Specs considered underpowered are generally played less and tend to appear weaker than they are.

This happens as many performance-oriented players will tend to play the strongest spec or class, increasing the gap between top and bottom specs even further.

Position of specs for the 95th percentile might be skewed by alternative strategies and parse funneling. For that, we're including the chart showing all percentiles' results to paint a better picture for all specs.

Statistics displayed on Warcraft Logs use the highest difficulty available for each boss, so these rankings are for boss encounters with Hardmodes activated.

Really really bad unholy performance here with all the nerfsComment by PilotLangusteInteresting that Hunters, objectively baised on all their three specs are the worst dps class in the game (in the top end brackets). Warriors and Paladins are in a similar boat but at least they are still good/god like tanks and we all know what is going to happen with fury later on and retri probably the same. In my opinion Hunters could definetely need a bit of a buff. Especially considering that they are a purely dps class with very limited raid utility outside of some aggro management (misdirection) and maybe heal reduce (aimed shot) but non of it is mandatory for a succesful raid. I can understand if a druid dps (balance) isn't the strongest because of what a Druid brings to the table naturally, its always gonna be something that you want in your lineup. On top of that, the reason why SV Hunters are even somewhat competitve is the 4-3-4 Explosive Shot interaction, which as far as I know, isn't even classic like. So imagine that wouldn't excist. Hunters would be a meme class and thats pretty sad because for some reason I decided that I wanna main a Hunter in Wotlk classic. ^^

Those are early Phase statistics and naturally the charts will change a bit here and there with better gear but that doesn't change the fact that Hunter only has one viable specc until deep ICC and that specc is kinda only above average on cleave fights. I am not sure if a blind dps buff would be the right move but give Hunters some form of raid utility. Like a global Hit Buff like Boomies or Hunter's Mark gives global attack power and not just ranged attack power. A little something.
