You can get this pet from having an authenticator on your account. It will appear in the mail for all of your characters. He has a similar Battle Pet Ability to Dig in pokemon :)

Good old Core Hound Pup. At level 22 it one-hitted Aki the Chosen's legendary Chirrup with a combination of Howl followed by Burrow. I'm pretty sure she is still mad.

An interesting side-note... if you ever deactivate your authenticator for some reason, this pet becomes deactivated - it still shows as being owned in your pet journal, but you can't use it (for fighting or to summon). You regain the use of it as soon as you reinstate an authenticator.

This is a great pet to use against critters. Thrash, Dodge and Burrow...very nice combo!

By the way: tablets also count. I was worried that I had to buy a "smart"phone* or a Blizzard authenticator. Hope this info helps.

*(Word smart really doesn't apply to AI).
