A crumb! A crumb for the pet enjoyers! Life is good.
Neither of the Old World pets - Byrn (Unique model as far as I can tell for battle pets..) and Moon Darter (Practically the Sprite Darter Hatchling model) - can battle. Webbers from the Northrend one though, can.
Northrend incl. 5 tamers.
I hope they change the once-per-day defeat for old-world trainers.
These Pet Battle achievements are such a menace. Having to beat every single master with every pet type is just ridiculous.... I never want to do that again. It takes forever, you need super specific pets/teams to even win reliably, and it ends up feeling less like a challenge and more like straight-up torture. Why did they make it that annoying?
They are sending out so many conflicting signals regarding pet battles.Just like left hand does not now what the right hand is doing.
Pretty annoying that it will take you at least 10 days.
YAY! thanks Bliz, my favorite thing to do with pets :)
There are a total of 29 tamers for these achievements - 5 in Northrend (not 6), and 12 each in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. It appears as though only Horde characters can get the quests for the Kalimdor tamers, and only Alliance for the Eastern Kingdom tamers. You can't battle a tamer without having the quest.I'm leveling my alt characters by battling all of the tamers in a region with a particular pet family each day. The experience rewards for pet battling are excellent - I gain 3+ character levels per circuit.I use the Rematch addon to select only pets of that family, then to choose pets that are strong against each of the tamer's pets. The latter isn't strictly necessary - You can win most of the battles by choosing the most powerful pets in a given family. For example, Iron Starlette and Darkmoon Tonk are strong mechanical pets against anything except elemental pets. But I like mixing it up, actually thinking about which abilities to use, and not having to heal my pets as often between battles.I strongly recommend Rematch for anyone who wants to get heavily into pet battling. It works great in the prepatch. You can avoid the need for healing by mixing up the pet family you use against each tamer, but managing which one to use each time would need tedious bookkeeping to make sure you complete all of the achievements. You could also just do a few each day, and take a month or more to complete them - That's likely the sane approach for players who have other things to do in WoW or their lives. :-)
Once per day? So stupid, dam blizzard
But how do I get the faction crabs in the banner? Asking for a friend.
This could be interesting if they go back and rework the tamers. But most of these are low level tamers are will be basically 1 shot by team of 25. It's more of a grind then anything engaging. This is just Blizzard's version of busy work - go back and re-battle low level tamers you have already battled for other achievements, but do it ten more times. Oh and we are going to time gate it so you can't do it all at once. This is what they call "content" these days.
These have always been the quests even pet battle collectors avoid. Bring back some real content Ion.
what would truly transform the battling part for me is a mobile game using my ingame roster. done right it could be an evergreen imo. great to fill time during commutes etc (who wants to scroll through news these days), and even better if including a pikmin bloom or pokemon go like feature involving real life walks.
