Reddit comment from 2016

This is called a "reclining nude" - made famous by Renaissance Master Titian. Nearly every famous painter after him has had their own rendition of a reclining nude, it's almost a right of passage.

That being said, this is not a strictly erotic painting. Note the faint Harem pants covering her legs, and the cloth covering her face and lower arms. More than likely this would be a painting of the lady of the house. Although she is sexualized, it is more to display the power of her husband - he has the money and strength to not only have a babe, but also hire a painter to paint her beautiful figure.

Also note the craqueleur of the painting - literally the cracks on the surface of the oil paint (almost always happens to oil paintings). Although craqueleur can happen nearly immediately (as oil never technically 'dries') for it to be this extent would require a good deal of age of the painting. This furthers my belief that the painting has remained in the possession of the manor for a rather long time, helping me understand its a member of the household.

Lastly paintings were brought to lords of various noble women to marry (like tinder in the Middle Ages), and they would pick the best babe - this could be her betrothal painting. This isn't very likely however, because these paintings would be very non-erotic, dressed in full court regalia usually. Just another possible thought.

Imagine spending human resource on this

Comment by Aerisot

Lol, so dumb.

Why don't we just take all the blood and cursing out while we are at it!

Actually let's take it one step further and just rename the game World of Craft, because clearly War isn't designed for children.

What an ironic way to show that you're a progressive company, by covering up women

Sexy goblin pinup calendar up next?

Comment by Metalchic

Yeah that'll convince people you've really changed Blizzard. Oh wait no it won't.

Comment by j4398ja12784

Wow this is seriously stupid.

Comment by Lizinator

Ok seriously? This is getting ridiculous and laughable. THESE are the changes you're making? If anything, isn't it shaming people who LIKE to show off a little? What next? Have to change what the toons wear in the dressing room b/c it shows too much? Smh. I'm disgusted. This is an overreaction to some bad stuff that happened.

Comment by Skulltar

What a joke.

Comment by Clawmarks

A change that comes so late, it's difficult to call it "welcome." Nevertheless, better late than never, and the resolution upgrade is nice!

I say keep the Succubus (especially the Fel version with pants!), and give us a sexy Incubus as an option to go with it!

Comment by Ironyman

I explained the changes to the achievement names and similar changes Blizzard have made recently (like the Diablo 2 character model changes), to my progressive mom, and she agreed it sounded really stupid. So yeah, this is just dumb!(##RESPBREAK##)272##DELIM##Uchur##DELIM##

Let's hope they have very strict dress code at blizzcon and kick out anyone of any gender who is too revealing or dressed inappropriately because thats what really matters in this stop showing this stuff irl in public uncencored alot more dmging in any way vs art in a game.

$%^&mogs are soon gonna be gone too rip.

Comment by Praelia

this is beyond stupid.

And like that the needless censorship of everything in the world of friendly craft no war here. No skin either. This wont stop anyone from seeing Blizzard as the sexist and depraved workplace. If anything it makes it more obvious how desperate they are to try and deceive us into thinking its all fixed.

Comment by Chaxton

This is genuinely an unnecessary change. Higher quality is a welcome change, but at the cost of pointless censorship? Scrap it, start over, and keep it accurate. This isn't harmful, this isn't stripping power, it isn't (entirely) erotic. Art is art, and censoring art is a petty thing no matter how you try to justify it. Well, excluding genuinely illegal "art", but still.
