EDIT: seems as of now its bugged and you only get credit if you're NOT in a raid. a party or just being there gives credit. im sure thisll get hotfixed

Soul Prisons are buggy as they walk down the stairs, couldn't get a spell off 3/4 of the time like there was a LOS issue.

The world quest wasn't even showing up in the objective frame the first four times I killed Mor'geth. Not sure if this will help anyone, but this is what I did to get credit finally:

- Did the Beastwarrens Hunt (the hunt objectives kept changing and popping up throughout my attempts so I thought maybe clearing it might help)
- Joined a small group, so that I loaded into their phase before the boss was pulled

Once I saw the quest objective pop up, I killed him and finally got credit.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it looks to me that this boss and everything else in the Beastlands isn't doable until
you become ambivalent with Ve'nari and do the rule 6 quest.

Hi all

This WB is located 68 44. Stay inside line made by 4 Trash ( outside You will get a lot of dmg ), care on his Damnation is like a beam. From Time to time 3 Trash from corner will come to Him You need to take them down to move them back to corner ( stay inside lines ). Best is just kill all trash next to boss + stay inside lines xD.

I have to say, this fight is a fantastic way to 'spend' stygia... -.-

Just did my first kill, which took a while due to most of the time having my vision obscured (with no logical reason how not to be? I don't even...).
Died to standing outside the 4 beams (fair enough, didn't know), and forgot I was in the maw and the whole dying=stygia loss thing is still a thing (really blizz, you couldn't kill that off alongside no mounting?). Died again to something else (frontal beam I think? honestly it's hard to see with such a mass of stuff going on), then noticed the 'you lost stygia x xxx', and sank... urgh

Trying to find my corpse in amongst that sea of clusterfudge got me killed again...

So yeah... if you do this fight, either 'get gud', or just stay dead if/when you do (which isn't very useful to your group...) / hope for a battlerez.

Great game design there blizz. GG...

Having huge line of sight issues when trying to target the activated Soul Cages, even while standing inside the lines. The only reliable way to hit them seems to go into melee. I think I've been able to hit them from range a few times, but it's very much hit and miss.

So I'm trying to get to this guy and I had to go through dozens of elite mobs who charge AND snare and on non-tanks that means getting dazed but wait! There's more!

Thanks to the uneven terrain in the whole area and the terrible and overzealous server side code, getting dazed and falling on to the uneven ground has a very high chance of causing an instant disconnection and coming back to a corpse plus corpse run.

When I finally get to the boss I'm greeted by a fight with terribly buggy mechanics and other players trying to troll and grief the group by various means. I mean great job here... with the testing and the design... and then there's the server lag.

For those who have trouble getting to the boss:

Go to the Maw /way 58.1 62.5

Then climb up the ledge (navigate your way up by using the grooves on the rocks, going left and right) until you reach /way 63.0 46.1

Then you can goblin glide down either to the world boss or the raid entrance without fighting any mobs.

Re: Renown issues.

You can still get Renown from the old World Bosses IF you haven't finished Chapter 3 of the new Covenant Campaign.
I had a case where I had done the old boss, then finished the campaign, and then did Mor'geth and did not get a 2nd
Emblem for killing a World Boss for the week.

This doesn't explain all the problems mentioned upthread but it may apply to a few.

This is hands down the worst world boss they ever added to the game.

I've gotten used to the lag, cause it's the same as any of the other four SL zones when the world boss is active that week.

But then they decide to add a timed mechanic to this boss with soul cages running to the middle.
The combination of lag with the multiple issues regarding line of sight and obscured vision make this the most annoying, and longest world boss fight to this day.

In case you're wondering: If you die, you rez very nearby—not all the way back by Ve'nari! Also in my experience as of Wednesday, July 7th, I did not lose stygia after zoning in to an in-progress group and immediately dying to a death ray to the face.

Also: If you have a knockback, snare, or spell like ring of peace, use them on the soul cages so you don't all die when they get too close and there's nowhere safe to stand.

This world boss is terrible. It is extraordinarily laggy, even worse than the other 4 world bosses. The soul cages are out of your line of sight the majority of the time, for no reason. They can also be death gripped in. One DK with slappy hands is all it takes to instantly pull them all to the center. Who designed this?

it is much easier to go there from Keeper's Rest in Korthia - just go up from the zone and you'll go to the bottom part of the Maw.

For some reason i appeared to be phased somehow - when i get to the platform i cannot see the boss.
When i join party WM off i cannot see other party members as it tells me they are in a different phased to me.
I have not killed this boss this week and my WM is off - any ideas ?

As hunter, it's easy to drop aggro, when reaching final point, but with other classes, it's bloody difficult to get there and still stay alive to face the boss. No corpserun :(

Another way to reach him is "Oil of Ethereal Force" (sold cheaply by ve'nari), basically Maw invisibility pot. Then you get as near as you can and pop the pot.

So... I joined a group, didn't die. We beat the boss. I look at my loot messages and it says I lost 631 Stygia... I had died earlier, but that was an hour or so ago, and the other loot messages would indicate it was not from that death. WTF?

I have been using a left hand side shortcut. with this I can totally by pass all elites and get to the boss without aggroing anything. If you follow the main path into the beastwarrens until you get to /way 57.86 62.92. there is a slope to your left, you can go up that all the way to the top /way 60.16 59.19. jump off the ledge to the Blue ground below, follow that up to the edge /way 61.38 54.41. and jump down again to more Blue stuff go to /way 63.07 52.50. and you will be able to see the platform that Morgeth is on. you can then goblin glide from anywhere along that ledge edge to his platform. I find /way 62.98 46.22. best for hight.

When you kill the worldboss Mor'geth you also get 200 reputation with Death's Advance. If you have Darkmoon Faire buff that is even 10% more. Not to mention humans get more.

He has a hidden spell called Clear Threat 100yd, its cast when you open the chest under him. Dose no damage or combat its just seems to knock people out of stealth if they didn't pull the mobs around it after opening it.

As of 9.1.5 you can unlock a teleport to Desmotaeron (near Mor'geth and Sanctum of Domination raid) by purchasing Animaflow Stabilizer from the Maw quartermaster Ve'nari. It costs 1650Stygia and requires Tentative reputation. Tentative is the third Ve'nari reputation level, after Dubious and Apprehensive.

This item also provides transport to Perditions Hold (new as of 9.1.5), Beastwarrens and Tremaculum.

Edit- blue post just confirmed this teleport also requires the completion of Sanctum of Domination (on any difficulty) to show up

As of 9.1.5 it seems like killing this no longer counts towards Shaping Fate.... It previously gave 25% credit for that weekly quest

A bug occurs where the World Quest doesn't reward the player, but counts the kill. I'm looking at Mor'geth 1/1 slain on a fresh Warlock that has unlocked Korthia, Torghast, and multiple parts of the Maw via skips.

This hasn't been a problem with multiple alts, and the current alt (Warlock) was made after the 9.1.5 patch. Possibly related, or the actual trigger causing the problem wasn't fixed.

As per a support article about the specific issue, players are told to submit a bug report:

"Our developers have fixed the issue that was causing this problem. Please try again.

If you discover a new issue, please submit a new Bug Report. Bugs submitted in-game do not receive a personal response. Instead, they'll be directed to the teams responsible for addressing them."

To reiterate, I'm viewing credit for the kill. 1/1 Mor'geth, defeated in a group finder premade as many of us do on any given week, some of us on multiple alts. I received loot from the boss itself (Condensed Anima Spherule, ilevel 239), but the World Quest isn't completing.

Logging out, then logging back in has not fixed the issue.

Go to the Maw, assuming you unlocked the portal take the portal to Perdition hold and then click the portal you arrived at click Desmotaeron. Then you have arrived.

Is lootable with no progress on Chains of Dominatinon questline and no world quest present.

I received no anima.

I killed on a freshly dinged alt, I just made my legendary and glided over then died to spawn near Mor'geth. I had 0 progress on Chains of Domination and didn't have Mor'geth world quest. I tagged then died as I had the debuff Otherworldy Screeching as I had not completed quests to unlock this area but I looted 75g and a Shard of Rev.

Mob Free Walking Path

There are a couple of comments about how to slow fall or use a goblin glider to get to Mor'geth, but I prefer to bypass the mobs by just walking there.
Go to /way 58 63
Work your way up the ramps to /way 60 54.3 and jump north down to ramps below.
Go up to /way 62.3 49.5, jump down to a little light blue ledge at /way 62.2 49 and then jump down further to the light blue ramp below.
Go up ramp and then around corner and down to /way 62.5 46.4
Jump down to /way 62.4 47
Wait for Chained Bonesculpter group to get to top of stairs before you jump onto the stairs.
Go to rock at /way 64.5 44.6 and then follow ledge to /way 65 44.3
Jump down to stairs when Mawsworn Obliterator is out of the way below you.
Now you're near enough you can join a group which has usually killed the Avowed Soulbreaker on the stairs or Door of Shadows past him or simply run past him to the opposite side of Mor'geth's platform where he'll de-agro from you.

If you're wanting to kill Mor'geth, but are phased every single flippin' time you join a group, check if you are on the Chains of Domination questline with Thrall and Baroness Draka following you. Either complete those or drop them...voila!

Fought this guy for the first time today. Didn't last long as a Fury Warrior, got him to about 75% so tried as Prot even though I thought the damage output would be too low, turns out if you just ignore mechanics Prot will survive.

Solo, it took me 10 minutes 39 seconds. You can pretty much ignore all the adds and just rely on Revenge/Thunderclap cleave damage to take them out.

Soloable as an arms warrior ilvl 386, just make sure to keep Ignore Pain up and heal with Impending Victory as needed

Most importantly, however, when you go for the adds (though this may not be necessary at all) make sure you don't get too close to where they rest before being activated. I did go too close to the edge and the boss despawned.

Having a lot of issues with the Soul Cages being out of LOS, and not being able to be attacked as a result of that. This guy seems extraordinarily annoying to kill.
