggro. I have been after this pet for a long time too and several hundred kills under my belt and have six of the other pets, but no luck on the rare one as of yet. I have been very lucky on some other rare drops so this one taking seemingly forever is just part of it. Since my luck has not been the best on this one, I keep returning to the comments and have played around looking for what actually works best and I do have some conclusions hopefully worth noting. First, the "do nothing" and it spawns thing is absolutely correct, Smorgas does spawn just randomly sometimes. Easy to confirm because he sometimes spawns the instant you click on the bloody lump before you have chance to kill anything or get any aggro. So here is one of the problems, if he randomly spawns sometimes no matter what you are doing, how do you separate those random spawns out of the spawns that are generated by what you are doing? I tried getting completely out of the way and doing nothing to see how often Smorgas would randomly spawn and my best estimate is that he spawns around 10% of the time regardless of anything you do or don't do. As for the aggro theory, I played with that one a lot as well and that is the one that actually has the least credibility in my mind. I found that using purely aggro, Smorgas only spawned about 10% of the time and also importantly, I personally have never observed Smorgas to spawn twice in the same go when using only aggro. You see where I am going here, if he randomly spawns 10% of the time and he spawns about 10% of the time using aggro, maybe those are the same thing and aggro does not make any difference. That leaves the "damage to the blood lice makes him spawn" theory. I tried some different alts and I settled on my hunter that is parked there until I get this frick'in pet. I click on the bloody lump and shoot the lice one at a time. My results using this method are that I get Smorgas to spawn about 25% of the time for each time I click on the bloody lump. However, in addition, very often after I kill Smorgas, there are plenty of the blood lice left around. So, I start killing them one by one again and Smorgas will spawn again, so I get to kill him a 2nd time and get a 2nd chance for the drop. I have gotten pets to drop (not the rare one) from the 2nd spawn as well so worth getting Smorgas to spawn the 2nd time. After killing Smorgas the initial time, the number of blood lice left running around varies very widely so it is hard to quantify how often you can get him to spawn the 2nd time, but I am roughly getting him to spawn a 2nd time at a rate of about 25%. Overall, these are way better results than the other two theories out there so is what I have settled on using.
