Acho que o melhor lugar para farmar o mascote realmente é em Silithus.
Há dois vermes Dragasmaga e Dragataca que são bem fáceis de serem encontrados lá e com uma boa taxa de drop da Sacola Gosmenta.

eu acabei tendo uma grande sorte e dropei após matar uns 5 vermes xp´~

mas não é um mascote para vc usar muito por ai, ele diminui todas suas resistências por 20 xp´~ e isso não é muito agradável

pelo menos vc dificilmente vai esquecer de tira-lo pq o efeito no seu char é bem aparente ^^'

I'm a pet collector, I have every single pet available in the game and I must say that this is my fav. It's cute and attracts a lot of attention. Plus the greenish aura makes lots of people stop to cure me from poison or disease. There's one disadvantage people should know about though: this pet is very noisy. The constant, bubbling sound is cool at first but becomes a real pain later. In raids or in cities, be prepared for complaints from people standing nearby.

Disgusting Oozeling is one of the most rare and special pets in game.
The only pet that have a buff effectthat turns the user green when you bring up the pet it also emitts a slimy sound around you.

Oozeling all over the world at higher levls have 10% chanse to drop a oozeling bag with random items in. There is a 1% chanse that this pet appears in that bag, this makes the pet have a 0.1% drop chanse from oozeling.

I love this little guy. :) He's my precious oozy and I loves him.

Go to BRD and get the Ale, and then throw it at oozy and see what happens :) He emotes!!! "Disgusting Oozeling guzzles the ale" and then he burps! Oh he's so funny.

However, I can't take him on a guild run because of the debuff. Originally the debuff stayed on you the entire time, but now it fades off and on the whole time you have him out. Also, if you accidentlly throw the ale where he can't get to it, like on a ledge... he will sit there and spam his emote until the mug disappears. He won't even follow you any more, just sits there and spams chat for a good 3 minutes.

I picked up mine farming Felcloth in Felwood (one of the Jadefire guys dropped it). This pet is stictly for its "coolness" factor and definitely not used during raids or while grinding.

They used to sell for mega-gold, but the price has fizzled quite a bit. If you find one, don't bother putting them up on AH. Take'em out and have fun!

I went to farm this in felwood when i had free time, while waiting for BM for Elixir Mastery Specialization Quest.

Wasn't expecting it to come out of the first bag I got. Only 32 kills, and a bag dropped. I was amazed as hell that I got it. Still thinking if i should equip it :) (Fuck it, I'm equipping it :D )

If you are a druid you can shapeshift to a form and back and the green aura goes away. You're not cured of the debuff, but no more greenish hue!

The green effect is permanent again now, they fixed it a few patches ago. The effect makes some spells look pretty neat, summoning with this pet out makes the spell effect look very neat.

I got mine from Ooze in Un'Goro crater, i didn't look for it, ooze attacked me first... My friends always tell me that I am luckiest bastard they know. Once I was in Feralas and got Wall of Dead shield from random kill... : D

I got 1 after 100 ish kills in un goro, sold it for 75g and was happy with that, I mean vanity pets are cool but not ones that have effects that change ur appearence for the worse >.< and now, strangely, i have killed about 200-300 oozlings and my luck on the bags dropping has changed for the worse i hav recieved about 2 bags in the last 300 ish mobs killed, yet before i got the pet i was getting bags drop every 15 ish mobs :(

Hate to be a party pooper.... but I was trying to kill infernals for the core of earth, and mistakenly stumbled upon a pond. In the bottom of the pond there was a Brown/tan colored slime.

Found that quite odd considering everything in felwood is green hued. Long and short, It had a silver dragon on it's health bar. So i figured i'd kill it. - one kill one bag, one Oozeling. Sold it to Morw on Manno for 70g.

If that wasn't a kicker.... i put it up on AH for 2s with no buy out. 10 min later its at 50g. who would have thought?

Guess next time i'll just keep the cool bugger!

I farmed about 2 ~ 3 hours in Felwood and finally got this baby!

He sure can make some cool noisy sound and weaken your defense.

Not. Cool.

1.2% drop rate. 132 bags. Don't you think it'd drop by then? I got everything from what oozing bags contain at least several times (even the green gems) ... but no pet.

I'll continue farming and update when I get it. Hopefully I won't have to go over 10,000 kills from my wonderful luck.

Farmed it out in one day.

I went to Felwood/Easternplague Lands/Westernplague Lands. This mini pet imo is really cool, who ever is still farming keep doing it for this one is worth it.

Killed a total of 227 Mobs, got 10 bags, and took almost 2 1/2 hours.

Note that this pet is unique, so if you get one and use it, you can no longer use that character to farm for more oozelings without first getting rid of your own. :-(

I lucked out and found one of these on the Illidan (Alliance) auction house for a mere 1g88s :D I paid a lil over 400g for it on Azgalor. This is by far the best pet in the game.

I was once the proud owner of this marvelous piece of nature, my account was hacked however, all of my items sold and deleted.

Through the interaction of the powers at be my belongings were restored to me, all except for one.

The common white quality of my beloved Oozeling prevented it from being returned to me, as the world had not considered it to be of an item rarity worth keeping a track of.

This is my warning to you, this is my tale, beware of the thieves who would seek to take this treasure from you.

been farming for a few days now for a couple hours each day running back and forth between the two "scars" in EPL. the drop rate on the oozing bags sucks and most of the time the contents are silver or herbs. this is getting to be worse than farming the formula for crusader.

gotten a blue world drop so far

edit: opened 20+ oozing bags so far with no luck, if the percentages are right then I should see something within the next 30 bags

edit3: Well over 50 bags and still nothing, have even seen two oozing bags drop at once. This is really ridiculous because I farmed an azure whelpling in only a couple hours. I have also been spamming trade and checking the AH religiously and its nearly impossible to find because ppl either vendor or use and bank.

Its approaching 10+ hours of grinding DO NOT FARM THIS.

I didn't even know about this pet until someone persistently started spamming in trade that they wanted to buy one. The guy was offering a very nice amount of gold for one, and as I am saving up for my epic land mount, I decided on a whim to see if I could farm up one of these Oozelings to sell.

Total pipe dream, right?

I hit up Felwood, killing oozes by the Bloodvenom falls/river area, and no more than 2 hours later (in my 3rd Oozing Bag found), I got one of these little guys!

So I haven't tried farming oozes anywhere else, but Felwood struck me as a pretty good place... especially for Horde. The area the oozes are found in is really close to the Horde "town"/FP, so it's really convenient when you need to unload vendortrash or repair, and the oozes had a fairly quick respawn rate for me.

Here's hoping other people looking for this pet have as good luck as I did!

EDIT: Happily sold this sucker on the AH for 500g.

Always wanted one of those and went to farm for one tonight, took me about 45 minutes (around 10 bags) untill I got mine. Farmed in the Ooze cave in western plaguelands. I'm happy :)

Reading these tales it just highlights to me how random these things are.
I was aware of these things when grinding in Felwood (for runecloth, i think) but also knew of the low drop rate and there aren't that many oozes in the shadow council cave I was grinding in (6 or so a run?) so wasn't really looking for one. Lo and behold one dops and after much agonising and showing off in guild chat etc, I punted on the ah for about 600g. Very nice. Within a hour of starting to grind again in the shadow council area, got another one!
So that was 2 in about 2 hours and maybe 30 kills?
Sorry to all those who have spent days hunting them :)

Well I wrote a comment on here about my experience trying to farm it but some idiot removed it. I killed tons and tons of oozes and I never saw a single one drop, after farming for 8 or 10+ collective hours i gave up and started checking for one on the ah every day. I even posted an add on my server forums that i wanted to buy one; after a month of searching and farming I found a hordie selling one on the dalaran forums and convinced her to drop the price down to 400g and put it on the neutral AH. Needless to say I bought it and its awesome. A little overpriced imo but this guy is extremely rare and that's the price you pay.

I'll just add my experiences. I decided to farm for this pet for gold a couple days ago. Mainly because I'm pretty bored and find myself wanting to say "I've done it."

I originally went to WPL to try first. Un'Goro looked too spread out, and Felwood sounded like a pain with not enough slimes to kill. The cave was easy enough to empty, but the fact that they would sometimes respawn as the non-slimes, and the blue slimes had the multiple adds which were time consuming for a ret pally to kill (without chewing through too much mana), it wasn't that efficient. After about half an hour, I gave up on these guys. I did get a couple Greater Nature Resist recipes which sold very well.

I moved onto EPL. The first trench is right beside the FP at Light's Hope, and they're all pretty concentrated. It's easy to come up with a good loop to help speed up with the killing. None of the slimes have any abilities that are really annoying. Its a pretty easy and mindless task to just go in circles. Once you get to the end of one trench, run past Corin's Crossing and jump into the next one. Continue farming until you get to the end (where there's a ramp out) then run back to the first. Repeat until you have an Oozeling!

One huge bonus to farming in EPL if you're a miner though. The trenches are filled with Rich Thorium Veins, and I mined about 200g worth while farming.

In the end, after 18 Oozing Bags from ~350 slimes, I got my Disgusting Oozeling! I went to the AH, put it up, and advertised in trade that it was for sale. Within a couple minutes it has sold for 1200g!

Well, everyone is gonna hate me on this but as I was going to Tyr's Hand to farm for the Crusader, I fell in the Pestilent Scar and killed ONE slime and it dropped a bag and had one of these in it. I was just gonna equip it when my auctioneer told me it was basically worthless but thankfully, I checked on here.

Flying mount...here I come!!

Update - Put it on the AH and sold it in less then 48 hours for 1,000 gp.

If u can do some aoes best place to farm this is to go to Infectis scar and gather a group of the mobs. because in the Infectis scar the mobs are close together and can be pulled to the next with ease happy hunting :) (and dont think your going to snatch this in a couple hours it may take days.)

I have been farming the Weeping Cave and Felwood for a week now and still no Oozeling. I tend to farm for 2-3 hours at a time too. I must have the worst luck : /

weeping cave is my fav place to farm for it, i can clear it in 3-4 pulls. I have been getting more bags per clear recently too. Felwood's mobs are spread out and involve some swimming. Weeping cave has the tightest packed mobs. Also fact that Weeping cave is so far off the map makes it less likely to have other people in it. I have only seen 2 people in all of my cave clearing.

I finally got my oozeling and its the sickest pet ever, I love it so much. Cost me 400g not to mention the 20 collective hours of time I wasted trying to farm it. The best thing to do if you want this pet is to look on your realm's forums, sometimes ppl who are trying to sell one will post there. Also check the AH regularly including the neutral ones in stv/tanaris. It took me awhile to find it but it was worth every copper spent. I would highly recommend this approach as opposed to farming it, its not worth the stress.

and this is the third comment I have posted about my experience trying to get an oozeling and the other two have been mysteriously removed... please stop as it is getting annoying.

I've noticed that most of the comments here are about how many kills it took, and where they did it, but here is my Disgusting Oozeling guide (About 2000 ooze kills, and about 75 bags for myself.)

As the changes have struck, and Cataclysm is upon us, I've felt the need to edit this guide, remove all of the old spots, and now, I am returning to finish the editing. Right now, the best spot, but certainly not the only viable spot is to head to Silithus. In Silithus the worms are your focus. Dredge Crusher, Dredge Striker, and Grubthor.

Other sites include, Coldlurk Burrower in Winterspring, Shifting Mireglob in Swamp of Sorrows, are other viable options for farming this.

Edit - I went out and farmed another oozling up post shattering, and my most hated place is the Silithus spot, I imagine the Winterspring spot is- Eh. However, the Swamp of Sarrows spot is fantastic. Truly. I've had a lot of luck, and it was actually kind of relaxing to do it again, instead of psychologically draining. Good luck all.

To farm these little lovelies, you're going to need to have a will to survive. Grinds are not easy. Some of you may receive this little beauty after 1 bag. Some of you may open 300-500 bags. You will not know. This next part is important psychologically. Do not open the bags as you get them. This is a bad idea. As you open them, you'll get more and more disheartened until you get frustrated and want to quit. Save up 13-20 of them before you open them. THE OOZLING IS UNIQUE! This means, before opening the other bags, send it to a different toon, if you're saving up bags.

One cool thing to do with this pet if you are a warlock, make a simple macro for summoning it at same time that you summon your felsteed or dreadsteed, and one for dismissing the oozeling, then whenever you mount up you will have a green flamed felsteed mount which I think looks more appropriate to the name felsteed, here is a picture of what it looks like.

A simple macro for summoning them together would go:
/cast Disgusting Oozeling
/cast Summon Felsteed

This will make pet pop up halfway through summoning your mount. (Replace Summon Felsteed to Summon Dreadsteed for level 60 mount).

And for dismissing both a simple:
/cast Disgusting Oozeling

This will dismiss your oozeling and of course mount as you need to demount to dismiss it.

I found this pet much more tolerable to farm the some of the other world drop mini pets I’ve farmed. Simply because, I looked at it as hunting for bags, with the chance at the pet, not I need bags to get a chance at the pet... So every time I got a bag (which is far more often than you find any other dropped mini pet...) I thought hey this might have a pet in it. Instead of damn, I've killed thousands of monsters and still not gotten my pet. (If that makes any since to anyone other than myself...) I dunno, I just feel like I’ve accomplished something every time I get a bag, regardless.

And people should remember, there’s always that chance, you will never-ever find the pet. As totally unlikely as that is, its still a possibility. If you get depressed every time you open a bag and its not inside... pet farming might not be your thing. Never farm something assuming you’ll get it; then your not disappointed when it doesn’t drop, and finding it is a pleasant surprise. ^.^

I got 2 Disgusting Oozeling's on one day :)

Was doing the quest for http://www.wowhead.com/?item=12230 when a Ooze covered bag dropped and : Shoop da whoop, I get the disgusting pet :) I fly straight to orgrimmar to put it on the auction house, (Looked up on wowhead to check buyout price, which is 700g) and it was sold about 2min later, I went back to felwood to complete my quest, thinking in my head, "Rofl , would be funny if another one dropped" and there we go, a ooze covered bag with a oozeling in :)

Too bad some people have to kill 5000 Ooze's when I killed just about 30 :P

Regardless of whether or not your oozing bag contains this, these bags do sometimes contain some useful items that you can either use yourself or fetch a decent price with.

Edit: I got mine after about 120 kills. : )

Edit: I seems that you cannot loot oozing bags anymore while you have a disgusting oozeling in the AH. I killed oozes for about 30 minutes and did not receive a single bag.

I feel bad for some of these people. Jesus killed countless thousands just to get one. I'm not joking when I say this but I got my I think on my third bag. I might have killed 20 guys to get one and i wasn't even looking for him. I was just checking wowhead if it was worth anything and I guess it would be to some people out there. A good method to farm this pet is to run up and down the ditch area by Lights hope chapel killing

The debuff the oozeling gives is refreshing constantly. So your character is flashing in green.

I farmed for 3days. 8hours a day.
Farmed most of the time at EPL, and thats also where i found my baby.
i was at Felwood and WPL. But EPL is so much better and easier to farm.
I did not count the mobs or the number of bags. I would probably just get depressed.
Then, when i least expected it. There it was. At first, I didnt even believe it myself. Did I really get the pet? after all this time? Since the droprate is about 0.2 The chance is pretty high that you wont even see it

2400 oozes, 130 bags for the first one I farmed.

~30 oozes and 6 bags for the second to drop afterwards.

All done in the scars in EPL.
And yes, the debuff flickers on and off on the owner, but not the pet.

I had to farm this badboy for 20 extremly intensive minutes and looted a total of 5 Oozing Bag's before I finaly found it! Funny thing is that I looted two bags from the same mob when I found it.

I farmed for this guy over a span of two years. A couple hours here, a couple hours there. Tons of Oozing bags, but the lil' green fella never emerged.

With the new pet achievement I was stuck at 49 pets. So this last week I have been at it every night, going back and forth through the two scars in EP. I looted another 150 Oozing bags, a couple blues, too many greens and greys, and I started doubting if I'd ever loot it. Then today after about 2 hours in my 8th bag it dropped! So now I have the Oozeling and Stinker.

All together it took me two years and probably around 400 bags before I got it. The awesome thing is I went directly to Badlands to seek the whelpling there and got it right away. I had luck on my side. But now I've been farming the other bane of my existence, the Firefly. And it ain't dropping!

The Oozling has changed!

The oozling skin is still the same. It's the cute little grey blob still. However, it now is affected by its own Aura so it is green and looks just like you do (color wise). Likewise, the Oozling would affect you no matter where you were. Now the oozling has a radius on the aura, and if you run out of the radius, you loose the debuff, and the oozling is still out!

Dead wrong. This is a bug, not a "radius" feature. Simple to test as it flickers on an off while you're standing completely still.

Please fix my favourite pet Blizzard :/

Gave up with farming after 8 days of grinding, taking only 3-5 hours per day to grind or I'd go crazy. Even had friends helping me at some point for a hour or so. One day I went afk for 10mins, saw a pally around thought he had just fallen down as he ran past a few oozelings, later on before I tagged a mob he had just got it, I asked if he was farming Oozelings and replied that he was but he wasn't anymore because that mob had just dropped the pet and he proved it too.

That sort of killed my stamina. So good luck to anyone else out there farming for it, I was in EPL and in 8 days I had managed to kill over 5,000 Oozelings. Had 1 blue drop and about 200g in money drops / grey items sold.

Just got the oozeling, i was really excited and all but that aura switchin green on and off all the time is a bit lame.

Did some1 say its a bug? Will it be fixed so you can be green all the time?

Also noticed party members don't get the debuff, is that working as intended? Since i was looking forward to annoying MTs in raid =)

i know how there are tons of stories about people who got it on their first try, and people who dident get after 12k kills, but i am a big pet collector (have 52 so far), and i have to say......ITS WORTH IT!

EDIT: but that is under the assumption that blizz WILL fix the aura problem, cause now i look like a green strobe light operated by an idiot, an idiot who thinks it is magic. blizz you better fix that aura

I finally got my oozeling today! So awesome. It took me about 3 days of off and on farming. I tried the scars in EPL, but just didn't like having to go back and forth. I'm a lvl 72 ice mage so the cave in WPL was perfect imo. To any other mages out there I would recommend that cave, AoE is our friend =) Got mine somewhere around 80 bags. Just wanted to say if you really want this pet just keep at it and you'll have it ;)

After around 3k kills (I stopped counting after 2k) I finally got this little guy yesterday. I've been having a lucky week as far as drops go so I decided to head back to felwood and try to get him. I killed oozes until I had 10 bags and he was in the second one.

Good luck to everyone looking for him. I can say that the satisfaction of FINALLY getting him is definitely worth it.

It dropped for me today after only 3 days (about 4h) of farming! I cheered! One thing I noticed after summoning the cute little thing is that when killing oozes the bags seem to drop more often. I even had 2 bags in one ooze! Good luck to you all in farming this, it's really worth it! :)

Here's my story of getting the cute little oozie-woozie.

First I checked wowhead ( cheers to those that commented already) to see how hard it actually was to get one.
The only "rare" pet I succesfully farmed for so far was the azure whelpling, and after seeing the screenshots I set my mind on getting the oozeling :).
I'm a lvl 80 ret paladin and people called me crazy for going after the oozeling, like I should have better things to do!

I started off in Felwood, hunting there for 2 days, around 3 hours each day.
Needless to say it did not drop for me just yet and I got a little annoyed with the moving around.

I then decided it was time to try EPL. Tried it for a couple of days, again 3 hours each day. No luck...
I also got annoyed by moving from scar to scar because one scar simply did not have a fast enough respawn.

That's when I started hunting in WPL. I liked it there! Despite the countless Elementals and baby oozies spawning after a ooze died ( easy to kill with divine storm tho ) I decided to stay at that spot untill I got my precious ooze.
I tried for weeks, 3-4 days each week and 3 hours each day.
I got a epic drop, met the rare mob in the cave and got around 10 blue drops, but yesterday I decided to kill some oozes before our guildraid on Brill started, and guess what I got on my first bag, oozie-woozie!

I just want to tell people not to give up and imho WPL is the best spot to farm for lazy people like myself. > :)

My friend called me a moron when I went to Felwood to specifically farm for one. Now I have killed perhaps 800 oozes, and have found three. The first one I sold on AH in a short time with a 1000g buyout. Considering the droprate, I figured it wasn't that surprising. When I found the second one the same day I almost fell off my chair. I decided to sort of experiment how much people would pay for it, and sold it directly for 1900g in something like four hours. That was just incredible, unreal. I sort of got addicted to ooze slaying (I don't know if that counts as a gambling problem, maybe I need help), and decided to farm for a third one. Well, I got one about half an hour ago. If it sells for ~1900g as well I would have made over 4.5k, in two and a half days, by just running around arcane blasting oozes every now and then between heroics and PvP. But that's enough "bragging" for this post.

As to where you should farm for one, I personally recommend the Tainted Oozes of Felwood, having tried both Plaguelands as well, might be that I'm just biased because of my luck in Felwood though. There's a small pond with 5 ooze spawns, a larger pond with about 10 spawns, there are 7 spawns on the shore of the river near Bloodvenom Post. There are about three spawns underwater in the nearby lake, and about eight spawns on the shore. That's quite a bit of oozes I cleared very swiftly dozens of times as a level 80 Horde mage, occasionally popping to Bloodvenom Post to vendor all the grey and green junk I had looted. As noted in an earlier comment the spawns are mostly very concentrated, and thus very easy to blast away. (Also note that the Cursed Oozes further to the south do not drop Oozing Bags.)

The Disgusting Oozeling is, at the moment, one of the rarest tradeable vanity pets. It's also kind of unique and cute, I'll give you that. And there are people who want it. Bad. I've heard of these going for nearly quite a bit over 2000g. If you're bored you might want to clear the oozes in Felwood every now and then, but don't lose your sanity over it. The odds are against you, but you can always get lucky.

Edit: The third one sold for 3000g, and now I have a fourth one. This is just amazing, perhaps not as much because of my luck, but because this little guy is so astonishingly valuable.

BEST SPOT to farm it, especially since the new patches that have increased the drop rates of everything:

Eastern Plaguelands in the Scars.
Run back between the two scars. They are fairly close together, and once you clear one, the other one will have re-spawned and will be ready to go. No other irrelevant mobs to worry about, and usually no other toons around.

It appears the slimes in EPL also have higher drop rate of the bags ni general, therefore also increasing your chances. I got two oozlings here: One after 8 bags in 45 minutes, the other a few days later in the first minute, on the first bag drop. I couldn't believe it!

Ive been farming felwood nonstop for a couple weeks now and have kille 3200 Tainted Oozes and looted countless Bags. Everything that could have dropped from the bags has dropped...and im starting to wonder if my Oozeling ever will :(

The droprate for the the Oozeling is higher in EPL than in Felwood, but considering all the DKs in EPL nowadays, it can get kind of stressful with tons of people running through the area aggroing the oozes and killing them for no reason other than to annoy you. After farming all the whelplings and assorted other rare pets, the most annoying thing thing I've found is when some level 80 runs by, sees what you're doing, and deciding he has nothing better to do for the next 30 or so minutes than try to kill all the mobs you're farming just to make you angry. The WPL mobs have adds that spawn, which is annoying. So all in all, I say until EPL is clear of all the people (because where there are people, there are always jerks), I'd say Felwood is the way to go. I just got mine there today and couldn't be happier :)

Except it would be nice if I didn't flash green like I'm stricken with irregular bouts of nausea all the time..

EDIT: I have noticed though that if you de-summon and re-summon your Oozeling a few times, you can get the flashing to change in tempo and regularity. If you mess around with it for a little bit, you can get it so that you're green most of the time with with fast, infrequent breaks.. just something to play around with.

I started farming this pet a few days ago. I have had tons of luck with the firefly (have gotten 9 so far for very thankful friends) so thought I would give this a try. After 715 oozes (mostly from EPL, but some from WPL and Felwood) and a measly 24 bags, still no oozeling. Frustrating at best. I have to agree that good music makes pet grinding that much better. I will add though that Mobinfo2 also has helped since it tracks my kills/loot instead of having to keep track myself. I will not give up! However, if anyone on Duskwood comes across this pet, hit me up on Fierro (Horde side). I will pay well. Very well. Will update as this progresses. I foresee a lot of oozes in my future.

A while ago i found this for only 30-40g on AH and immediately bought it, however i knew it was very rare, i thought what the hell and used it on my shaman.

Just earlyer today i was talking on vent with some alliance (i play horde) and they told me how they where getting money by farming whelps, but that this particular pet sold for 10k gold solid. I went like oh i got that once for like 40..... Wait, did you just say 10k!

So anyways i jumped to my 80 DK and started aoe'farming the cave in WPL, grinding through smoothly, oneshotting the mobs with scourge strike, or simply popping unholy blight, run half way through the instance, use death and decay, and loot...

The respawn rate was VERY high, took the cave in 3 pulls basically then clearing the ooze's outside, and by the time i re-enter the cave they have respawned.

killed aprox 120 ooze's, and got about 22 oozing bags. took me 1½ hour of grinding then i found the pet in a bag :D i immediately transfered it to alliance, and is currently trying to squeeze 6-8k out of this. within just 5 mins i was offered 2k for it :)

Edit: just sold it for 2500g within 20 hours. in the mean time i was offered 2k, and 1,6k for it.

I've had three of these things drop for me. The first two were back when AQ was a hard instance - so I was farming for the Nature resist potion for a week straight. At the time I sold them for about 150g each *cries*

I got the third one only yesterday, just screwing around on my DK in EPL, third ooze, first bag TADAH! So for those struggling to get one after many kills, don't give up hope. It can come out of the blue.

On a side note, I put it on AH for 1000g buyout and it sold within a couple hours. I'd definitely recommend shooting high when you put these on the AH. I'm kicking myself thinking I should probably have tried for 2k or 3k buyout.

Yesterday, my housemate was farming for this and one of the slimes dropped TWO Oozing Bags. He was saving all the bags to open at the end, and having not seen two on one corpse before, he put these two separate from the others... just in case.

Sure enough, opening revealed one of these two had the Oozeling!

Has anyone seen or heard of this occurring before? It made me wonder whether bags with the Oozeling have a different item ID etc. I'm not sure about the mechanics of the game in that way, but I have never seen two bags drop on one Slime before this.

FYI he was farming Vile Slime and Devouring Ooze in The Weeping Cave in WPL.

I purchased this pet from the ah for 1,700 gold. Well worth it after trying to get it for approx 2 years. To date, its one of the most prized pets in game. It gives you a debuff that makes you turn green and lowers resistances and defences by 10. If you are mounted, your mount also turns green. As a mage, if you cast mage armor on yourself with your pet out, you will flash green approx once every 3 seconds. (Strobe light effect) This pet also makes a bubble n noise. If you have a chance to purchase this pet, do it. You will not be disappointed. If your grinding for it. Good luck.

Grinding Diary:

Day 1. I started out grinding for a couple of hours, only to find approximately 40 bags.. No Oozeling..

Day 2. This time i decided to farm in different spots.. and 8 hours later i had 137 bags... after opening them all.. i still haven't found one..

Day 3. Finally! The bag #181 was the lucky one! After almost 16 hours in total i got one!
And i can say this much; It was all worth it!

So keep up the spirit and even tho it takes ages, it's out there! Just waiting for you to grab it!

this one was a tough grind. took around 8k slime kills before i got it from the slimes in wpl cave. theres nothing quite as satisfying as getting one of these hard to get vanity pets to pop in your loot window:) now only vanity pet left to farm is the notoriously rare hyacinth macaw. im getting to same numbers with that one but i love farming these super rare items :)

as an advice to all that are farming this pet. choose plaguelands as your farming spots. scars are pretty straight forward way to farm, clear one and move to other. when you have cleared second scar the first one will have mobs spawned. i myself preferred wpl cave for the easy and relaxed farming. you also get nature prot pot recipes quite often and can sell em for some gold. herbs and occasional blue recipe drops off from elementals will also get you some extra gold to compensate your time spent there.

be patient and youll get it eventually:)

got mine today from Oozling Bag number 50 in EPL. Pretty fast farming if you do both of the slime valleys there. I also think that the bag drop rate may have been increased a little. There are about 27 or 28 total mobs in the 2 areas there and I was pretty consistantly getting 2 bags per clearing. Sometimes only one, but sometimes 3 or 4!. If I had to guess, I would say that Blizzard may be trying to bring this pet drop rate closer into line with the other 1/1000 average rare pet drops like whelplings, etc.

So like i registered the account on wowhead just for this. I'm in short of 1 pet for my Lil game hunter achievement (75 pets) collected, so i thought to farm this one, it's cue an not many players have it. (By the way this is not the only pet i'm missing, however i decided to farm it).

Anyway all started reading some of these comments, along with some other wow websites related. What I noticed immediatly is that players to get this pet, get really, really frustrated, wasting a lot of free time to play solo and to repeat the same route over and over without stop.

I thought, maybe with some luck i will obtain this pet too... but...
Simply after 3 hours i realized how stupid I am, how stupidly I was wasting my time, how stupidly i could just keep an eye on AH, the only place where's random world drop will appear from time to time, also if rare like this pet.

When a drop is random, mean is RANDOM, that say you can farm for all your wow life, but never obtain it, then see a low level players that accidentally will aggro one of those Oozes mobs, and obtain a bag with the Oozeling in it, that say making all your effort simply frustrating and nullify it.

Short thing, to obtain what you want you have to work for it, for sure, but things that are random like these are just a waste of time.

Here's my story. I went out to that cave in Western Plaguelands, and tore apart everything in my path for several solid hours.
254 Devouring Oozes dropped 23 bags.
94 Vile Slimes dropped 5 bags.
14 Large Vile Slimes dropped 1 bag.
77 Decaying Horrors and 246 Rotting Behemoths got in my way and were summarily dispatched.
My total haul:
8 Nature Protection Potion recipes
6 Living Essences
4 random greens
1 Mithril Lockbox
and...
1 Disgusting Oozeling. Woot, saved myself 8k on the AH.
I know I got lucky, this makes up for all the whelplings I've never found while grinding for them.

Something to be said for karma.. My wife wanted one of thse very very much.. I happened to be in Felwood doing a couple miscellaneous quests for Loremaster when I saw some oozes.. I figured "hey why not" and started killing a few. Due to a sour stomach I was about to bag it and go to sleep but some instinct said "stick with it til you get a bag drop; you'll only need one"..

And then it happened.. After about 15-20 Tainted Ooze kills an oozing bag drops and there's the Oozeling.. just like that.. I sit here in stunned amazement..

well wanted this pet as i had bought it on my main on other server but as a newly started on a new server i didnt just have the gold to buy it on ah and i really missed this little pet. So i went out for this one and i kinda scouted all the "know" oozeplaces felwood,ungoro,epl and last wpl. To all you wanting to farm this i recommend wpl, i know u have to kill some other trash mob in that weeping cave but still theres as many oozes as u find in all the other zones in an even closer area, and best of all i find this cave to have an insane fast spawn on all mobs compared to the other zones. for example i could clear epl scar places,felwood or ungoro and then had to wait for like 5-10 mins b4 new spawn. In this cave u dont have any downtime on spawns i run as a boomie and no matter how i try with aoe and cds i cant clear this cave b4 some mobs start spawn. And second as a good motivation i "saved up" 100 bags a time b4 i started opening as the "i gotta get 100bags thought" kept me going. Funny tho i was a lucky sod and didnt have patience to farm 60 bags as my gf also was excited about all them bags i had gotten, so after around 6--7hours of farm i had gotten 60 bags opened them all and got it in the 37th bag i opened, prolly lucky as hell but now trying for hyacinth macaw and my luck has certainly not followed on 2k+ kills now no luck but hey il start complain if i hit over 20k+ kills lol. Took me a little over 150 bags total. I've found that EPL on Terokkar is the best place to farm it. You'll encounter a few people doing the mule quest or thorium miners but they usually don't bother you too much. I got about 100 bags from here.

The WPL cave doesn't respawn fast enough to have a constant enough flow of bags. The cave also has the guys that multiply which'd be annoying if I didn't have an AOE. I got about 40bags from here.

Felwood spawn rate seemed slower as well as overall drop rate of bags. Though this is all situational. I got about 10 bags from here.

I'm quite suprised on how quickly this dropped.

I farmed them from the Oozes in the Eastern Plaguelands, it took about 4 or 5 trips around both trenches, and about 9-10 Oozeing Bags. Around 40 minutes, Level 80 DK (Unholy AoE DPS)

First the Azure Whelpling, Now the Disgusting Oozeling! Epic flying here I come..

Most of my ooze bags contain silver and herbs... so many herbs.

This is definitely the most depressing amount of farming I've done!

I circled the cave in WPL about three times, hoping to kill the elementals there for living essence so I could enchant my Rogue alt's heirloom daggers with Lifestealing only to end up having to kill a bunch of oozes instead. three oozing bags dropped and I got a disgusting oozeling from two of the three I got.

I guess in that case I was extremely lucky

I was farming this little buddy yesterday and finally got it after 700 kills and 39 bags.
It dropped at the EPL.

I tried Felwood, EPL and WPL and also found that farming at EPL was by far more effective. I noticed that I was killing them with my Holy Shockadin a little bit faster than their respawn time was, so there was a very small downtime.

As it was already noted here, bring a miner, there are some rich thorium veins at the scars.

I don't believe this, I actually had the oozeling drop a long time ago when I was leveling my first character. Got to level 50 or so and went to Felwood to do some quests and did the one where you had to kill the oozes.

Had this bag drop, opened it, found a little oozeling inside. However it said it makes your defence drop so I thought to myself "That doesn't sound like something I'd like to keep, I'll put it on the AH"

I did so. For 30g. Sold instantly. After reading all these comments I feel sickened that I let such a rare pet go for so little, and this is now my official noobiest moment in WoW.

I finally got mine today after a total of 20 hours killing Oozes in WPL, Weeping Cave. The elementals were more a help than hinderance, dropping 2 rare LW Patterns, and a total of 3 Rare BoE weapons (well, 2 weapons and 1 belt). I much preffered WPL than EPL scars, as I hated the running back and forth in Eastern. The first day I tried I farmed for 12 hours and got approx. 30 bags. The next day I farmed for about 8 hours and got 25 bags. The 24th got me the little guy - finally! :-)
Some Oozes may drop 2, or even 3, bags on rare occasions. This is great because it can considerabley reduce farming time with an extra couple bags!

The Key rule is to NOT GIVE UP! Keep at it and you're patience will be rewarded with this fella :)
(Sold him within 5 minutes to someone for 5000g [though I only got about 4700g - darn the AH cut)

I agree with most others on here in saying that the scars are probably the best place to farm him.

Some extra, possibly humorous info: I've not been farming him for long, only opened two bags so far and maybe killed 60 mobs (killed nearly 2k i think for my azure whelpling so I'm in for long grinds). BUT...You probably won't believe my dumb luck. I just had Lord Alexanders axe drop (which is a BOE blue valued at over 100g on my server). But get this...It has only dropped 1 in 35000 loots off of Living Decay mobs, which I looted it from.

As an anicdotal side note, did anyone ever get one of these things back in the veeeery early days of wow?

I remember getting one of these on my old Rogue character back within the first 6 months of wow. However, back then the critter still gave the debuff, but was a once only summoned pet that lasted for 5-15minutes then vanished (can't remember exactly how long as it's been a while obviously enough).

Finally got one of these.
I didn't count the number of oozes killed or bags opened, but my "creatures killed" statistic increased by 6000-7000 over those 3-4 days I was grinding oozes (though not all of those kills were oozes of course), and I would guess that I probably went through a couple of hundred Oozing bags.

Along the way I got 1 epic, 4-5 blues, a vast number of greens, and ~20 "Recipe: Greater Nature Protection Potion".

When I finally got it, I was just about to leave, and absent-mindedly checking a bag that just dropped from a Devouring Ooze, not really expecting anything. I almost couldn't believe my eyes when it contained an oozeling!

This proves one thing at least - they DO still drop, although the droprate is absolutely horrible.

I tried grinding at all the known ooze areas:
~1.5 days @ Bloodvenom river in Felwood
~1 days @ EPL scars
~1.5 day @ WPL cave

From my experience, as several people have said before, the WPL cave is by far the best location.
When I first tried there, I only killed the oozes, leaving the elementals alone, and got almost no oozing bags at all.
Eventually, I found out that the elementals share spawns with oozes, and started killing them all.
Not only did it cause more oozes to spawn, but the oozes seemed to drop far more bags as well.
So if you want one, go to the WPL cave and kill EVERYTHING in it. Over and over and over again, until you get one.

I got mine during the warlock quest, while traveling to the npc an ooze knocked me off my mount, after I killed it it dropped the bag and I got the pet. First ooze I'd ever killed too.

I didn't even realize how valuable/rare it was until about 10 levels later.

Been farming this guy for literally years and finally got him today :D
Would love to say I got him from a drop, but to be honest I bought it off a guy for 4k gold, and have never been happier to part with my cash as I cannot describe how long I have been trying to get this guy.

Yes, some people may get it in a few bags; but I am not that lucky with any drop item, and have been farming this guy on my main and various alts for literally years, even levelling several characters doing nothing but the grind in the WPL cave and the scar rotation in EPL from about 53 to 60 - so 4k gold was nothing. I would honestly reccomend, that if you are unlucky with this sort of thing and see one on the AH, grab it! Gold comes and goes, but you may never see this drop in your life.

I would just like to confirm that if you do already have the Digusting Oozeling as a pet (you have learn it and it is in your pet tab) then you can still obtain another Digusting Oozeling from an Oozing Bag and be able to take it from the Oozing Bag and put it into your rucksack. You just will not be able to learn it for obvious reasons.

I got my pet today after about 2.5 weeks of trying for a few hours at a time randomly but usually early in the morning. I got it from the Weeping Cave in Western Plaguelands (65.0, 39.4). I used the MobInfo mod to keep track of my kills/bags:

Tainted Ooze (Felwood) - 70 kills, 2 bags (2.8% drop rate) after this sucky drop rate I went to WPL
Large Vile Slime - 55 kills, 6 bags (10.9% drop rate)
Vile Slime - 328 kills, 18 bags (5.4% drop rate)
Devouring Ooze - 852 kills, 49 bags (5.7% drop rate) - received pet

Total: 1, 305 kills - 75 bags = 1 Disgusting Oozeling pet

*Note you will want to kill EVERYTHING in the Weeping Cave as the elementals will spawn the oozes, just keep going around in a circle.

I got the oozeling off the ooze obs in EPL. I only farmed for about 3 days casually. 1-2 per day. I feel bad for those farming well over thousands of kills.

My only concern is: is the aura supposed to switch on and off like that? I thought it was supposed to be all the time. At first I thought it was because I was in ghostwolf and quite a ways ahead of the little guy, but I stood still and just watched the aura flicker on and off. Is this a bug?

These places may have already been mentioned...but Eastern Plaguelands at the Infectus Scar and Pestilent Scar spawn Living Decay and Rotting Sludge. Pretty high drop rate on both. As an 80 Survival hunter, you can pretty much take them out with one explosive shot. So, it's an easy grind to run back and forth between the two scars. The last scar you were at will have respawned by the time you've finished grinding the other.

Also, a fun way to do this is farm about 20 bags at a time if you have the bag space and open them all at once. It's like opening 20 Christmas presents! It's not that great when you keep getting lumps of coal....I'm at 80 bags so far and no pet. But one day it has to drop, so I'm hopeful!

Been camping for a week straight now. By the way, the drop rate listed here on Wowhead I think is incorrect. I have over 5000 kills on the oozes that drop the bags, and the drop rate for me is exactly 5%.

Still, over 5k kills , 250 bags, and 0 oozelings. RNG hates me.

Finally it dropped!

Here´s the story:

Actually I´ve got this pet one time before with another char on another server. I got it then from an ooze in AQ20. I didn´t know much about it then, and I sure didn´t know it was so rare. I used it immediately.

So, about 1 week ago I tought maybe I should try and go after the oozeling with this char, see if I´m lucky. Actually I have been quite lucky with getting the dark whelpling, got it within maybe a hundred kills so I thought this might go just as easy.

I started out in the Weeping Cave in WP. Also I tried Felwood some and the scars in EP. This has taken me a week with a couple of hours grinding every day. At times I thought I might just give it up, reading here about people that had been grinding for years and stuff. Strangley enough it became an obsession. Grinding a few days makes you want it even more. You don´t want that grinding time to be in vain.

At first I opened every oozing bag I got immediately. My thought was that if the bag I just got contains the oozeling then I won´t spend another minute killing more oozes then necessary. This morning I changed my mind after reading here that people recommened another method for phsycological reasons. The method of filling up your pack with lots of oozing bags and then open them all later. I decided to fill my bag with oozing bags during the day and then open whatever amount of bags I had collected before logging out at night. Today I got 32 bags. A moment ago I decided to open them all and in the second last bag it was! That means that I acutally got the oozeling in the second bag this morning and I have been grinding a lot today in vain, but it doesn´t matter - I got it now! :)

About grinding places. I prefered Weeping Cave actually. Im level 80 destruction warlock so I could just run through doing rain of fire and the annoyng oozes didn´t bother me. At another level wihtout aoe I would have prefered the scars in eastern plaugelands. Now eastern plaugelands became to much waiting time for me, I was finished killing one scar and either had to wait for it to respawn or going to the other scar witch was time consuming. But actually the oozeling was in one bag I got from EP. In Felwood there were a lot of oozes but low drop-rate on the bags so I didn´t like it there.

I haven´t used Mobinfo the whole oozeling-grinding tour, just a few days, but here is some statistics. In reality I have been killing some more.

1251 oozes
482 rotting behemot
2183 oozelings (that spawn from devouring ooze)
75 oozing bags

Now onwards to the crimson whelpling!

I feel very fortunate after reading up on this pet..
I just arrived in felwood on my 49 feral druid and the first oozeling i killed dropped a bag. and it had this pet in it.. I'm sure this case is roughly 10 standard deviations from the mean..
I did not even know that this pet was a big deal and almost destroyed/vendored it thinking it was trash but hopped on thottbot just to make sure and I see people talking about selling it for 3k on the AH...

I got mine after about 10 hours of farming in my 63rd bag.
I farmed in Eastern Plaguelands, which i thought was much easier and less stressful than farming in the Western Plaguelands cave because the mobs don't spawn mini slime mobs once you've killed them in EPA.

So i killed a few mobs in epl and wpl and got maybe 2 bags before i said forget about it. I got on my dk alt went into ruins of aq and farmed flesh hunters. as a DK tank in decent gear and dual tanking specs one frost one blood I was able to solo just about everything in there the first 4 flesh hunters i killed (frost: just stay 10 yards away and HB, IT, DC) gave me nothing but hero's skulls the fifth one i killed dropped 2 ozzing bags yes 2 bags and low and behold the second one had the ozzling in it. these mobs have by far the best drop rate, took me a few deaths to figure out what i was doing but I still made over 100g farming the place for an hour and got my ozzling.

It's funny, yesterday someone told me about that Oozeling, and ofc could'nt i stay away from the farming. So i decided to fly to Eastern Plaguelands where i were killing those Oozelings. I were farming in about 2 hours, opened about 10 bags, then i found a bag with the Oozeling inside xD someone are just ~~lucky~~!

just thought I'd share my Oozeling story;

I was following Zygor's leveling guide with a 56 'Lock, 3rd toon to 80. On my previous leveling experience I have tried and failed to get this pet, I dont have álot of patience so I gave up in disgust.

Anyway, whilst doing the quest http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=4513] in Un'goro, I gained my wee Ooze buddy on my 3rd kill.

I feel kinda bad :(

I farmed this beauty in one go, alternating between the two scars in Eastern Plaugelands; killing Rotting Sludges and Living Decays. After a while you get the rythm in, so when you get to one scar they start spawning and you just rinse and repeat.

377 Decays that dropped 22 bags (6%~)
376 Sludges that dropped 19 bags (5%~)

The above droprates will of course be a tad different, but it gives some idea of how long it could take to farm it in one go.

Took me about 4 hours or so if I'm not mistaken; but it was well worth it for this sexy monster. =)

Well, i m not a pet collector.The only thing that i m using the disgusting Oozling is for money.I get the first one on 4 hours farming and sell it for 2.7k g.Then i continue farm this little guy and in the forth bag i get a second one which I sold it for 1.5k g.That was 20 min ^^ lucky one!.And then i get again to farm it and it took me 2 hours and finally got it and sell it 1.5k g this too.
That makes 5.7k g fir 6 hours and 20 min job. I have to say that is the best way to get money but u have to be lucky like me!Now i m on for the 4th disgusting oozling! Good Luck with finding yours.!

After reading comment after comment about "I farmed for weeks and still nothing", I feel bad.

I only decided today to start farming for it. After reading up on which oozes drop the Oozing Bag, I was on my way to Felwood. I killed Cursed Oozes for fun (for about 10 minutes) and then moved on to Tainted Oozes. I got my first Oozing Bag from the third one and I laughed to myself right before I opened it, saying "I can't seriously be one of the incredibly lucky ones who just happens to get it within the first 5 minutes ..." Uh, yeah I can! The Oozeling was really in the first bag. I KNOW I won't be so lucky with any of the other rare pets!

I really do feel bad for all the countless players who've killed thousands and no Oozeling. I wish all the luck in the world to those of you who are still farming for it.

the bags this pet drop in can be incredible annoying, i started farming about two hours ago, maybe two and half, after 15 minutes, i had four bags, none of which the pet was in ofc x ) after two more hours i had yet to see one more drop ... hard to keep the motivation up when you're not handed any excitement at all (the excitement being able to open a bag once in a while)

I got extremely lucky with this pet dropping for me. When I first got my DK out of the starting zone I spent probably 2 hours farming for this little guy with the usual amount of zero luck.

Fast forward to many levels later... my DK just dinged 71 in Borean Tundra, so I gated to Acherus to train up. I was about to log off when an old friend came online so I stayed on to chat for a few minutes. While chatting I decided to swing down to Light's Hope Chapel to check the mail, then thought "well I might as well farm for that oozeling for the next couple of minutes", of course not really expecting to get anything. Sure enough, on the 5th Ooze kill and 2nd bag I was shocked to find this pet!

Now I just have to decide... mail him to my main (which would actually be his 75th pet for the achievement) or sell for several thousand gold (which would buy a lot of the whelplings and Argent Tournament pets I'm missing).

I killed 293 Tainted Oozes in Felwood before moving into EPL a couple days later; there I killed two Living Decays before getting a bag with the oozeling in it off of a Lvl 55 Rotting Sludge. After another hour of farming I had killed 538 Oozes total which had dropped 29 Oozing Bags and found One Disgusting Oozeling. I'd say the best way to do it is in EPL, it took me a third the time to kill 240 or so Oozes than in Felwood.

If you're trying to kill mobs for this pet you're in for a long grind. I got mine yesterday after 18-24 hours trying all the spots except for Un'Goro. I estimate around 10k ooze kills before the drop. Most of this has been said already in the previous comments, just wanted to summarise what I know after the longest grind in my wow-gaming (open beta).

Felwood is the place I ended up in, there are actually people botting to get this in EPL. Felwood has a few advantages: most of the mobs are all in a small area, and any class with AoE can take them out fast. There is a rare spawn here who has a high bag-drop %. EPL is probably the place if you're a miner (if the place is bot-free on your server). There are 2 thorium nodes spawning where you will grind the ooze. The disadvantage is that you will have to do alot of running between the actual killing.

I spent alot of time in the Weeping Cave (WPL). One thorium node here as well. The mob spawn points are shared with elementals (which drops random herbs and a nature protection alchemy recipe which actually been selling really well). Best way is to pull as many as you can and AoE them down.

I used an 80 rogue for this, sprint + fan of knives really helps getting kills / hour up. I'd guess a druid or shaman would be more effective because of travel form.

10k for this pet from AH is a decent price. You can get more than that money in the hours it will take you getting this pet grinding other stuff. If you really want this pet I'd advise you to buy it instead of grinding for it (presumed it's actually on AH).

To date, this is the only non-combat pet which actually affects combat. Its 'Disgusting Aura' grants -20 defense, -20 to all resistances, and adds a green tint to the owner (group members remain unaffected by this aura). Much like Jubling, if you offer a to this pet, it will eagerly move toward it and lap it up.

Just got this baby, 817 "Rotting Sludge" killed giving me 31 bags and 889 "Devouring Ooze" killed giving me 30 bags so a total of 1706 Oozes killed all together and 61 bags opened over the course of 3-4 days! I'm so happy right now to finally have this pet! :)

Aaaaaah, finally got mine just NOW, after a year or so of sporadic farming.

Since many others have recorded their journey of farming for this ooze, I figured I would as well. Each day will be logged and collected.

Day 1: Friday early morning - Approximately 2:35 as I write this.

My friend said they wanted an Oozeling. I saw the drop rate - Approximately 1000 kills before I'd be at half odds for getting one. Not bad. I'm an Enhance Shaman - I kill things for fun quickly, and can heal and DPS well. Why not. I'm down. I began farming quickly in Eastern Plaguelands along the routes many before me have taken, yet I became annoyed. Why take such arbitrary routes? Why not let my killing speed the process. I found the caves of Western Plagueland much better, as for how fast I killed, they respawned instantly in many cases.

Seven hundred kill this day yeilded about 25 bags. None contained my friend's future pet, but still, I must press on. I will return soon to continue ths journal.

I've had multiple bags drop in the last few minutes, but I've saved the m all for this moment. I feel the ooze calling to me. I know it's here... I begin to peer through them.. I will report with how many I've found soon.

Day 1 Addendum 2: 4:20

I find myself lost in trance as I continue killing the mindless creatures... Or am I the mindless one? I ponder this question as more and more corpses and slime cover me. My weapons hardly feel the hits, however, my armor wears down. I find myself covered in the slime, worried that maybe it's corroding my armor. I decide to turn in for the night after that one last kill... Which became two... And then more... I had to pull myself away to realize that I've really become addicted to this hunt...

Why my friend didn't want the slime on me and the slime that follows, I do not know. The vendor that took the items I found commented that my armor was corroded, as I feared - It cost almost 40 gold to repair it. Barely what I had made in selling along with the cave profits. I cringe thinking about how much time I'll waste doing this... But is it a waste? I nearly turn back for more until I note that there is plenty of time tomorrow.

I begin the hunt once more. A fresh day and a fresh air about myself. I'm confident it'll appear soon. Just the right one. My weapons and armor fresh, my bags now empty, I set out to search for what my friend desires. I took a few swings at a target dummy before leaving Ironforge - I had to make sure everything was prepared. I came upon the cave I've claimed, and I find a Priest here as well, searching out my goal as well.

Looks like the Priest has left already. My skillful mastery of this area proven, he has left the entire area. I leave myself behind in this place, as I can see my tracks passing through on just the second route. It's all so familiar and routine now. It begins to drag on. It feels like I'm in here for hours... Slowly, I find bags that contain what I hope for, but I dare not open them. I wait until I amass a collection before I do...

I find out that my friend that needs the pet also needs my assistance elsewhere. Ulduar beckons and Algalon is threatening our world. I must attend to this matter. I almost open the bag when I'm told it will be a while before we go. I heard maybe ten minutes, maybe twenty... Why should I go then? Another few slimes won't stop me.

Apparently the group is ready and I wasn't aware. I must have not seen it. My kills feeling so natural now, I note that it's weird of me to miss the raid. I finally pull myself away long enough to peer into each bag. The first two hold just money. The third is a Gromsblood and more money. I go through each one. Finally, the eleventh bag I find... I open... But no, it's not what I'm after. More coin. I sigh heavily and push my Astral Recall... But not before I see a slime appear in front of me. Frustrated, I kill it along with its friends appearing near it. No bags, but I don't care at this point. My lust for this item grows, and whether ot not it appears, my rage will show. Not only here, but with Algalon as well. Expect a swift defeat. I finally leave the area, hoping that when I return soon, it will be my time to be victorious.

Day 3: Just after midnight

I farmed for about four hours. In those four hours, I kept tabs on what was going on about me. I noticed the rocks almost shifting, I thought. I swear that my movement caused them to move a little each time. Or maybe I went insane thinking about it. After the four hours of killing, I walked out with over twenty bags. I began to open each one slowly... And nothing once more. I grow discouraged... But I'm stern in saying I will do this. I promised my friend they will earn their pet...

...Or maybe I will keep it for myself... I want to throw myself something for doing it. I've wasted hours and money doing this for my friend... And they help me a lot... But honestly, the pet appeals to me now... I seem to be growing fond of the red oozes...

Day 4: 2:00 AM

Today I decided to rest my weapons. I put in my time so much the last few days. But the calling to farm keeps waning, and I want to continue on. Slowly, I find myself walking towards the portals in Dalaran every few minutes until I get another person asking to do an enchant. Reluctantly, my day off was hard. I almost WANTED to kill things. And it's strange. I know I'm wasting time doing it in all reality All I'm doing is keeping a friend happy... But similarly, I'm appeasing some distant part of me that enjoys this. Tomorrow, however, the slimes will pay.

I farmed for a few hours after exiting a Colloseium ordeal. We conquered the Horde's champions with very few casualties. The slimes felt what was left of my wrath, but I was exhausted. My mind was split between Ulduar and Algalon's imposing threat and this stupid slime. I wonder why I'm worried about a slime? It's just ooze, after all. But it's unique. And hard to find. And shows dedication. I wonder what shows more... Dedication to my alliance or dedication to my friend... This ooze is testing me. I hope it comes along soon...

Nothing out of these stupid bags. Nothing I want. Useless. All of it. I slammed one bag on the ground and the herb inside was crushed and destroyed. I didn't care. I took one more swing at a nearby slime and another bag dropped. I almost didn't want to peer inside, but I did. I left the bag on its rotting corpse, hoping someone else feels the pain I do, knowing what they want isn't there... I will return with vengeance soon.

All I do know is that everything that I slay ends up dead, and if there is no bag on the corpse, I move forward now. Horde... Alliance... Ooze... Anything and everything dies in my wake.

Nothing yet. I count a total of over fifty gold from opening slime filled bags... This barely covers any of my repair costs when entering town. My armor smells of something rank and disgusting. Strangely, not an oozling, though. I begin to weep as I kill, knowing that only 8 days may have passed, yet nothing has turned up. I feel sad that my friend may never see this creature... I do not understand why I cannot find it...

Over two hundred bags so far, and nothing... My mind wanders...

I have not seen light in at least 24 hours. How do I know it's been that long? The elements spoke with me asking me to help my guild with their raid. I knew that it must be a Friday, and thus, they ask me... Yet I don't have time. I tell the elements to tell my friends I am indisposed. I end up remaining here, slaughtering everything further. My weapon broke an hour ago... My fists continue the work. Oddly, very well.

My friend, Neferutiti, decided to aid me now. She came to the cave to visit me and felt bad. She even brought with her a repair bot so that I may repair, since I refuse to leave. Despite all my comments past, I thank her for the aid, and we continue in the cave. I totaled over three hundred bags alone now, yet nothing. I begin to wonder if the oozeling is just a myth. Something she thought up to test me... But the way she kills things as a Druid makes me question it - Druids are normally not so violent, but she is hellbent on finding the creature... I smile a little as we trudge through the cave... Circling around... Not finding a thing.

I try calling out for the oozeling each time I open a bag, but it does not seem to help... My guild brought me potions that seemed to rejuvinate me earlier yesterday... I had gone insane for a while. One guildmate said that I had actually traveled from the cave, into the plaguelands, and began to mercilessly kill everything. Even a defenseless troll hunter in the wild did not stand up to me. They said they heard the cry in orcish from miles away and came to find me beating the corpse with my bare fists. Four of them had to tear me off of it to move on... Even though the Horde and Alliance are enemies, it is neither's nature to go so far. Not in this world... I recovered at the Argent camp in the south, only to wake up from rest and return to this cave...

farmed for hours in epl,only a few bags had to keep moving to find them not fun,decided to try felwood(dont do it) went to wpl this is easy there all in a cave at lvl 80 one shootin these things easy kills.respon is almost instant, i would suggest staying in cave 2hrs 16 bags didnt get one , but lot more fun killing and killing , then killling move to other scare,killing move to other scare,repeat, gl happy hunting

The Valentine's Holiday event has introduced a new boss encounter, with the capability of dropping a cousin of the Disgusting Oozeling; the Toxic Wasteling. It functions differently that it's Disgusting brethren, but is still as cute as any blob of goo will get.

There is also an additional drop from the boss that looks wonderful with the Disgusting Oozeling's aura, the Vile Fumigator's Mask.

I went to EPL to farm the 2 scars. I went back and forth about 4 times. I soon decided after about half an hour decided id pick it up tomorrow after one more scar clear. it was the one near lights hope. i killed every slime i saw, and looted 2 bags. (Within the half an hour i farmed, i got a total of only 7 bags. Well in the first bag, nothing special. Just 19 silver and some silverleaf, along with a 9stam bracer enchant. Then i looted the 2nd bag....it contained 23 silver, 2 major mana pots.....and this pet...i was on the verge of spamming it in my guild chat...then i realized i was only one on.

I killed about 100-120 slimes within the period of 30 minutes. Im a lucky charm.

I don't believe that the bag has got 10% chance to drop.

I was farming it: bag drop was very rare. So during 5h farming I've looted it while opening about 10 bags only! I was very lucky.

This pet is amazing. Debuff is not very strong so using in battle is allowed. His sounds are "cool", my character gets green when it is around. While riding on a mount with fluoristic elements (like feet of Acherus Deathcharger) it looks like radioactive :D
I think I am first person on server who has got it :)

For somebody it is a lot of farming, for somebody it is not. This pet is worth a lot of patience.

well in january i started farming this little guy, and with like 100 slimes, i gave up and went to sholazar and decided to mine instead, well that very day i bought duel talent, and had my offspec beast, and somehow within an hour of going beast, i found loque! well its all thanks to me trying to get the oozling that made me get mad at the drop rate and go mine

well i finally returned to the spot 3 months later, while herbalizing, and i killed about 12 slimes and it dropped! and i only had 2 bags, and i can't wait to use this thing on the Celstrial Steed :D

Since there are so many people here bragging about how quickly they got it let me give some of you people who are thinking about farming this the other side of the coin.

It took me more than 11 hours to farm this critter on my warrior. I went from level 61 to level 63 (two whole levels of killing the same exact monster). Total kills according to Mobinfo was 1023.

Nor is that my worst. I killed 1500 crimson whelpings and that pet never fell. I gave up; bought it.

After someone was posting in trade chat today trying to sell one (for around 2500), I decided I would go try to farm one out of boredom.

First bag (3rd kill), it drops. I've never tried to farm this guy, thought it was interesting.
Three bags later, I get another.

I decided to stop farming, as I really only needed two (one for me; one for my brother, as a gift for graduation). But that seems odd, to see one posted in trade, and then to have two drop within 3 minutes of each other, when usually you don't hear or see of this pet for quite some time, on AH or otherwise.

I doubt the drop rate has been increased, but maybe. WoWhead lists 1.8% for the pet, which seems inflated from the past.

been having some issues with this minipet. as a warlock, every single respawn during a bg results in no warlock pet. also, after casting the bouquet of flowers (the offhand from valentines seasonal event) on yourself, that flower petal buff disappears in ~3 seconds.

After watching how much it was worth it, I gave it a chance to farm it, readed up some on Wowhead to see how rare itw as, and where to farm it.
I went to Undercity, flew to Eastern plaguelands and killed some Oozes, I just killed like 5 or 6 and I obtained my first Oozing Bag, I opened it and couldnt believe my eyes.. The Disgusting Oozeling was inside.

After seeing how many people farmed for it to obtain one, while I was reading these comments again, I thought, why wouldnt I just use it myself aswell!

Will upload a screenshot, it looks great! And I hope it gives u guys motivation to farm for it aswell!

my thought: A fight with an aoe-fear - nobody should resist, because he would get the aggro. A debuff for resistances could be useful in this situation.

Got it after 120 bags, what i did was farm 32 bags at a time and then open all at once kept you motivated to keep farming and the sad part was on the 120 bag i could have had it along time ago but i was still saving up until i got so bored that i just couldnt do it anymore so i went to dal and opened them up and there it was =) 1/120 bags. For all of you people farming this pet it is extremely rare so just keep at it. It feels a whole lot better when you farm it yourself instead of just buying it off the AH. GOOD LUCK =D

I farmed this for a couple months. it was so much fun! getting the bags builds excitement, knowing maybe i'll get it in this one, or that one. i save them up and opening them in bulk.
i eventually got it, then spent another two weeks and got another for AH, little stinker bought me my artisan :D.

I went to Un'goro Crater to farm this as i was bored, and amazingly enough i got 1 of the 2nd bag.. So i decided to give it some more time incase i was lucky and believe it or not... Within 20min of farming the Oozes in Un'goro i got 2 of these.

Now i just need to get them sold :)

I think im the most lucky person in the world and in the history of wow! FIRST BAG! LOLZ no lie had to kill alot to get the bag to drop though did it in EPL there are alot of oozes there to kill. I highly recommend that place go if your gunna try to get one. The slimes spawn in the 2 trenches and there are 2 kinds of mobs there that drop the bag i think but idk only needed to get 1 bag. 3472 oozes killed now. I have looted both the Lifestone and the old BOE Epic Shield. I have looted assorted world BOE's, countless upon countless of greens, loads of crafting patterns, enchanting scrolls and alchemy recipes. I have earned over 400 gold in looted silver only from the oozes. But so far...not a single pet has dropped from any of the many bags I got.

The real drop rate is much much lower than the 1% that is put here. Warcraftpets gives this in regards to the drop rate;

1 in 25 oozes/slimes drop
1 in 85 bags drop
1 in 2,125 overall

Prepare for a very long farm, boys and girls, if you go for this pet.

Got it today at last at the Infectis Scar (the one closest to WPL). In the end my total was 4265 oozes killed. Time I used was 4 days and 1 ½ hour broken up into 4-5 hour farming sessions. Gold made just from looting the oozes: 632G, 32S and 86C.

Deffo worth it all in the end to get this pet. :)

Like in any other rare item section there will always be half posts where someone got it by luck in 10 min and half where someone was working days or months for it. This pet is rare, super rare. It sells for a lot. Its easier sometimes to just buy staff and make money other way then spend 20-30-40h grinding.

I have killed a legion of oozes and i have looted 78 bags. My war continues as i have not found what we all strive for. I will update as I go.

So I decide to get my lazy but to cave in EPL and do some farming. 93rd ooze in and only 6 bags... nothing. Cowboys / Skins game is coming on so I tell the wife last pull. With the major farming area in EPL being flooded in Cataclysm and the oozes disappearing I'm almost certain the price on this will be outrageous after expansion.

( tell me if i am wrong)
oozing bag 10% chance give or take
drop from oozing bag for pet around 1% in the bag that means its a 1 in 100 chance in the bag. take the 10% from the backs add the 0 on the end and the pet is around a 1:1000 ratio to each ooz that you will kill... kill around 1k of these and you may have an oozling. i got this on my 37th kill i am one of the lucky ones i was planing on farming for about 2-3 days each day 3 hours of playtime

I received my first Disgusting Oozeling from one of the Glutinous Oozes in Un'Goro Crater, as I was riding from Marshall's Refuge to Silithus to go Trick or Treating. I did not know I didn't have the Flight Path and was slightly disgruntled that I had to ride, but had I flown I never would have seen the mob that dropped the bag that contained the Oozeling.

My rule of thumb is that whenever I see the slime mob when I'm out and about, I kill it and loot it for the pet. I have given up on trying to farm for it (which I used to do in Eastern Plaguelands and Felwood, for hours on end). That way I don't feel like /wrist if it doesn't drop, out of disappointment.

I haven't learned the pet yet. Sort of thinking about how valuable it may be after the Xpac.

I have been farming these for a vary long time and i farm them in eastern plague land scar's i have noticed that when i farm them early in the morning i have more bags drop about 3 per 10 mobs and then later in the day i only get 1 bag per 10 mobs i have had 4 drop for me before and they have all droped on my level 70 priest...i don't think that matters but when i did it on my hunter nothing droped

This wonder just dropped for a friend while we were in AQ20 from the 5th flesh hunter we killed. He gave it to me as he has no real interest in pets.

Point for thought: We were inside the instance while the resets were being made and when we wiped we found that everything re-spawned when we re-entered.

A faster way to farm this companion is have 2 characters,one in the Weeping cave located in Western plaguelands(WPL),the other going back an forth in the 2 scars located in Eastern plaguelands(EPL).Once youve cleared the cave on your first character,logout,then get on your other one thats in EPL,clear both scars.Repeat,I havent got mine yet,ive been farming it for about 1 week.Hopefully I will get it soon,im gonna sell it in AH so I can get 300% flying skill.Wish all you guys luck,pray for me,still farming it now.

Oh an btw,if you go to Weeping cave,make sure to kill the rotting behemoths,they share spawns with slimes.

Got it after about 10 bags, Farmed in Weeping Caves
The hard part was getting the bags to drop, and I killed probably 50 or so of the vile slimes and devouring oozes combined.

I'm debating now to sell it or to keep it,

I think I'll put it up for 7500 and if it doesn't sell within 48 hrs then I'll keep it.

After all, I already have the toxic wasteling, which in my opinion is much more nifty since it can eat critters and gain size and thus letting you screw with people on Putricide and stuff with it.

For those of you asking if the pet is getting removed...remember, it's not on the official list of "This goes, and That stays" that Blizzard released.
(You know, the one saying the ZG mounts are leaving but Baron's mount is staying, etc.)

Knowing Blizzard, there will still be Oozes to grind. Although...with it being a new expansion, a lot of players aren't going to be interested in farming old pets. At least not early on.

I unlike a lot of people farm for fun. Yes, I did just say that. I have farmed this for a few weeks pre-shattering roughly 6+ hours straight; switching off to other rare drops when I needed a break. Today I killed the mobs in Swamp of Sorrow and had the Disgusting Oozeling drop out of one of the bags from the newly added mobs put there. In fairness, I don't know if the drop rate has been increased, but what I do know is the bags dropped as often as they had before with previous mobs. All aside, the oozeling is still obtainable!

I decided to check out vectoria's suggestion of swamp of sorrows it took me approximately 6 hourse of farming but I just got an disgusting oozling off of a shifting mireglob in swamp of sorrows. The drop rate was similar to the cave in plaguelands. I made about 130 gold off of drops and vendor items along with gathering herbs in between for a little extra gold. The only downfall is that you can't mass pull and they are neutral rather than aggressive but it can be done and if you have a gathering profession you can make a little bit of extra cash in between. It's unique, so you cant loot another one, but you could still go around farming the oozes for bags and find one i guess.

Or you could send the pet to an alt, then you can loot one again. :)

In 4.03 they took out the oozes in the cave in WPL and now the only real place I have thot to farm this pet is in un'goro, but the oozes have a horrid respawn time. I spent nearly 5hrs yesterday there and only killed about 40 oozes and only got about 6 or 7 bags. Does anyone know of a better place to farm this pet now? Any help would be awesome ty.

Picked this little guy up In Swamp of Sorrows today. Great place to farm the oozes there. Took me about 1 and a half hours and bag number 25. going to try for another! Good luck all.

Okay, this is weird. I've been having Oozing Bags drop off mobs while I'm questing in Silithus, and I got one off some Twilight's Hammer guy over by Staghelm Point, and what should pop out but this little guy!

Now I just have to decide which character to give him to. :/

Picked up this cute(?) little fella in Swamp of Sorrows. I just created a small route along the river. As the Shifting Mireglobs spawn so quickly there was no downtime. It took a few hundred kills and maybe 50 bags, so I guess I was quite lucky, considering the rates.

Swamp of Sorrows is now a great place to farm for the Disgusting Oozeling. The mob you'll be killing is called Shifting Mireglob. You can run circles around the Shifting Mire without any downtime. Oftentimes you won't even need to mount up, because these mobs respawn very quickly. The drop rate on the bags and pets is still low, but you'll never be out of oozes to kill! It took me around 1500 kills to get my Oozeling. In this location, you're also close enough to both a horde and alliance quest hub that you don't need to run terribly far to empty your bags of vendor trash. :)

When i was lvling my rogue in winterspring, i was killing some sort of worms in starfall village.. when the Azure whelpling dropped i was amazed to see it drop.. and right after i killed another worm it dropped a oozing bag and contained the oozeling.
I never felt any luckier!
Altho i had both mini pets on my main ofc so im trying to sell them now XD

Got 3 Oozlings in around 6 hours at Stoneard, I think the drop rate is higher, I farm on a mage so just icelance spam, blink also helps. They sold for 3,000g each.

i got this in about 6 kills during a quest in the Swam of Sorrows. it was the first bag that dropped. i have a ton of patience and need gold more than pets so it went straight to the auction house. did not sell the first time, so i sent it to another toon, farmed for another for a bit, and had no luck. i will be trying EPL. Felwood was not successful for me . i got a TON of the scum covered back rather than the oozing bag. went back to SoS and got 6 more bags within 30 minutes or so. i'm gonna put it back on the AH. if it doesn't go this time, i'll just keep it.

i killed 2500 ooze, and with a 9% drop chance i did get about 270 bags
and thats how many it took for the 1.3% chance of the digusting oozeling

after farming this yesterday (post above)
took me a while to sell it but i eventually dropped the price to only 2k for a quick sale as i needed artisan flying.

i then went to farm it again today, got it on the 15th bag after 8 minutes.. instead of farming for 8 hours.

just goes to show u it is very random you could get this in seconds or days...

if your serious about farming this pet for profit or even for self satisfaction.
Be prepared for a long and tedious farm. or maybe even a quick detour on the way to ur flight path.

I checked my bags in Gadgetzan after questing in Un'goro.... (i am a lvl 54 warrior) ... well i see a Sacola Gosmenta and open it. It is the second bag i get today... Ok i am just leveling and not farming for anything. This second bag contains a Gosmícula Nojenta! ;) I didn't notice from which mob it dropped, but i'm prettty sure it was somewhere in "The Slithering Scar" while doing the quest Iguarias peculiares and O colosso infante.

Wow, I never even knew about this pet till it dropped. I came to the page to see what it's worth and was shocked to see just how much effort some people put into acquiring it. Hopefully some of you can have the same luck I did and not go through near as much grinding.

The bag with the oozeling actually dropped from a Dredge Crusher (Sandworm looking mob) in Silithus . . . not an ooze.

The bag dropped off of the tenth crusher I killed and the oozeling was in the very first bag.

I figure I was either incredibly lucky, which scares the crap out of me, or the higher level mobs in Silithus afforded a better drop rate.

Just wanted to say I got mine in Silithus. I was doing the cooking quest where I had to get 10 sandworm meat. While I killed about 15-20 of the Dredge Strikers/Crushers. I got the bag and the ozze was in there. Best of luck finding him.

I'm lvling cooking on my Hunter and I had to go to Silithus to farm Sand Worm Meat, which means killing worms. After about 5 worms an Oozing Bag dropped (yes, from a worm there). It contained the pet ! Call me noobish, but I didn't even know that the worms also dropped these bags, let alone an Oozeling. To think about all the hours of Ooze-farming on my Priest back in the days ..
The list that shows where the bags drop does contain the Dredge Crushers and Dredge Strikers so everyone can see they drop them as well, but since I'm quietly hoping I'm not the only noob I thought I'd post this :)

I am a hardcore pet collector, so I decided to get this beauty. I did, afer only a day's work. But how? Follow these quick and easy steps! :P
1:Fly to the Harborage in Swamp of Sorrows;Stonard for Horde.

2:See the web of rivers nearby on the map? That is your boundary. Set up a course throughout the 'web', or massacre every ooze in your path.

3:The oozes you want are called Shifting Mireglobs, and can blend in with the enviroment so turn nameplates on, or keep a keen eye.

4:Collect the Oozing Bags from your oozing adversaries, and I reccomend you collect various other items for chump change.

5:According to Warcraftpets.com, the Oozeling drops from 1 in 85 bags, but, like everything, can be alot less, or the opposite!

Enjoy! Also, the oozes can drop Twill clothing, and is one of the rare (Albeit weak) sets of the game. It can fetch quite a price on the auction house! I attained this during to the Cataclysm, so it still exists, just follow my guide!

I found it at Swamp of Sorrows, near Harborage. I killed 400 to 500 Shifting Mireglobs. It took me around 4-5 hours before finding it.

I started at 9 o'clock in the morning, I stopped the midday to eat (30-40 mins) then again I took a break until 3 hours in the afternoon. A long pause. It changes the ideas and it helps to be more motivated when you restart the hunt. I did it with a level 68 DPS. The Shifting Mireglobs are level 55. From level 65, it should be okay. Of course, it is faster at 70 !

Farming is a long and boring thing but this companion worth it ! It really gives a green poisoned tint. Unfortunately it reduces all our resistances:

Reduces all resistances by 20. ICK!

If you intend to hunt it, I wish you good luck. It takes patience. But you will be rewarded :D

Got mine after only about 20 minutes, then hung around to see if i'd get lucky with one for the AH, 600 kills later i got a second one. Good luck if ya want it the pet, it can be time consuming.

Somewhere, deep within the bowels of the Blizzard headquarters, GMs are watching a live feed from a certain realm. It shows the Swamp of Sorrows, with a little hunter running desperately along the water ways, killing every mireglob she can find. As the hours pass, the GMs drift in and out of the room, laughing to each other about the poor hunter's persistence, and joking about how much longer before she gives up.

Meanwhile, the little hunter slogs along waist deep in the water, never tiring, never faltering. Thousands of oozes have fought her and failed. Doggedly, she loots each and every slimy kill, extracting untold amounts of broken weaponry, skulls (from prior hunters of oozeling companions, she wonders?), and the occasional world drop from the creatures' glutinous remains. Every now and then, she finds an Oozing Bag, and hope flares feebly while she opens it. Alas.... she does not find the little companion pet she seeks.

The little hunter sits down in the slime and cries, while her anxious pet prowls at her side. Soon, however, she stands, dashing away her tears, and narrowing her eyes fiercely at the dreary landscape before her. Followed by her loyal pet, she leaps back into the water, firing upon the closest mireglob.

She has oozes to kill.

Mere minutes after the little hunter resolutely continues her search, her patience is rewarded! She opens an oozing bag, hardly glancing at the contents because her once-bright hopes have been so jaded... and then she sees the little Disgusting Oozeling inside!

It isn't disgusting at all! It's beautiful! It's adorable! It makes the cutest noises! It turns you green! And, yeah, it reduces your stats a little, but whatever, who cares? The little hunter cheers for joy, and hearths to Orgrimmar, determining to take a bath at the earliest opportunity.

Over at the Blizzard headquarters, the GMs grumble in disgust as the little hunter dances about, and finalize the bets they'd placed on her with one another, some paying grudgingly, others receiving triumphantly. "Ah, well," sighs one GM with a significantly emptier wallet, who had been sure the little hunter was about to give up. "There'll always be more people looking for the Disgusting Oozeling..."

I've started with SoS oozes (Shifting Mireglobs), after getting 25~ bags i was tired so decided to go sleep and leave it for tomorrow. Next day i went to SoS with my alt mage to make this a bit faster via blink. When finished with mage i had 120~ - sent bags to main, logged - there was no pet still - so decided to check another locatoin (prolly there could be some higher drop). First i've moved to Un-goro, but found those oozes (The Primal Oozes, The Glutinous Oozes) a bit lower (50-52 lvl) than SoS ones and they are much more spreaded, after gathering 10 bags there i moved to Silithus. Silithus' Dredge Strikers (Worms-snakes) was same for me as Un'goro' mobs - spreaded but higher lvl (54-55 same as in SoS), i managed to farm 17 bags there (but it was really annoying) so after all i to moved back to SoS, farmed there 20~ bags more and found my lovely pet + low level world drop epic :)
*The good thing this bags ain't BOP so you can easily farm it with your alt and then easily send it (pet is not BOP as well).*
I'd say SoS is the best place to farm it (at least was so for me) as those mobs resp timer is really nice, so you will never have problem looking for new mobs, their level is 54-55 (should be one of the highest drop % of bags), also it's nice to have some speed buff (blink, sprint or whatever).
About drop % of bags. For me it was a bit unstable for example, i killed 40 oozes and there was no bag drop but when i killed 41 there were 2 bags at once, so approximately i had 1 bag per 20 oozes which means 5-6% drop. *managed to get 30+ bags per 1 hr with my mage and only 26-28 begs per hour with my main (priest).
Total bags gathered: 190-200~. mobs killed: 3800-4000~, total time spent: 5, 5 hours~

I got mine in a strange fashion... I was doing the quest in winterspring where you have to go through a cave and shut portals, one of these were guardd by 3 oozes.
One of the oozes where in a different colour than the others, otherwise the same, and when I looted it, Mobinfo said the loot was "corrupt" or something and would not be recorded, and then I saw that there was a bag with an oozeling in it.
But whenever I tried to link it to anyone, no link would come up, just text, so I thought something was wrong with it, with the "corrupt" thing and all so I didn't dare to sell it but learned it, and to my relief it worked, and I love the green little oozie

Was planning on farming this lovely little guy this week....and lady luck was on my side because my healer Call to Arms baggie had him in it! :D Good luck to the farmers and the ppl who might get lucky like I did. I know he can be a pain to farm (I have tried in the past) but sooooo worth it! :D

4.1 when you queue and complete a Heroic as a tank, you get a BOA . I so far have got about 20 . One Mechanopeep and one Disgusting Oozeling dropped from those bags. That's fairly easy gold as there are many crazy pets collectors.

I didn't even know this pet was that rare. I was doing the quest chain in the Barrow Den near Starfire Village in WS. When I was done I had about 6 oozing bags, and one of them contained the pet. I debated putting it on the AH but didn't see any others and didn't know how much it might be worth, so just learned it. Once summoned I saw my resist go down 20 and thought was a lousy trick! haha.

I have farmed 3 of these pets. Each time it took over a week of farming off and on while waiting for dungeons to pop. Every time I have sold these for high amounts. The first went for 9k, the second around 8.5k, (both on Blackhand server) and I currently have one up on the ah for 9.1k on Ysera. Good luck in your farming. It's worth the effort when you find one since there's almost never competition on the AH.

Well I thought I'd try today after the realms came back up. Tired of grinding the tiny whelp for 2 days. The first full round of killing the Shifting Mireglobs...not one bag. But then they started dropping and after about the 10th bag I got mine! So excited. Pet #123. Back to the wetlands now :(

I love pets, i'm working on gettin 125, being at 103 currently, i decided to go and farm this little guy. Over 2 days and a total of about 5 hours of farming, this little guy dropped, just as I was ready to give up. Ilove the effect he gives, turning me green and the debuff. I enjoy running around Stormwind on my Spectral Steed with my oozling out, watching some people try and cleanse me. This is my new favorite pet, and it was deffinately worth the farming.

I have to say that I have been lucky with that drop because i killed only 1 mobs, the bag droped and i opened the bag and i found the pet. I must have had the craziest luck. I'm a new player and got the drop when I was leveling in Winterspring. There's a cave with creatures that look like aliens and there were only 3 oozes. I killed them and one of them dropped the bag with this pet. I feel I should sell it because a few thousand gold is no small change at my level, but I soo want to learn it and walk around looking green. I've never even seen anyone with it on my server and my Auctioneer has no records of it ever being listed on my faction's AH in the couple of months I've been playing.

I went to Swamp of Sorrows and farmed off of Globântano Cambiante .

I killed 198 of the Globântano Cambiante and received 22 Sacola Gosmenta . Of course, the Gosmícula Nojenta was in the last bag I received. ^.^

I would suggest doing this with Levitar or Elixir de Andar sobre a Água , as the mobs are in the water, and you might find yourself slowed down by a bit of swimming. I did this on my Priest so Levitate and Açoite Mental was the way to go for me.

Because the streams that the mobs are found in make a sort of figure 8 circuit, I developed a pattern, following the water and killing mobs. If you get a good pattern going, you will never have a shortage of mobs to kill.

This only took me between and hour and two hours to complete. The pet item is "unique".

Day 4 (10-14 hours) of farming this pet, still havent got it. over 2000 shifting mireglobs killed and still nothing.. seems as if this pet doesn't exist on my server O_o

Edit: the next day i got it after 6-7 kills.
total kills = around 2500
bags = around 300
time = 12-16 hours

my goal is to farm 2, one for myself and one to sell for 1516516516514 gold. thanks :D

Highly highly recommend swamp of sorrows,
You can kill about 1 ooze / 10secs.
Best situation is a water walking toon with +run speed and a short CD ranged attack ~3k dmg.

you'll get about 1 bag per 10 oozes, but sometimes you'll get streaks of 40+ oozes without bags.
(which is probably the most frustrating thing)
the pet drop rate from the bags is probably closer to 1%, as some bags only contain coins.

if you can manage 6 oozes / min, you're looking at ~2.5hr farm.

Got this pet today after 45 minutes of grinding. Just head to the Swamp of Sorrows and make circles following the water while killing all the oozeling mobs in sight. Each one has a chance to drop a bag that has a chance of dropping the pet.

finally got this pet.

I camped the cave SW of Everlook in Winterspring, just killing the ooze that spawn in the cave. three spawn together, and they spawn fast enough there's no running around.

I estimate i killed nearly 3000 of the mobs, got maybe 250 bags.

I like the winterspring spot because the whelp might drop as well. There's also ore in that cave, so good spot for a miner to farm.

Got the Gosmícula Nojenta on around my 60th Sacola Gosmenta. Took me about an hour and a half to get while farming in the Swamp of Sorrows killing Globântano Cambiante. Theres a nice, easy, fast spawning bunch of them there. I averaged about 1 Sacola Gosmenta per 90 sec.

Got mine tonight from Swamp of Sorrows, I wasn't keeping count, but i'd estimate that I killed about 300 or so - Just follow map as per here and you'll never run out of something to kill.

It is a fantastic spot - I'd guess I opened about 30+ bags before I got it - Not a painful grind for me, and was pleased to get it.

Farmed this for awhile in Swamp of Sorrows. If you do end up getting a bunch of bags and then opening them up all at once like me make sure to use the oozeling pet (or send it over) if you get it before you open the rest. I got not 2 but 3 of them :)

Might make you a bit of spare gold if you get lucky like me :)

Been farming for about 30 mins each day, Spend half my time ganking ally trying also but Ive had one for myself and 1 each day i farm total of 3 ooze now each within 20-30 mins of farming.
10k average price on Dreadmaul horde for these so not a bad little cash cow if droprates keep up. Sounds like ive been very lucky on these drops as my room mate spent 6 days straight and not 1 ooze.

Got mine at random by doing A tempestade arcana interior. There's a portal with 3 of the Slimes that are larger and have the 'Smiley Face', which dropped a Ooze Bag. Guess I'll see if 10k sells it.

I have found the best way to farm the oozeling is to make a /tar Dredge macro and use it to find and kill Dredge worms in Silithus. Which are plentiful and seem to drop bag often.
I also found that adding a /tar Twilight Prophet to the macro will make it easier to nab this mob when its around. Which drops 7-10 Encrypted Twilight Text. 10 text= 500 Rep points with the Cen Circle.

Spent a couple of hours over the past few months farming the little oozes in the usual haunts but went to Silithus to do quests - , 57, 21 killed a Dredge Striker - first one - found a bag and this inside it!

I was doing Step Into My Barrow killing Coldlurk Burrowers when I found an Oozing Bag, I looted it and was killed by Deathwing, underground and got Stood in the Fire. So I wait for the fire to stop and rez, open the bag and find a Disgusting Oozeling. Shenanigan city limits I declare.

I am almost postive the drop rate has been increased for this - 2nd time in a few days this has dropped, first drop was my first kill of Dredge crusher in Silithus and second was Shifting Mireglob in SoS within 50 kills (33,39).... definately much easier to get.

Prices have gone down though if you wish to sell, only making around 5k compared to the 10k it was going for a while back on AN and seeing many people selling these now.

For rogues who want to farm this, I've found Swamp of Sorrows to be absolutely the best place to go for the oozing bags, while killing the mire globs you can also pickpocket them before you kill them to essentially double your chances at getting a bag, I've gotten 3 of these pets in the last two days at the rate of about 1 1/2 hours of farming a piece.

Just got my pet today after about 5-7 hours of farming. Off and on. I received it from the Shifting Mireblob npc=46997 in Swamp of Sorrows. These have a pretty good respawn rate, so it makes it easy to farm. It did seem that the drop rate of the bags here was a bit higher than other places I have tried. The combination of the two make this a great place to farm without having to wait around while the mobs respawn.

It does give you an in-game debuff, and I believe this is the only non-combat pet to do so.

Well farmed this in swap of sorrows. I probably spent close to 4hrs between 2 days farming this pet. I also opened about 80bags before I got it. Swamp of sorrows is a great place to farm this pet bags have a good drop rate and they spawn very fast. I never waited for any to spawn I was constantly killing and looting. There are a lot of critters out there too probably killed around 300 towards guild acheivment. Happy Farming!

Got a disgusting oozling from a dredge stalker in Silithus.
I farmed for about 4 hours yesterday and none dropped, then today after 5 bags and less then an hour one dropped.
very happy.

Silithus is a good place to farm in my opinion, good spawn rate.

Just bought this today for 5k on my server, and it was worth EVERY penny. I farmed for about 3 weeks straight and nothing ever dropped.....i question the 1.7% drop rate posted honestly. Seems more like a world drop rate (from the bag). You have to be REALLY lucky or be willing to spend the gold imo.

One thing i was a little disappointed in though......it is very slow when u are on a mount. Having a speed buff as a frost DK, I always lose it then have to re-summon. Not sure if this is the case with normal mounts. Obviously with flying mounts it doesn't follow. Oh, it also works with Âmbar Antigo you get trapped in GREEN amber....very cool!

Otherwise love the pet itself. Go big GREEN!

Don't be discouraged over all these people posting that they got the Disgusting Oozeling within 1-100 bags. I just collected my first Oozeling today after my 657th bag. I was about to finish for the day in Swamp of Sorrows when I got 3 bags in a row. I decided to farm for another 10 minutes and sure enough I saw my first drop! It's an awesome pet overall especially with the Corrupted Firehawk. Good luck to you all!

The green color from this pet's debuff looks great when used with a variety of mounts, including Ovo Fumegante de Millagazor , Cinzas de Al'ar and the Garrachama de Alysrazor. I am not sure how it would look on Ovo Corrompido de Millagazor. Other mounts will turn greenish as well, with various ones i haven't listed showing little effects on specialized areas like that of the flames of the formentioned mounts which will turn green.

But I have none of those things. What I DO have is Mandíbula das Chamas de Fandral aka Firecat for feral kitty form. The aura from Gosmícula Nojenta modifies firecat in an interesting way. Instead of turning the entire player green, it just turns the flame mantle and tail green, and leaves the rest of the cat orange. Also, I found this item, Isca de Grimnur, from one of the Ironforge fishing dailies, which turns the mantle/tail a very bright fire red, and slightly colors the body darker orange/red. I would assume this works on all the above mounts. The quest can be accepted and left in the log, and the item can be used anywhere (lasts 5 minutes, no cooldown but you can't reapply it till it wears off).

Here is a screenshot of firecat with both the red and green buffs respectively

Also, the buff from Medalhão de Leyara also gets a nice effect from either items, though more towards what most characters generally get, i.e. changes the entire character model hue, but still looks cooler than average.

If anyone finds any other items that do similar color changes, even the same but with a different item, I am all ears. I would particularly like to find one to turn it blue, but anything you know of would be great, thanks!

I got mine last night from the AH for 7500 gold (my profs been doing well). It has been around 14k lately so I bought it, #124 for me.

I need to add that it has two forms that I've seen. The first is the one you see when you summon the companion. He looks like a dow scrubbing bubble, like many of the slimes in WoW. Then when I wasn't looking last night he turned into the type with legs like tentacles, like the mutant horrors in the fetid pool. I'm not sure if it is on a timer or if something causes the companion to change appearance. I'll be watching.

Got one after about 2hrs.

Loc: Winterspring, inside cave under text on map: Mazthoril. tloc: 54,63.
Go inside cave a bit, until you see three lvl54 Dimensial Oozes, the only ones in the cave. Gosma Dimensional
Respawn in about 1,5 mins.

Hunter 82 used multishot for instant kill on all 3, forward to loot, backward to wait.
Now I will try to get the next one. Not souldbound on pick up, may be sold on ah.

Currently I'm opening my 541th Oozing bag, and have yet to see the pet come out of it.

Running for 3 days on and off in Swamp of Sorrows killing the globs combining it with camping TLPD and Vyragosa (when I think it's time for it), gathering the books in Dalaran (while I'm there anyways, with the Kirin Tor ring teleporting me there) and HSing back to farm the globs.

Loads of herbs, uncommons, rares and even a world epic item, but all I want is that sweet little blob of muck.

Farming on...

Edit, 6 days further on (I'm farming for an hour at a time) and probably around 6000 kills and 800+ bags in, I still don't have the pet.
For me personally this must be the most elusive pet so far.
I never had to kill this huge amounts to get items I was after.
The luck in other cases seems to elude me here.

Yet I farm on, because it just wants to be in my collection :D

Edit 2, 14 days after my initial post. 14000 kills and 1100+ oozing bags, and still that little f*****r didn't drop yet.
I start to doubt it exists in Swamp of Sorrows.

Edit 3, a good hour later I finally have it. Counter stayed on 1157 Oozing bags. By far my most time consuming pet to get to date.

Best place to farm Sacola Gosmenta is Pântano Vadeoso! There are enough rivers near Stonard with Globântano Cambiante. They spawn every 7-10 sec.

If you want to farm this pet here are some tips:

- It will eventually drop, in theory 1/10 bag drop - about 1/100 to contain in bag. 1.7% still pretty much 1% is more likely.
so in a 1000 kills you might see one or sooner of later.

-To make killing fast, make a macro.
For example for hunters.
/tar shift
/cast arcane shot

-Gl with farming, got mine @ 41th kill :)

With all these comments, no one's going to read mine, but I'm so excited, I just have to share that I found my Oozeling in Swamp of Sorrows tonight after reading up on it on wowhead! I took the advice to go to Sithilus, which I did, but after an hour and a half in that vile wasteland running around looking for the scarce worms, I was feeling pretty bitter. Only a few bags dropped. Then I went to Swamp of Sorrows killing the mireglobs, and on the third bag that dropped, the Oozeling was mine! I sure wish I had this kind of luck in real life. I noticed someone has a Disgusting Oozeling for sale on the AH (Aman Thul server) for an eye-watering 58,000G. Well, I wish that player luck, but I'm keeping my new pet. Got Mine after 40bags. saved up about 80bags in my bank after 2 hours. The more bags you have the better chance you have to get the pet. for example: 15bags= 25%. these bags arent very hard to get. I farmed the Shifting Mireglob which had a pretty good chance to get the pet. i tried farming it in Slitihus but no bags:( so went to Swamp of Sorrows and SUCCESS!

THis pet reponds to Dark Iron Ale Mug (also the Jubling pet will react to the Dark IRon Mug)

the Oozeling will go to it and burp! :) how funny!

I got the best drop rate for the bags in the Swamp of Sorrows by killing the Mireglobs. I tried the Silithus worms but I couldn't get any bags after about 20 kills, and the 5th or 6th Mireglob I killed dropped a bag.

Got the pet after about an hour total of farming, and it'll take a few days to sell but I think I'll get 10k minimum from it, so it's pretty great.

So I recommend killing the Mireglobs in western Swamp of Sorrows, in the rivers. There are a lot of them all across the rivers and re spawn very quickly, so you'll never run out.

Also, there's a great advantage to do this at higher levels because you can one shot them without fail each and every time, however doing this after level 54 is always an option.

I just recieved this loot after around 3 hours of hardcore farming, and i have a few tips:

a) farm in Swamp of Sorrows, there is an insane abundance of NPCs that drop the bag.
b) I did it as a holy pally, but regretted not using my rogue, or my feral druid for the extra movement speed increase
c) Set to Autoloot, and open bags as they come. It might feel as if you have a dry streak where no bags have dropped, but you will get lucky soon with 2 or 3 (almost) in a row.

Besides for that, you just need patience, in 3 hours i opened 51 bags, which is epic. There is nothing to it except a nice cup o' joe, and a relaxing chair. Music also helps a ton!

You will have it soon, a challenge, but nothing you can't handle!

Having farmed two of these, I really feel that a 85 hunter is the best at farming these. Not only can you use Aspect of the Cheetah, but every auto shot is a kill. It's simply a matter of running in a figure eight through the canals of Swamp of Sorrows constantly looting Shifting Mireglob's.

Really hard to find, but I suggest farming/killing the dredge strikers and the other monsters around them. I was questing on my rogue when I got my first, and now am going on for my second. It could be a hassle because of the 8% chance the bag is going to drop, then you have to also have the 1.6% of the pet. Try to relax yourself after every 30 bags or so and do something else for a couple of minutes to take your mind off of it.

I was farming for Azure Whelping in Winterspring when i ran into 3 Dimensional Oozes inside Mazthoril. One of them drops a bag which contain the disgusting oozing which made me very happy :)

When i summon him, he gave me the debuff but its also level 5 with 102 health instead of level 1 and 42 health

Is this the only pet thats not level 1 or is there others?

Like people have stated several times I really recommend Swamp of Sorrows. The Ooze Bags have great drop chance and the respawn of the oozes are very quite. You basicly can finish one route and get the respawn once you're done.

I spent around 2 hours of farming with only several greenies in success while my girlfriend joined in later and got 1 after 25 minutes.

I recommend you clear up some bag space due to plenty of greenies and greys will be dropped if you intend to farm for a few hours.

Hello again fellow farmers, i got my Oozeling yesterday morning, did spend 2 days farming 4 hours a day , around 3500 kills and a couple of hundred bags on my lvl85 lock on Eonar server EU, i was farming the Shifting Mireglob in Swamp of Sorrows was alone there most if the time, it is a hard grind , The Harborage is near by for you to repair and get rid of junk and also to send other usefull drops by mail to alts.

I did go around in the same pattern, doing the outer small rivers and just dotting the targets as i was going a long and looting on my way back from the inner rivers to the outer ones again, good spawn time had a couple of blue drops and loads of greens and patterns for BS, i did also kill a few spiders for the White spider meat and Ironweb Silk they sell good on AH.

I just got my second oozeling today (I had used my first one, so it being Unique was not a problem, also been farming for about 9 hours.

I'm not 100% sure of this, but the ooze MAY be connected to the rare-spawn dragon "Jade" which spawns in the middle of The Shifting Mire. I seem to recall that I killed "Jade", and after about 30 minutes I got my first oozeling. And about 30-40 minutes ago (as of now), "Jade" spawned again, and I just got my second oozeling.

do NOT open the bags once you get them, get like 10 bags (like me) and open them. Otherwise, you'll get discouraged.

Gosmícula Nojenta has a 1.6% drop-rate from Sacola Gosmenta (1 Ooze per 62.5 bags). Sacola Gosmenta has a drop-rate of 21% from Caça-carne (1 bag per 4.76 kills) & a drop-rate of 9% from Globântano Cambiante (1 bag per 11.11 kills). If my math is correct, these numbers mean Gosmícula Nojenta has a .336% overall drop-rate from Caça-carne (1 Ooze per 297.62 kills) & a .144% overall drop-rate from Globântano Cambiante (1 Ooze per 694.44 (repeating) kills). Interestingly, this means Gosmícula Nojenta is technically less of a rare drop than some whelplings, though you do have to deal with 2 drops here, so I'm not sure how it'll play-out.

Note: Every time you see ___ per ___, that is an average, it's impossible to say exactly, because chance is a large factor and in the interest of tidying up I didn't put "average" every time. Also, please feel free to check my math, I have and everything seems to add-up. I spent a lot of time formatting this and figuring the math, so I hope it helped. ;)

Well I farmed over 1300 Globântano Cambiante with no success I opened 127 bags in total.
I ended up with 1000 broken weapons and skulls.

What made it worse was my friend said they got theirs on the first monster, so they went back and got a 2nd one while I was running around like a lunatic killing over 1300 monsters.

I farmed for over 8 hours for this guy and couldn't find him. I decided since it's only worth about 5000 gold on my server and it takes so much damn time to farm I'd just give up and farm a whelpling, sell that for 15k, buy my oozeling, and have 10k to spare. I decided on trying for a Tiny Emerald Whelpling.. and after killing ~2 hours worth of Noxious Whelps, I got one.

Many people here seemed to have gotten exceptionally lucky, or I'm exceptionally unlucky, but I'd still suggest doing what I did to anyone on a server with similar pricing.. that is if you don't mind not farming the oozeling yourself. From my experience the drop rate is much too low to justify the 5k worth.

Ok so I was farming the Shifting Mireglobs in SoS, I killed 969 oozes, got 87 bags so my drop chance on the bags was about 10%. I finally got my ooze in the last bag. I like this farming spot as they respawn quickly and its not a crowded area. Along with my ooze, I collected roughly 45g in the bags, 3 blue items, one worth quite a bit, 12 greens and lots of trash. Just keep at it! I was about to give up, glad I didnt. Just when I thought " this is soooo not worth it" I got the bag with the ooze :)

I was farming for about 30 minutes.. I went to Swamp of Sorrows and killed Shifting Mireglobs

I stupidly forgot to keep count of bags as I was opening them as I got them... I ended up getting:

193 broken armor
21 skulls
5 greys
3 recipes
3 greens
14 herbs and 30 potions (these came out of the bags)

Then I got the pet! Very easy.. my main was a hunter I just ran around aspect of the cheetah shooting away and looting everything... spawns quick so you could do a lap and it would spawn..

When I started opening them and finding only junk I got a little sad but about 5 bags in I struck GOLD! I had gotten my dear oozling. I figured I'd open the rest of the bags and see what more junk I had only to find 2 more bags later I had yet ANOTHER one! 2 Oozlings. Woohoo! Talk about luck! :) Then as someone else had mentioned earlier I looked up to see Jade the dragon had spawned right in front of me not just a few minutes later. Maybe the 2 are on the same timer!

OMG i can't belive how lucky i am, i just doing the quest in Deepholm and droped a bag and open it and i see this guy, i have no idea this was a companion. So i came here on WoWHead and i'm so surprised. Btw the Ooze is cool.

I've farmed for this pet for about 12 or more hours in Swamp of Sorrows. So far, it's proving to be very...well...sorrowful. There's about 35 oozes each lap and about 2 bags drop per lap (sometimes you get more bags sometimes you get less). So far, I've opened 312 bags - so around 5460 ooze kills - and still no pet.

Spent about 2 hours farming for these, about 5-6k gold each on my server. Got one in about 40 minutes, in Swamp of Sorrows. The bags dropped about 1/10th of the time. Got another one in about 20 minutes(my luck). Put 2 up on the AH, sold one for 5k. Good way to make money if you feel like you have luck, or if you are patient.

2.5 hours and 637 oozlings later, I still haven't got one. Worst off, I think I looted roughly 25 bags with world blue drops and other rare items. Guess it's back to farming tomorrow. This was in Swamp of Sorrows. Sooner or later I'll get the bugger.

I found mine in Silithus while just killing creatures for a quest. Prob 3rd or 4th bag i opened and there it was! So excited to have a new companion, especially since I was not even expecting it!

Got mine today in Silithus. Farmed the bags from Dredge Crusher's and Dredge Strikers. The drop rate can be discouraging, but the bags will drop. I suggest not doing a marathon farm session, unless that's just your thing. I farmed for a maximum of 30 minutes a day, which resulted in 10-15 bags. I didn't open them up until i was done farming, as somebody mentioned before, opening up one at a time can be discouraging. In all it took me 5 days, which i didn't think was bad, and i didn't get burned out.

Farmed for 15 minutes and not even kidding, Swamp of Sorrow's is the place to go if you want this amazing pet!
I opened probably 6 oozing bags, from roughly 30-40 kills i'd say, they respawn fast and as others have said, you find a pattern that works for you, you will have no trouble at all gaining this pet, whether it comes to pure luck or not i guess i feel for those who have worked their behinds off for this, but without the advice on here i would have been wasting my time in felwood killing the wrong oozling's that drop a completely different bag :S! So thankyou to all with your input. And if you haven't got yours, don't give up :)

So decided i wanted one yesterday evening... went to swamp of sorrows for #$%^s and giggles.. 3 bags and 2 minutes later i had one... a minute later the BF got one as well. we were floored. we tried to get a 3rd one for our friend who's father was in the hospital and got one 5 minutes later. The swamp of sorrows location might be bugged.

i got mine after farming the Dimensional Oozes in Winterspring, well worth the wait for my little Goblin and the oozes drop the oozing bag rather often, as a major roleplayer and with a LOVE of goblins ( as they remind me of myself and just cause i love the wild lil spitfires ) i feel the ooze goes well with the goblin theme

Got this guy in ~200 kills from Swamp of Sorrows, took about 45mins. Note though that this guy leaves a 20 resistance debuff on you and colors you green :x

Tips:
#1 Press ctrl + v to bring up name plates
#2 keybind your flying mount
#3 Do circles around the streams at the western end of Swamp of sorrows, killing the oozes fast and mounting up as soon as you've looted if none are nearby.
#4 The oozes only last till around the horde camp, so don't farm any further than that.

I'm absolutely over the moon at the moment - I must be one of the luckiest people alive!

I went back to the Swamp of Sorrows to resume my drudging around, having done a total of around two and a half hours of farming. I got off to a good start with a nice drop rate of around 1 in 5 for the Sacola Gosmenta. This is pretty darn good as I had 1 in 10 last time I farmed.

Now, I prefer to save up the bags to a certain amount and then open them all in a row. I had decided to collect 20 Sacola Gosmenta. Thanks to the high drop rate I got them in around half an hour after around 230 kills. My luck was pretty good here as it happens lots of pairs of Sacola Gosmenta and at one point I got two in a row followed by 2 dropping from one Globântano Cambiante, that was about 4 in 10 seconds, haha.

I ported to Dalaran and then started opening the bags and lo and behold my third bag had one - I was ecstatic. I then sent the Gosmícula Nojenta to an alt and got back to the bags. About another two in.... BAM, a second Gosmícula Nojenta. I couldn't believe my luck - I'd read about it happening but was pessemistic enough about finding even one! So again it was sent to an alt, I opened two more bags and sitting there was ANOTHER Gosmícula Nojenta. My feelings at this point were just over the moon - I have no idea what the chances of this happening are but I know it's extremely unlikely.

I personally still find it unbelievable it happened.

Something else I can confirm is it is possible to get a double drop of Sacola Gosmenta.- who knows what the chances
are!

To everyone else who is farming, good luck and don't give up. Persevere!I;m sure you'll get a drop soon!

Just wanted to let everyone know this thing is AMAZING in pet battles.

Level 1 12 Attack and 10 Speed is pretty good, and its Magic Type makes it a great pet to level up since not many things are mechanical in the wild.

I believe this is my first post on wowhead, and also my first grind of this marvelous companion. Today I'm feeling lucky so I decided to head out to swamp of sorrows, because it's by far the best grinding spot, according to a lot of posts from this site. I'm currently on my 49th bag and I have space for 5 more, it took me about 1h30m to get the bags. During my grind, one of the oozes dropped Égide de Ventobravo wich has a 0,01% drop rate, wich in turn is only making me feel even more lucky. Well, 5 more bags and I'll find out how lucky I am today.

Just to clarify the disgusting oozeling droprate. They have a 1.5% dropchance from a bag that has a 5-9% dropchance from mobs. This means every 740th to 1333th kill you will get a pet, on average. The actual droprate is therefore 0.096% (+-0.021).

Swamp of Sorrows. Shifting Mireglob. Aggravation mounting...

Well over 5000 kills, over 500 Oozing Bags. 8 Hours of non-stop grind. Nothing. Bags dropping at expected rate. I should have seen at least 3-4 of these suckers by now, even at the outside of the combined drop rate. I can only suspect that my drop rate was affected by the odd passer-by, and one of them (or more) got lucky and sniped the Oozeling. Drop Totals:

Grey: ~4700
White: ~ 500 (just Oozing Bags)
Green: ~ 150 (various armor, weapons, and plans)
Gold: 13 - 27 Silver each bag

I can verify the listed drop rate of the various other items available from the Bag, Herbs, Coin, etc. The good news is that anyone looking to create the Ebonhold set, I have had great luck with collecting those items available.

Back to the grind. Good luck... hopefully better than mine.

Within 20 min of post... 15 additional bags, including the standard $ and swag, the Oozeling (finally), a Glowing Brightwood Staff, which sold on AH for 2k within minutes, and a Swashbuckler's Eyepatch that is an excellent t'mog piece for my set.

Moral:
Perseverance pays off. Stick with it.

After many years I finally want to comment on an amazing special ability this unique pet had in vanilla. This was the only pet that caused the user to have a debuff. Back in vanilla, summoning a pet also had no global cooldown. During this same time, there was also a debuff limit that a player could have.

Putting 1 and 1 together, for several weeks, it was possible to create a macro that would clear all your debuffs by summoning/desummoning a pet 30+ times in an instant. This meant that you could clear dots, pre-cast to make yourself immune to crowd control. It was usable in raids, and thus completely broke some encounters (clear burning adrenaline for vael, flame buffet, chromaggus debuffs etc). PVP against many classes (I was a rogue) was completely broken. :)

Thus, the Aura Nojenta da Gosmícula spell no longer does anything.
What this means for you: Rejoice, you can now have your oozeling out in any combat situation!

Confirmed 4/1/2013 (Patch 5.2)- All resistances reduced by 20, turns you green and you stay that way if in combat. Also will stay green if mounted and on ground, if you fly the effect ends until you land again.

The green effect from the pet is very comparable to the green fire warlocks get after completing quest from O Códice de Xerrath.

I did notice that the destruction ability was a marginally brighter (and better in my opinion) green.

Looks great with various mounts such as Garrachama de Alysrazor, Ovo Fumegante de Millagazor, or Rédeas do Draco do Crepúsculo.

Only disadvantage is the slight debuff of resistance, so it should preferably not be used in a raid.

I just got this yesterday. This pet looks great with mounts such as the Time-Lost Proto Drake or Azure Cloud Serpent.

Also did the drop rate of the bags increase? I remember when I would have to kill about 30 oozes just to find one, it seems to be more like 10 now and even then I get lots of the bags in a row.

I just got this pet Toxic Wasteling. It is the same model as Disgusting Oozeling. The most fun part for this pet is not only it eats critters but also it grows bigger.

Received mine today from questing and killing Dredge Stalkers they drop the oozling bag. Was the first bag I opened, went to check if the pet was rare and seems to be so.

Just got this on Area-52 after about 3 hours of grinding in Swamp of Sorrows. Tip for hunters: turn on elemental tracking to see the oozes on your minimap.

I must be the luckiest person alive. I had no idea how this pet would drop, but there I was just questing away in Winterspring. I killed a group of slimes and one dropped a bag, I opened it up and what happened to be inside? This pet! On the first bag drop I've ever had! Feel free to hate me everybody.

Finally got my oozeling after being opening 46 bags in Swamp of Sorrows. I do not know how many Shifting Mireglob I have killed but it took a bit time before I got lucky enough to get him. Good thing to do when farming this is to listening to music or play another game on the same time :P I played for instance League of Legends meanwhile farming in WoW a little bit when the time allowed it.

I have been dotting around various places. Swamp of Sorrows. Ungoro crator, fel wood. No luck as yet, but then I have not really been trying. The mobs spawn rather quickly in Swamp of sorrows I have noticed though, also I have taken note that it seems a popular place to farm this disgusting slimy...thing...I think I will call it...IT lol

As of 6.2 the Disgusting Oozeling no longer ~~applies a debuff to the player or~~ turns players green.

Great way to have a green felfire hawk if you know you will never get to 250 mounts. Then confuse people by flying up a foot ( turns the real color ) then landing and turning green.

When you first loot this pet it is Common Quality (White). Don't have to waste a Marked Flawless Battle-Stone to instantly upgrade this to Rare Quality (Blue). Just add this to your Pet Journal and it will become Rare Quality (Blue).

I farmed the Oozing Bags for about 2.5 hours in Swam of Sorrows. In that time I farmed about 137 bags. I received the pet in the 131st bag. It's a tough grind but defiantly one of my favorite pets in game. If you are farming this pet, don't get discouraged. My last attempt took well over 200 bags to catch this little guy.

Interestingly enough the base model for the oozeling is gray. I found out when I used a Espelho Mágico de Ajudante on it and dismissed the oozeling. Its aura is what gives it its disgusting coloration.

Farmed mireglobs in Swamp of Sorrows for the pet

1,980 kills for 84 bags giving a drop rate of 4.2%. Got my pet on the 75th bag which gives a chance of 13.3%.

Pet has a 0.013% chance to drop on each kill

I can confirm that I was on a level 59 Fire Mage and was unable to get any of the bags, when I switched to my level 46 Hunter I was able to get the pet after 6 bags. I was in the Swamp of Sorrows near the Harborage. They are all over the water there. Happy hunting!

Found my first pet today after farming for a while with my 49 hunter specially made for hunting this pet. (Experience capped at 49.)

Running laps in Swamp Of Sorrows for the Shifting Mireglobs, you can expect on average 1 bag every lap, with some laps yielding nothing and others maybe up to 3 bags.
The rest is just plain luck.
Didn't count the bags I got but it was certainly around the 70 mark. Only the Wowhead addon knows the actual amount.

Other loot from these Mireglobs didn't include anything special so I would suggest only hunting them for the pet.

According to this forum post, the Shadowlands level squish seems to have quite negatively affected drop rates of the Sacola Gosmenta, making them only drop in certain level ranges. The TL:DR is that if you aren't in Chromie Time and at a level where they're dropping Linfa Verde Borbulhante, Linfa Abjeta, and Crânio Mastigados (around levels 40-50, at the time of the post), then you can't get the Sacola Gosmenta. This means farming them in the Death Knight tutorial is dead.

Unsure what the level range is now that Chromie Time goes to level 60.

For anyone who want to get it with max level character (without using Chromie time), the best way to farm it is by killing Flesh hunters in Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj. There are 5 of them (2 in The Reservoir and 3 in The Hatchery areas). I usually get 1 Oozing bag per run (make sure to not kill any bosses so you can do 10 runs per hour). Don't waste your time by killing slimes in Un'Goro/Swamp of Sorrows/Hillsbrad Foothills. I killed hundreds of them, wasted hours and none of them dropped a single bag.

As of TWW I was getting oozing bags at level 63 using the Cata Chromie Time method. Hopefully this info helps anyone else who wants to farm it this way right now.

For me it worked on a level 63 rogue with Cataclysm timewalking. I blocked XP and after 96 bags I got the pet.

I remember getting this pet when Cata was current from the living bloods in Deepholm.
It is definitely not part of their loot table even though when I target one, it says that it can still drop from them.
