Sylvanas getting an undeserved redemption arc and stealing the player's glory is a double chef's kiss for terrible storytelling.
I thought we were finally done with Sylvanas and Shadowlands. Kinda lame that we're getting both back all at once.
The first 2 expacs of the trilogy so far have been so butts story wise. Where are the dragons, where are the Earthen? Why are the Horde literally an afterthought when it takes place in one of the Major Horde cities? Whoever wrote this story needs to be removed from the team or learn more of the lore because at this point it's the worst story in warcraft history, which is crazy seeing as WoD and Shadowlands exist...
I'm really enjoying the lore and storytelling. The lore of WoW is the main reason I play. I am glad Sylvanas is still serving out her penance and I agree the shadowlands does seem strangely too ordered. In wow there is always a counterforce to every power, I hope if we explore more about shadowlands and what's wrong with it, we will finally hear about what leads Life. (Maybe a life pantheon? Mayne Elune is one of the gods over life). I cried seeing Vereesa hug Sylvannas. Having siblings myself I get wanted to see a family member who has done terrible things finally start to take steps in the right direction and that feeling of seeing them be a part of themselves after so long. My friends that truly read the books and lore and keep on top of what's going on have really been enjoying the lore the past few expansions. Im so excited to see Azeroth herself soon!
what was the point of us being called Maw Walker, a unique term based on the fact it is extremely hard/impossible to escape the Maw, when boring &*!@#$-magnet sylvanas can come and go as she pleases
I ain't reading all that but LONG LIVE SYLVANAS.
I guess the Shadowlands seeming...shadey...makes sense with where it's positioned in the Cosmic chart we've had for years. It shares a similar location to the Emerald Dream, but doesn't truely match up with other cosmic forces.Maybe it'll make as much sense and the FEL empowered warlocks having VOIDwalkers pet, lol
All the whining omg. Is ANYTHING ever decent enough for you guys? I think the story is okay. Not astonishingly good, not awe-inspiring, but it's pretty okay and enjoyable. I like Sylvanas' return, I like the cosmic plot, I like Xalatath's machinations, I continue to be intrigued where this is going -- and to me that's the point in storytelling.AND huge W for me that they gave up on the cringe of making the player the huge victor and hero of all times, I like this new direction where we assist much bigger characters than us and only observe major plot points. I started to get tired of the million foes that could not measure up to our power. Like man I'm a random NB warlock from Suramar pls don't let me be the one who kills all the bad guys with the most unimaginable powers in the universe, nonsense lol.Tldr: I like the story so far.
The story has gotten way better since Metzen's return. is it perfect? Nope. Has it ever been perfect? Nope. All the whiners and complainers are the ones that lament the past and feel WoW ended with the death of Arthas.
I really hope the writing gets better next patch, or expansion because I did not expect much but I'm still disappointed. I hate Garrosh but Sylvanas did much worse stuff, yet she gets this and Garrosh almost got a quest where you have to desecrate his grave.
The only hope to fix this game is to retcon absolutely everything that came after Legion, as in DIDN'T HAPPEN AT ALL (and of course go scorched earth and fire everyone and start from zero), then fill that company with the old guys as to bring the old WARCRAFT feel back and PURGE the "modern audience" tone of the game.
LONG LIVE SYLVANAS! Dark Queen Be With Me.
