If its similar to DF I'd rather they removed it tbh.

Though, 87 of primary stat is basically nothing so it was basically dead on arrival idk why people (exc. RWF) wasted the gold on the unlim one (rather, why people bothered using it at all unlim or not)

Edit: This is coming from a Intellect user, because we have so much intellect 87 is literally nothing when you have over 18,000. Might be better for other stat types idk. (0.4% more int with augment rune)

But shall see how they do.

Can't wait for the reusable one to be sold at the low low price of 1,000,000 gold.

Here's to hoping in vain that they go back to a MUCH lower price for the permanent one. 100k was stupid.

Comment by Linaori

We need less consumables we have to keep track of, so I'm 100% for removing this.

Though, 87 of primary stat is only 300-400 dps when we're doing over 220k+ anyway, so it was basically dead on arrival idk why people wasted the gold on the unlim one (rather, why people bothered using it at all unlim or not)

Well watching the race to world last there was a handful of wipes in the 7 million or lower range (even a few at 2 million), if you take the 400 increase you say (which for me personally is like 1400 dps simmed so I'd say 400-600 is what most might actually gain in pure ST) and put that over 20 people that's 8000 dps increase over a 10 minute fight is roughly 5 million damage again just in ST not counting the add damage that would let you milk more out of the boss in P2 could've helped the kill happen.

Also many of these RWL guild being 400ish pulls makes the 1 bag slot very nice, plus Tindral being hundreds of pull and keys, I would say the rune price isn't bad. Especially if never introduced the prices of those runes were way more expensive so I think worth it, It should be introduced way sooner though.

Its a gold sink at the end of the day I do agree I wish it was a more worthwhile gold sink cause barely getting the values worth, season 4 will make it worth using if you were using it during all of S3 prog and now S4 raid reboot.

Edit: also yeah those teams were probably using them and they'd actually be further from a kill, but I'm speaking theoretically here cause if they didn't exist it'd be assumed the raid would be tuned not specifically around it but with it in mind. So if they were getting to those numbers without the runes they'd have a better chance of killing it. Though the permanent one should definitely give more than the temporary one if they keep it at a such high price (I know I know I'm wow broke so 100k is a lot), so you actually kinda feel the difference of 20 people using it or not.

Random drop chance from M+ Prayge

The one thing that really bothers me about this item is how it's obtained. Previously similar items like this were exclusive to tanks and healers if and when dungeon queues are looking for those roles. People that play pure DPS classes have no hope of getting them outside of the auction house.

If I'm wrong, please let me know. This item has been a thorn in my side for the longest time.

Bring back mission tables

The Augment runes have always made a very low difference, especially once the unlimited rune was introduced. They never were that huge boost, and I am pretty happy for it.

BUT they still were noticable, if the whole raid used them or not. In other expansions, when the unlimited rune was a lot cheaper and everybody got it because "why not" it certainly made a difference.

Comment by VinceVega

I hate these runes. Freaking expensive to get and annoying to farm.

The permanent rune is also annoying as you have to reapply it every try again and again...

Just make the permanent rune available from the start at max rep from one faction and not fall of at death please.
And the bonus is negliable in most circumstances until you wipe at 0,5% on a mythic boss....

Comment by Schattensang

Technically there are times when DPS can get the satchels. They are very rare. But yeah, this is the first expansion in which that dungeon/LFR satchel is the only way of getting the runes. Other expansions always had them available from the mission tables.

Because it's late into the expansions and stat budget is lower. Also even now 87 int is worth almost 6 ilvl on a piece(except weapons), and no one doing anything semi-competetive WOULDN'T pay 100k to perma buff a slot by 6 ilvls /shrug.
Also wowhead report on the EIGHTY % gold nerf from caches instead of making clickbaits like:
" M+ returns in War Within! "

It's good that augment runes are "rare" aka super common for low end players but rare for high end players who can't be bothered to fill an incentivized dungeon or raid queue. It helps extract gold from the high end to the low end, which keeps the economy healthy.

If they were "cheap" then that's just another way the high end has tricked blizzard into isolating them from the rest of the game world, and that's something that needs to stop.

Comment by Crusherix

I never use this item. Maybe if it gave 10x the stats i'd bother.

Comment by Hatsjekidee

As a DPS I legit didn't even know DF still had Augment Runes, until a couple weeks ago when the Dungeon finder had the chest reward for DPS and one of them dropped from it. There's already so many consumables (flasks, potions, buff food, whetstones/runes), can we just retire these?

Comment by Axxislex

at how expencive they were/will be due to rarity of sources, why bother?

Comment by elicie

Might not give that much mainstat but they are just GOLD and you need to farm nothing for them. Just buy them. It's a small bonus for people that want to spend money.
Average player doesnt need runes anyway, unless they are at 99% parse and trying to hit 100%, dunno. If they are not there are tons of ways to improve before using runes.

Comment by DeVeteran

Either a whole lot of broke bois in this thread that can't afford them or people that cba to have 1 tank and 1 healer char (even 2 in 1 you can have, a druid or paladin etc) to "farm" them from time to time, aka, when you see the notification for Call to Arms, you do a quick 5-10 minute dungeon and get some gold.

People that don't want to play the game yet want everything and anything for minimum effort... like the FB game that were the mission tables :|

Comment by LeucienWeavr

I'd rather see the <Low Primary Stat> augment get replaced with <1% Primary Stat>, because at least then it'll still have the same power value throughout the expansion.
