Definitely my Truefaith Vestments. I spent weeks gathering the materials for those after I hit 60.
Not really an epic drop, but killing Shade of Aran for the first time (pre-nerfs). Guild had done several attempts on him, coming close several times, but the time we actually downed him, I believe there were 3 people still alive (me not being one of them). As his life decreased and watched the healer go OOM, I didn't really have much hope, but our rogue and druid were able to squeak it out. When we saw him fall, vent was filled with cheers and screams of joy. I know it doesn't mean much now, but back when BC had just come out, that was a heck of a fight. I don't even remember the loot from that night, but that was one of the most epic moments in WoW for me.
Most guilds skipped straight to Sunwell when the big nerf came with 3.0. Mine didn't. We had been working diligently on BT and Hyjal with a new group and were 4/5 MH and 7/9 BT. So when the nerf came around, we kept going. The Illidari Council had been giving us some serious trouble pre-nerf, and wasn't a cake-walk even post nerf. Darkshadow, the rogue, kept getting away from his tank, annoying the other ones, and then plowing through healers like dominoes. Having recently abandoned my warlock in favor of my prot paladin, I was the new tank on the block, so even though I'd picked up Supremus when he dropped our MT and was elected to tank Illidan not five minutes after the kill, this other tank was allowed one last shot at tanking the rogue. I'd already made my macro to RD the rogue off the healers, and did when I saw him getting away from the other tank. Still let the other tank take him back though; I didn't want to create a problem, just finish the fight in one piece. Sure enough, we finally take them out. The Leggings of the Forgotten Conqueror were among the loot. All priests healing the raid, two or three warlocks, our paladin officer, and me. I rolled like crap and resigned myself to continuing to run around in my Wrynn Dynasty Greaves (I told you I was the new guy... what I failed to mention is that as a result, my gear ranged in quality from the Mark of the Ravenguard up to the Gauntlets of Enforcement). After all, if I could lose a roll for my T5 helm on my lock with a 98, then surely I could, and WOULD, lose my shot at T6 with anything less... Only I didn't. I was absolutely beside myself with glee. Those pants are the one, single item that followed me all the way to 80. I only recently replaced them with a pair of blues from the Argent Crusade. Even Tempered Saronite, which replaced much of the rest of my gear, regardless of source, couldn't beat them for def and avoidance. They're still chilling in my bank, even.
My most epic drop was Glowing Brightwood Staff. I was grinding mobs in Felwood and it dropped. Man, was I excited.
My most "epic" loot drop took almost a year and a half to receive. Back when Burning Crusade first same out, I was one of the first mages on my server to loot the Nethrazim Mindblade off of Prince in Karazhan. It was my pride and joy back then. Soon, we moved onto bigger and better things. We killed Gruul and I never saw a sword drop. We cleared SSC with Leo never dropping his sword. I cleared TK with no weapon upgrades. Defeated Illidan and never was lucky enough for a staff drop. I farmed all of these instances so much and every week until Sunwell came out. We spent hours on Kalecgos, days on Brutallis, and weeks on Felmyst...all while I was drooling over the Magister's staff I had seen warlocks on my server looting. Finally, on our first Felmyst kill, the staff dropped! My heart lept in my throat...would I really, finally replace my Karazhan dagger? I held my breath as I bid on it. My high amount of dkp slowly getting smaller with each bid up from other casters in my guild. I decided I'd go all in! I used all of my dkp and was swiftly rewarded with the best staff in the game! It was definitely my most epic loot. And, to add a bit of irony...on that same night, we went to farm Gruul for a DST for one of our rogues. Me, exploding damage meters with my radiant new staff! What should drop? Well, 1 year 4 months 2 weeks and 5 days after my first Gruul kill, the sword I had wished for and longed for finally dropped. I was laughing so hard that tears were running down my face. My friends were laughing at how cruel the Blizzard Gods can be to me. So, that night, my true epic drop was the Bloodmaw Magus-Blade that I proudly wore in Orgrimmar that night!
The most epic loot drop i've ever gotten, have had to be when i was lvl 60 and raiding in the good old days, when me and other members of a long forgotten guild manged to do the final step of the quest for The Greatstaff of the Guardian. Where my 15 minutes of fame with Andonisus, Reaper of Souls (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=22736) happend i Stratholme. I know it isnt a real "Loot" but man, i have lived happily ever after. It was GREAT! :)
The most epic thing i ever did was killing a entire raid with arcane explosion( not 25 man but 40 man)it was me (as mage) another mage and 2 priests.we ran to Blackrock mountain and a entire raid was at the door, The only thing i saw was the Hk´s popping in my screen...that was for sure a Epic day.
I remember,The day my hunter looted the legendary Bow from kil'jaeden Last boss of sunwell. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34334http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=25315I was extremely happy,That I got such an "epic" item.It was the best day of my life.
