The Pale Hexscale pet has a chance to be pushed as loot on defeats of Ral'kala at The Coiled Isle in Midnight's 12.1 Patch "Curse of Ula'tek".

This is a Prey-related foe, so you want to unlock your Season 2 Preyhunter's Journey Rank 1 to enable the activation of the Whispers from De Other Side buff when it comes to his loot. It's required to activate a Nightmare Prey at The Coiled Isle, or a special Prey: Curse of the Isle mode for you while in this zone to see and fight Ral'kala. To toggle this mode, speak to Image of Astalor Bloodsworn at Tokka's Landing. /way #2512 58.21 48.72 Image of Astalor

The fights are public events, so everyone with Prey: Curse of the Isle active can help spawn him or participate in the fight. To spawn Ral'kala, players have to burn a total of 98x Ossified Relic at a Haunted Brazier (the brazier's progress bar starts at 1% and disappears at 99% ;-) which are shown as blue brazier icons on your world map. When the bar is full, Ral'kala will attack immediately, but has a Delayed Demise aura that makes him immune for 15 seconds, so don't use all your CDs directly. Still, he has to be attacked, because otherwise he will despawn after the 15-second immune phase, and the Ossified Relic are lost. (Hopefully they'll change that)

Be aware that you'll only get your Whispers from De Other Side buff for your rewards when you at least burn 1x Ossified Relic at the Haunted Brazier, which can probably be very stressful on busy servers. (Because the braziers despawn with their progress bar full, so there is yet no way to burn something during the fight.)

You can obtain Ossified Relic while in the Prey: Curse of the Isle mode, they have skull icons on your minimap and can be collected. They also drop from Ral'kala and probably other activities. But there's also a very lucrative acquisition method while in or outside of that mode at The Coiled Isle, as we have the Daily Quest Prey: Anguish from Beyond that rewards 100x Ossified Relic, and to my surprise, that's repeatable with other characters.

Unimaginative imprint of the utterly superbe Death Adder Hatchling (Timeless Isle).

This pet falls down simply in that it is a P/P only breed.
And represents the "Jobs Worth" mentality of how the few combat pets well see trickle in to our journals in future will look.

As a P/P breed denies it all the qualities that a S/S DAH wields.
* Initiative to control the encounter
* Massive burst Damage
* Nuke Evasion

Now that Blizz have discarded the criminally underated and scorned Battle Pet system this is little more than a triviality and not worth the effort to farm.

Don't think I'm being bitter here,
Check out my main on Armoury I have every battle pet achievement (bar 5000 PvP win cuz I value life itself) and close to 1900 Unique battle pets.
But now we are abandoned as a sub-community within WOW thus should we ignore the crap they peddle for content.
