ilvl 385 Primal Infused will convert into ilvl385 Normal Vault of the Incarnates tier appearances.

ilvl 395 Primal Empowered will convert into ilvl395 Heroic Vault of the Incarnates tier appearances.
You can also convert a ilvl385 Primal Infused piece, then upgrade it with an Untapped Forbidden Knowledge, giving access to both tier appearances with one Catalyst charge!

I guess i need to use item restoration to get my 395 stuff back, had no idea it turned to heroic look.

Comment by borupte

If you do this, it cannot be upgraded higher than the catch up gear is able to be upgraded.

What's the easiest way to collecting the LFR quality Tier pieces (for xmog)?

Comment by AndarviDH

The 385 should have converted into the LFR variant. It shouldn’t be significantly easier to unlock heroic and mythic appearances than it is LFR.

M+ 2 and 3 keys or doing lfr, I've been after a few pieces for weeks and it's like they don't exist.

the 1/3 items change into the LFR variant, so if you don't use any tokens and just upgrade them from level 1, you'll get all 3 appearances

OK?

If you don't do this, you also can't upgrade the catch up gear higher than ilvl 395. So I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here. What is the thing that somebody might expect that isn't happening when you convert the catch up gear to tier?

Hes saying it because if you waste a charge on this gear it cannt be upgraded to 415 like a mythic+ piece of gear can. So if you did your whole loadout on the primalist gear you cannot get 415 raid gear without doing the raid or vault.

At the risk of sounding dense... I still don't get it? The gear from the Forbidden Reach can only be updated to 395, correct? So whether it is turnt into a 395 raid item through this process or not... it still cannot be upgraded to above 395. So what does it changes, if only that it unlocks some transmog options? Thanks in advance for the reply, and sorry if I'm missing something here.

I've been doing this on every toon, when the season ends I assume the Catalyst deactivates and remaining charges disappear, so it seemed like best chance to get most gear. One thing I didn't expect was for 395 gear to be heroic when I first did it

1) Normal and heroic, not mythic. The only way to unlock mythic is to do the raid.

2) Why? It's a catch-up mechanic. Literally designed to "catch-up" toons or players that may have fallen behind. Or missed certain pieces because of bad luck.

Actually not true. If you upgrade m+ gear to 415 and convert, you unlock the mythic appearance.

They really just need to make all lower colors unlock when you get a tier piece.

What about the LFR appearances? I don't know how to get the LFR druid belt, it doesn't seem to drop anywhere.
Even if I did LFR, I can't need on any of the items for transmog :|

Mythic+ up to 3 transmog into LFR tints supposedly.

You can't convert 1/3 storm items to sets.
