Just dropped this mount first try from a bird elite rare i came by being killed at 5% hps lmao. Fastest mount to get. Also probably a world first drop lol

To anyone hoping to farm these on alts that have also completed the main campaign, you can choose the "skip" option at Liadrin when beginning your Midnight adventure to jump straight into the new zones and to bypass the intro. You'll have the portals to both Voidstorm and Harandar unlocked on any fresh alts and you can fly freely between Eversong Woods and Zul'aman. I have been bringing some alts in slowly to increase my farming odds and have been able to start farming as soon as I port into Silvermoon when skipping the intro without having to complete any other questing.

The drop rates for these seem to be fairly low. I am up to about 300 kills across all the rares and have only seen one drop from the Voidstorm rares for myself and multiple groups where I would see no single drop across all the rares in the zone with multiple people in the group. So be prepared that this could take a while! These have been proven to drop on characters below level 90 and I can confirm that these are not on a weekly lockout as I received it on a character that had already killed a rare twice in the week. These are however daily lockouts per each rare.

Some extra things:

Starting groups helps a lot and also helps others out! These rares seem to have a 15-30+ minute spawn timer or possibly more, so having groups up helps everyone out and also makes it easier for callouts.
If not in a group, I find it super helpful to call out waypoints in the local chat to give others a chance for a tag.

Dropped from pterrox on my lvl 90. I think it dropped for my husband lvl 85 either from annulus or mindrot, can't really remember.

These less-than-0,5%-droprates really annoy me. There are 8 mounts in Midnight that have this droprate from rares. The average player will never ever get them all, since on average it will require (ten)thousands of kills to get them all.

Absolutely insane. I'm currently sitting at 422 kills across two characters and still haven't seen a drop. Looking at the crowdsourced data, these drop rates seem to be hovering around 0.1% or even lower for some of these rares. This is just way too low. I really hope Blizzard considers a hotfix to increase these rates or adds some form of bad luck protection. This is becoming a second job rather than a game – except that a real job would actually pay me for my time, instead of just rewarding me with warbound items and broken dreams

It's finally over !
After a big month of farming, I finally got all 8 mounts...

A quick recap of my grind for those who like stats :
My experience seems to confirm an average drop rate of around 1/500, with a grand total of 3980 attempts for the whole.

Meanwhile, my farming friends have the following rates :
- the lucky one : the 8 mounts in about 2100 attempts (blessed be he)
- the average one : 4 mounts in just under 2000 try.

The journey was particularly long, especially for the last one, which required 1946 attempts... If you want to collect all 8, know that it's all down to you and your luck.

Finally I got all 8 midnight open world mounts, so here are my observations and statistic:

All rares are eligible to drop one of two mounts in a zone. Once a mount drops, it probably removes it from the loot pool, since i didn't get any duplicates.

Total of 2377 kills for all 8 mounts, droprate avarage for a mount is 0,4%

Eversong:
Falcostruz Cerúleo dropped after 915 attempts
Falcodrago de Cobalto dropped after 111 attempts

Zul'aman:
Garraguda Amani dropped after 729 attempts
Pango Cascasseca Fugitivo dropped after 828 attempts

Harandar:
Malevolince Espreitarraiz dropped after 345 attempts
Petalasa Vibrante dropped after 437 attempts

Voidstorm:
Trovarraia Aprimorada dropped after 108 attempts
Consternador Sanguíneo dropped after 197 attempts

I know drops vary for every person here are mine. I've been killing the rares once a day. I read somewhere there was a daily limit but not a weekly limit. Not sure of those numbers but to be safe, once a day killing rares.

I have collected all 8 at last and I'm sharing my pain, I mean my observations:

Eversong:
Cobalt Dragonhawk: 166 attempts
Cerulean Hawkstrider: 1895(!) attempts

Voidstorm
Augmented Stormray: 158 attempts
Sanguine Harrower: 168 attempts

Harandar
Rootstalker Grimlynx: 757 attempts
Vibrant Petalwing: 742 attempts

Zul Aman
Amani Sharptalon: 1884(!) attempts
Witherbark Pango: 1269 attempts

The majority of these dropped for my main and first character to kill the rares each day, but three of them dropped for alts, two of which were sub 90. As I got to the last couple that I needed I was running up to 16 characters a day. The last mount dropped for my 13th alt so hopefully that helps clear up whether there are max daily attempts or similar theories.

It was an awful grind but it can be done, even if RNG seems to be against you!

I have finally looted my last mount and let me tell you, getting 8/8 is one hell of a grind. The droprate is absolutely horrible, and I feel like I was on the lucky side.

Here is the list of my attempts to help with the samplesize / droprates:

got Vibrant Petalwing from killing Chironex - I do it almost daily but honestly I only kill rares if I come across them, nice suprise while skinning ^^

Okay, so I think they increased the drop chance of these. I initially got my first 3 (both from Voidstorm and another from ZA) just by leveling characters and casually killing rares. I got these in under 100 attempts combined. Today (5/27/26), I really wanted to start grinding them, as I saw a lot of people were at 1000+ attempts.

My method was: Multiboxing with four accounts, two characters using Sandstone Drake and the other two riding. I used a fifth account to park in whatever zone I was farming to help with server hopping. Granted, I played for about ~8 hours today straight and probably used ~80 characters, I wound up getting the other five mounts I needed during that time.

Three week ago, I got both mounts from Eversong, Zul' Aman, one from each of the other two. The common denominator, 6 out of 8 mounts, each time, I killed it solo. Now, trying for the virbrant petalwaing, jeez. I go over and wait for one to spawn, as soon as it comes up and I start, 6 people come out of nowhere, pulling it all over the place, and I haven't seen a drop once in Harandar or Voidstorm. All hours of the day and night. It truly doesn't take a pack of 10 people to kill these things, the odds are just worse every time.
