As a freshly dinged 110 on Beta right now, this guy is pretty hard to solo. He casts Consume Magic, removing magic debuffs from himself and healing ~~a lot~~ over 10 sec. He does whether there are debuffs on him or not, it can't be interrupted, but the heal is a magic buff that can probably be cleansed.
If you can't cleanse him, only thing I'd advice is to wait for the HoT to end, use all your cd's (maybe helpful stuff like your bodyguard ability or Thornstalk Barbs) and hope you'll kill him or get him low enough before he uses the next heal.

As a skinner, he dropped Felhide Sample for me. Don't know if that was coincidence or if it's a 100% drop, but it might be worth it to kill him.

Update: Consume Magic can be cleansed indeed. It seems this guy can show up in any of the zones as part of a world quest if you have skinning, since he can only be skinned (and doesn't drop any normal loot), it's probably only worth it to kill him if you have that profession and the world quest is active.
Update2: He got a heavy nerf, Consume Magic only heals him for about 5% now (52k per tick, 260k overall). Still has 5m hp, so a fresh 110 might still have some trouble.

Just killled Felhide Gargantuan, was pretty hard but i had some awesome self heals as a druid. You can't skin, neither loot him.

This mob is a World Quest mob, which I believe can spawn in any map. I just killed it in Highmountain at loc 42.0 / 42.0. Which is located at the top of the "harpy run" right next to a rare named tauren shaman. So when you get world quests, make sure you check for the quest. It should be a brown circle like the other quests except it will have a small leatherworking icon on it.

Just killed him for the world quest on beta. He has apparently been nerfed, I had no problems at 110 as BM with Rexxar.

Just killed him. World Quest(WQ) in Highmountains. In order to get the WQ Item, you have to skin it, it will also drop Felhide Sample which in turn will provide you with a quest Felhide Sample

Sadly, this mob is immune to Enslave Demon - casting the spell gives the error message "Target can't be charmed". It can, however, be Banished.

Saw this mob for the first time on top of a mountain by a shaman rare. Decided I would want to worry about it since I was not level 110 and it was. Banished it and to my surprise it worked. Then went to enslave it after I unbanished it and to my surprise that also worked! This guy has about 6 mil hp when you buff him as Demo Lock and the artifact ability that unleashes damage based on pet health is FATTTTTTT!

Fly to The Witchwood, Highmountain FP. From there, run east to 43.9, 31.8. Path up the mountain starts there.

It's just a Theory: After u complete the Felhide quest as a Skinner u can weekly go to the places where he spawns and do the world quest even if the map doesnt say so. That world quest will give u some Felhide

Alright, for all the really confused people as to why this is not showing even after running into all the spawn points i HIGHLY-RECOMMEND downloading the legion-companion-app on the iPhone or Andriod and check the Map.

It shows exactly if the quest is up and which region its on as well..
A total life-saver till Blizz find a patch.

edit: warning, when you use the app, it will disconnect you from the game and close battle.net app as well before launching the mobile app.

There is an alternate location where he can be, on the beach around 58,21. For Horde players, you can either fly to Forsaken Foothold and walk along the coast east to the pointy tip on the map, or you can fly to Stormtorn Foothills and head to 59,30 where there is a path going downwards to the beach.

Fly into Witchwood and head north on the path to

/way 42.96 31.10 Turn right here

Turn right and go to

/way 44.75 35.23 Path to Felhide Gargantuan

Follow the path up. There are harpies and other fun NPCs along the way but you should be able to just ride past them.

The Felhide Gargantuan "shares" the location with Tenpak Flametotem. (Actually, Felhide pats around Tenpak's location.)

None of these directions were clear enough for me, took forever to find the right path. Try this without using coordinates.

Highmountain; The Witchwood FP, follow the main trail downhill until you pass under a fallen tree.
Turn right thru a wide opening between two fence sections.

Go through the puddle straight ahead and and then a slight uphill incline between two fallen trees.

Turn right and proceed until you see the lit torch, from here you can see the trail marked by guide ropes.

Today he is up in Stormheim, at 32.66, 56.02 - in a cave under the waterfall - nearest fp is Skyfire Triage Camp and then head downhill towards the bats

Finally after 15 minutes of searching I found the Stormheim Gargantuan. He is hiding behind the waterfall at 33.55.

If cant find it in Stormheim, go to 33.2 55.0 point, there you'll see a waterfall. There's a cave behind the waterfall, pass through and you'll find Felhide Gargantuan inside the cave.

Cave entrance is at bottom of waterfall south of the Skyfire Triage camp if you see the Felhide quest up around there. took me a good 5 minutes looking for it and it wasn't on this map. also don't know how to add a location but it's around 32.14, 55.54 in Stormheim.

This stupid fricken thing is broken. I have the world quest to get a felhide, but when I kill him I can't loot him I can't skin him or anything. I've tried logging in and out it doesn't work and I'm 212 Skinning. It shows up as an available World Quest but doesn't let me do anything once I kill him. Blizzard is really starting to piss me off with these bugs.

For people having an issue with skinning the one up north in Stormheim you have to go west up the beach til some cave. It will then activate the quest and you can go back for the kill (and skin). The cave is where a named mob is when you do the murloc-egg quest in the same area.

This world quest takes place in multiple locations so if you're posting information about finding the felhide gargantuan, it really helps if you list the coordinates for which location, including the zone you are referencing.

One such location is in southern Stormheim inside a cave at 62.5 75. I flew to Hafr Fjall in Stormheim then drove northeast to the mountain range and jumped off using my Rocfeather Skyhorn Kite to glide close to the cave entrance which is at the waterline down below. There is a rare behind the gargantuan inside the cave that can be avoided by pulling the felhide gargantuan towards the cave entrance.

Ok this beast is utterly confused as to her home and is in 15 different locations. I will try to post directions to all the locations and how to get there.

Aszuna

Location on map: 29.8 58.0. Closest Flight Point is Wardens Redoubt. Swim to location from Flight Point (Use Water Strider or Raft or get a Water Walking spell)

Location on map: 41.6 70.0. Closest Flight Point is Wardens Redoubt. Just run to the location.

There are more locations in Aszuna. Details will be provided as they come to hand.

Highmountain

Location on map: 43.78 25.23. Closest Flight Point: The Witchwood Run up to /way 45.06 25.4 then run up the path.

Location on map: 42.0 41.6 Closest Flight Point: The Witchwood. Run to /way 42.96, 31.10. Turn right and go to /way 44.75 35.23 Follow path up. Note the Gargantuan shares this location with Tenpak Flametotem. Two kills at the same time. (Thanks Bengarion)

Location on map: 47.8 72.5 Closest Flight Point: Thunder Totem. Head towards Snowblind Mesa and to /way 47.8 68.9. Take the left path from here up the mountain.

There are more locations in Highmountain. Details will be provided as they come to hand.

Stormheim

Location on map: 31.6 56.3. Closest Flight Point: Skyfire Triage Camp. Gargantuan is in a cave. Go downhill to the river then turn right. Entrance to the cave is behind the waterfall at /way 32.93 55.79.

Location on map: 58.6 21.0. Closest Flight Point is Forsaken Foothold. Run along the coast eastwards. OR fly to Stormtorn Foothills then run to /way 59 30 where there is a path going to the beach. (Thanks Samfisher)

Location on map: 63.6 74.6. Closest Flight Point is Hafr Fjall. Use a Goblin Glider and fly close to the location. Alternatively, fly to Valdisdall and run south along the river. Gargantuan is in a cave at /way 63.6 74.6

Suramar

Location on map: 36.37 30.25. Closest Flight Point is Irongrove Retreat. Straight forward run to location.

Location on map: 73.2 46.7. Closest Flight Point is Crimson Thicket. Run to the coast at Jandvik. Path up to Garguntuan is at /way 74.9 49.7

Val'sharah

Location on map: 34.92 62.01 Closest flight point is Bradensbrook. Just run eastwards. Gargantuan is on the top ledge and not on the shore.

Location on map: 46.2 42.5 Closest flight point is Bradensbrook. Just run to the location.

Location on map: 30 72 Closest Flight Point is Gloaming Reef. Just swim to the location

The one on Isle of the Watchers is ridiculous. Spawns right on top of an elite, which makes soloing an easily soloable WQ impossible.

There is a second one in Suarmar. It is located at 73.1,47.1. It is just to the northeast of Jandvik. The closest flight point is Crimson Thicket. The Felhide Gargantuan is sleeping on a ledge out in the open.

If he's hitting you too hard as a fresh ungeared Windwalker monk, do as much damage as you can and then freeze him with Paralysis. Then back off, heal, heal, wait for cooldowns, get good and ready, then finish him off.

Another Highmountain Location - 47,71.

From Thundertotem, take the walkway/path east out of Thundertotem (55'58 in Thundertotem), to the junction at 50,64 (that's 50'64 in Snowblind Mesa area, not Thundertotem).

Turn south and follow the path to 48,67 - Summitrest basecamp.

Turn left up the hill that becomes snow-covered and continue up right / left / right & he's on the right on the big rock. A lot easier to get to than some of the other locations.

Found this one the hard way on a lowly 104 DK, just had to see what the odd mob taking a cat nap was up to in highmountian @43.5, 24.4 as i lay here taking a death nap right next to him,,:) Curiosity killed my ca/ i mean my DK . Note to self to return one day with a bigger stick and even the score a tad :)

Can drop Felhide Sample when skinned, if the skinner does not have the Felhide Skinning skill..

NOTE : Does NOT drop any loot. This is a Skinning World Quest objective.The only loot received is from skinning.

It's unclear to me, do these guys only spawn for the world quest or is there always one up on at least one of the spawn sites?

I've only found two so far, both as WQs and I've done a lot of flying around!

Update: it's the following day and I just found one spawned that isn't a WQ but it's not-skinnable after killing.

The quest doesn't show up in my quest logs but I found the Felhide Gargantuan (34,61) in Val 'Sharah. After killing the mob it is un-targetable, un-lootable and un-skinnable. I have completed all the Felhide quests and maxed out skinning. I went back to dalaran to buy the to relearn skinning, then went back to the quest mob and still cannot target or skin. Opening a ticket with GM, will post an update.

Update: No reply from a GM but i unlearnt skinning, relearnt and bought the book again. This reset my LEGION skinning to 0. I farmed a few seals on the island (32,17) and got back to 100 legion skinning in 15 min. The world quest now shows up and i can now skin the Felhide Gargantuan.

- Make sure your LEGION skinning is at at least 25 (i went to 100 to be sure) for the quest to show up and him to be skinnable

i cant find the original post. but if u cant find your WQ make sure the character u are on has don't the Kadgar quest unite the isles then you can get the WQ and skin
