Despite it being broken as hell it also felt broken during wod i lvled 20 alts during wod. They have put more effort into us being able to bypass buying a character boost (not that i ever have, only used the free ones given with each expansion). The broken XP was trivial it fast tracked peoples leveling, isnt stopping me from grinding time walking for the mount just making it take longer so I cant continue my daily korthia grind on multiple alts which has consumed my life because of this lovely expansion design. How about we hot fix some of the stupid SL stuff instead? Like why do I have to unlock the archivist on EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER. Its a tedious question chain. Yet the shard or domination vendor has a ghost there on my alts. For gear i wont ever get because i dont have time for dungeons and raids
The very problem this show Is "why peoples want to level fast" and the thing Is the game design encourage that, the real game Is not the game but only the end-game and that was more on Blizzard size with the current game dessign
Kek who the heck ever gave a definition of “proper” amount of experience per dungeon. All you can state is relative rate of completion but that in itself is based upon how blizzard viewed leveling at that point in WoW. And like right now more than ever leveling is objectively worthless for an established player. I’ve leveled up 6 allied races since the revamp (most as healers) and I can say the piecemeal but thoughtful upgrades to spells was very needed and helped me get healer flow easier. But honestly such a change should have come with WoD/Legion. The community just wants max level characters to do the only things in which are being iteratively worked on and to increase their luck chance for stuff. If you wanted leveling you should have played classic (or tbcc now without the level boost) and level up without memes.
I mean, there was nothing wrong with leveling alts faster.... we are 1 year into the expansion and the only people who whould have "exploited" this are those with 10-15 alts.... personally i have 8 toons at 60 and another 5 at 50, no way im leveling again in threads of fate tho...its just boring mindless grind designed to literally waste my time.
The thing that Blizzard needs to understand is that players that already leveled 2 or 3 characters through the 9.0/9.1 want to play (on any of the NEW alts) at the lvl 60 from the get go. For these players, leveling to 60 is not fun anymore. They have seen the content already quite a few times. They know what to expect by now. They just want to log in, create a new character and start lvl 60 content. Everything they have to do before that, feels like a waste of time. Its 2021 and not 2005. People don't want to grind experience the same way they were doing many years ago. Leveling should feel fast paced and not forced. After all, the "meat" of the game is the lvl 60 content and the so called "endgame". Is leveling currently faster then it was years ago ? Of course it is. Does it still feel slow ? Of course it does. Leveling through the dungeons should give you between 70-75% of a level. You will have to do it a few times more then you might like and you won't get it at the 1.5 level per dungeon but it won't be as slow as it is now. At the same time the experience from quests could be also scaled up to the similar level. This way you would have more people playing alts. This does not make the game easier or anything. It just lets the player "play the game" instead of "grind, grind, grind so eventually I can play the game". There is plenty of grind at the lvl 60 content already. No need to slow players progress before they reach that point.
Still not enough, can we have back the 1 level for 1 dungeon like we always had before SL ? There is no sense to this nerf.
Hard to know to how to feel about this 50% increase. On one hand it demonstrates self awareness and communication from the devs which is always nice. And I appreciate if the bug worked as they described, they had to fix it because eventually even though it might have taken months, people would realize that TW Experience wasn't consistent between expansions.HoweverI'm pretty sure that even post nerf TW dungeons were still giving a greater XP value than SL dungeons, probably due to the bug described above.Had they not done this "50% increase" people would have just said they'd nerfed the values even more once they realized the difference.so while the "50%" increase sounds nice on paper, it really isn't much of a greater value than what people had after the nerf they did this week.Meaning if you weren't doing TW after the nerf this isn't really much more incentive for you to do so.That being said I think everyone's got a bit of bias, any amount will seem like a pittance after gorging yourself on what was before.I can only hope that by the .5 patch(if we get one blizzard). will have reexamined 50-60 by increasing threads XP or letting us upgrade heirlooms to 60.
Even though only doing 7 dungeons and getting 60 with it is kinda too much, it'd be great if blizzard would just give everyone that has reached 60 on one character a account wide xp buff especially since heirlooms are not there anymore to give us extra xp. If you want to level your alts and especially if you have a lot you're just **** right now. So even though the xp for timewalking was insane it felt actually pretty good to be able to lvl your alts to max level fast and try out different specs / covenants.
My alt doesnt have gear, cant q into dungeons in shadowlands, timewalking was a decent choice, but not going to do tw whole week to make a level 50-60 character.
Given how long it takes to do timewalking dung (30mins on a good day, 1hr on a bad) 50% of xp bar is disgustingly low. Its like half as efficient as just questing, which sucks.
Puts it on par with regular dungeons then..
"Increased to what it should be "Still not worth doing unless you enjoy TWing
Wow I guess a lotta people are just riveted by the amazing content that is Threads of Fate, lol"Dear Blizzard, thank you for making this boring slog take 5 times longer! That's "proper" and keeps those numbers up for you which is what we the customers are here for!".
People really were thinking that getting over a level per dungeon was intentional? lol. Hey, they listened to us when we talked about it not being enough xp, which some could argue that it was just fine even with the original hotfix. So I feel like the additional hotfix to revert it somewhat is simply a bonus. I feel like if the xp is similar to SL dungeons or higher, then there is no need to change it, and it is more than a SL dungeon. No complaints from me, but then again, I play both classic and retail, so the idea that you can get a level within a handful of dungeons is plenty fast for me regardless.
