So uh they nerf the bloodscale then make its raid next best garbage *wheels raid loot to the cliff side for disposal*

Comment by Apollomantis

They buff, then they nerf, then they buff again, and follow it with a nerf, I swear they have zero clues how to balance any of their games, miracle their still in business TBH.

Genuine question: what am I missing about the mana nerf? Getting 250 mana on a 2m 30s cooldown? That's literally .005% of mana back? Seems......... very worthless?

Comment by Mikhailov

was really looking forward to having obsidian claw again, rip that mana trinket

And it is. They nerfed mythic dungeon trinkets, so that raid ones are more desirable, for them to nerf raid trinkets again so that they're not desirable at all over again. It's a dumb cycle.

And just like that, the phial and scale are BiS again. GG.

Don't forget the caster trinket. A whole 3 seconds off an entire 3 minute CD. Along with 2k damage!

Comment by maca134

That healer trinket cant be right. 250 mana over 10 sec on a 2.5 min cd is utterly worthless.

Comment by Stahlitz

Alrighty, lets have a peek:

Buffing the Skolex trinket makes sense after nerfing Phial. They probably noticed that both Phial and Shadowgrasp Totem still are superior st dps trinkets, so theyre buffing the raid drop through the roof. With 20ppm+haste it will dish out fairly frequently, especially on haste-heavy specs like havoc dh.

Nerfing the Lihuvim trinket was a very obvious one, told you they will likely nuke it. The CDR portion on a short timer drastically favors short cooldown classes which may lead to balance issues. Same for the damaging channel, those type of effects usually scale with haste in both ways, reducing the cast time and increasing the tick rate, which may lead to further balance issues. Numbers seem reasonable, maybe they overreacted on the dps part.

For this particular reason they also nerfed the Halondrus trinket it seems. Besides not being a channel, these types of effects usually scale with haste as well, multiplying the healing and mana gains depending on your secondary destribution and external buffs. However, this trinket was overnuked af, leaving it in a totally useless state.

The change to Xymox trinket is probably the most reasonable one, thats finetuning at its best. Now it should deal slightly more dps and slightly less absorption compared to scale, and you can choose between both, depending on wether a decent mitigation every minute or a big chunk every two will do the trick. Or well, just play both and enjoy life.

They always were. Having a finite shield on a 3 second delay is next to worthless short of few niche situations.

Comment by dankmaymay88

88% nerf on the mana gain for the halondrus trinket, leaving it with 167 mana/minute, which makes it beyond useless. well thought out changes.

The changes to riftshard and intensity core are baffling. The shield is now tiny (unless it scales +100% per target, which that wording never does) and the core might as well not have an on use now.

That skolex trinket be looking juicy

I got a 252 Bells of the Endless Feast from the Timewalking quest on my Arms Warrior.
It's a 30-second debuff (refreshable) on the enemy and it takes anywhere from 1.5 - 2.5 mins to proc once for ~16,000 dmg.
Yes, as an Arms Warrior, but we're talking about in a raid setting with buffs and a Windfury Totem in my party.

Which means any phasing or extended mechanic where you have to get away from it means likely dropping the stacks.
If you kill the enemy before 100 stacks, you get nothing out of it.
If you're forced to priority swap to a new enemy, you get nothing out of it.

Previously it simmed very high because, in Blizzard's paraphrased words, it was "bugged" and stacking too quickly.
Since they've fixed it, you get roughly a stack every 1-2 seconds if you're *lucky* as the proc chance is RNG-based.
You *can* get more stacks if the enemy is moving with the debuff on them, but most fights typically don't want enemies being constantly moved around.
You certainly can't ask your raid tanks to run the boss(es) in circles so you get more procs.

Raidbots is also very misleading when it comes to this trinket:
A 252 Phial of Putrefaction + 246 Overwhelming Power Crystal (usually for AoE anyways) was my baseline for trinkets.
Raidbots showed a ~200 DPS increase when using 252 Bells + 252 Phial.
However, in the new raid, I was netting close to a ~150 DPS loss because the proc isn't reliable anymore.
I might as well of not even been wearing a trinket with an effect.
