This rare can be summoned by pulling 5 levers scattered around The Ringing Deeps.

After pulling them all within 10 seconds a zone wide announcement will say:

"As the earthen machinery turns, something begins to stir in the nearby lake"

The lurker of the deeps will then spawn in the lake at the south of the zone at
/way 60.80 76.68

It has 22 million hp and is not guaranteed to drop the mount (I saw none drop in the ~20ish person group I was in).

The 5 levers to pull that are needed to summon this rare do not all spawn at the same time.

My group of friends were sitting on 2 visible levers, the other 3 not spawning (yet).

We're thinking that it has to do with random levers being pulled by people not knowing what it's for, and them then going on some cool down.

As soon as all five levers have been successfully activated at the same time, a message appears in the chat indicating that something is starting to rain in a nearby lake. The rare then appears in the western zone. It takes a while for the enemy to appear, so even the most distant players have enough time to fly to the combat area. He can drop Regurgitated Mole Reins

Loot from this rare is on a daily lockout.
Anyone within lvl 70-80 can loot it.

The info below seems to have been proven wrong.

Got a group together for this, only 2 levers were up. over 20 mins the other 3 spawned.

Seems like a Rare that needs a convivial Group of people to work together for... only TWO levers up at a time may make it not something Blizz. are in a great deal of hurry for players to get, at the moment... or in any great numbers, at least.

If the leader of your group is not 80, these levers will not appear! I just listed a group as a level 75, got a few people to join and no levers were up. We disbanded group, and an 80 whispered me that the lever they were on had appeared. I joined their group, and had a lever next to me appear.

Since the Undermine update apparently shifted the coordinates, making the old ones useless, here are the new ones

The coordinates of the Inconspicuous Levers elsewhere in the comments seem off.

I have checked the current locations of the levers and came up with this list:

The way these levers work currently need a change. If not now, then in Midnight. Spent around 40 minutes with a group posted in LFG on a Friday night (Oct 10, 2025) so we can get a group together of 5+ to do the levers at the same time. Only two other people signed up in that time frame.

The southernmost lever is inaccurately described as 'in an alcove'. It is in fact between two mine carts at the entrance to an alcove,

Some notes from farming this late into TWW
- It drops quite often. I got mine with 31 tries after watching it drop some 7-8 times
- Twice it drop 2 mounts in a group of 5-7 people (including mine)
- Dropped on a level 70
- Lord of the Reins Discord made a huge difference. It was taking 15 minutes or more to get all 5 people, but once I started posting on Discord, groups were filled (ie, at least 5) in 5m minutes or less
- Lever's 2 and 3 (the ones close to Darkflame Cleft entrace) and be done by one person
- The levers reset instantly if all 5 are not pulled within the 10s window (so there is not risk of screwing up)
- The levers respawn out of order, so you might see groups when one or more are still not available

I knew the minute I found out about this mount that I was going to have a hard time getting it. It's my fault because I forgot about it until just this week for more then a year but there is only so much time I can wait around in LFG before I gave up. I was doing it at 2am in the morning after work and then just to sit in the Deeps for 2 or more hours waiting for just one person to join me when I need 5. Some times I would get 1 or 2 people to join but after an hour or so they would give up. Some times I gave up before them because I would have already spent over an hour waiting and I also needed to sleep. Plus there only so much time you can spend in the Deeps when there so much other stuff I need to get done.

Hopefully I will be able to get it this week and there be people up I can beg to lend a hand.
