Makes sense, but here comes the complaining that it's not fair that the hardest content is giving the highest reward (even though people can get it later through other means).

Comment by Petowner

Seems alright, they're being handled very similar to gear: Higher Content - Better gear.
Only concern is whether they'll innovate on conduits much through the expansion or if we'll just find ourselves grinding the same ones at higher ilvl in later patches.

Comment by Ristaina

Please let us be able to get the conduits we need from more than one type of content. I would hate to see critical ones locked behind mythic raiding for example.

They've said that's the plan before, and on top of that you can unlock and upgrade conduits through the maw

Comment by Ralph2449

Hmm yeah that would suck if they are from some later boss and your guild hasnt reached that yet, though keep in mind if you have most conduits you can farm the maw to level up RNG some conduit so with enough farming you can level everything to mythic ilvl, should.

You can get the same as mythic raid by doing normal/heroic raid, and then farm some currency and upgrade them. Mythic raiders would have the benefit of not having to upgrade them, which is fair imo.

What bothers me the most the difference between start ilvl of 100 and max ilvl of 330, meaning that we'll have the same situation as in BFA where you'll do 5-10x more DPS by the end of the expansion.
We'll probably need to have yet another ilvl/stat squish next expansion again.

Ye lets ignore m+ or pvp players.

Comment by TheStatman

This is total speculation, but it very well could be that every expansion from now on will have a level and stat squish. Assuming this squish works out relatively well, then say in 10.0.1 we could get squished back to 50, BFA would then join chromie time and Shadowlands would become the default leveling experience for new players after Exiles Reach (same or possibly updated to tie into SL). And all ilvl stuff gets squished back down too. Rinse and repeat for every expansion going forward, always leveling from 50 to 60 every expansion, rather than to 70, 80, 90, etc. again then having a huge squish in 10yrs.

So you are saying high keys and high pvp 2.5k+ cr is easier to be done than mythic raiding. Mythic raiding is such a joke compared to those 2, like literally there is a skill cap for raiding and (at least 5-6 people can be carried through) but for those other 2(m+ and pvp) difficulty is not capped and you say mythic raiding is the hardest content. Like come on bro :D

Mythic raiding is still the most prestigious activity in the game. There's not much you can do about that. Between winning a PvP tournament, winning MDI and getting raid world first, the world first is by far the one that more people care about and it doesn't even matter which one of those is actually the hardest mechanically. Snooker is a harder sport mechanically than football (or at the very least it's notably harder to pick up) but you don't see people getting as hyped about it and you don't see as great rewards in playing it.

Man stop qq this is a wowhead post of a theory not an official information from blizzard.

Is it possible to get conduits from the great vault? (i.e. higher ilvls than what you get from the end of m+ cache)

Really? Im sorry but Mythic Raiding will always be the top content in the game from a gaming standpoint. PvP and M+ are more fluid in that regard. I've always said PvP'ers and pve'ers should not be locked to the same type of gear because they are far different in terms of the type of game they are playing. PvP items should have stats that are useless in pve but awesome in PvP and PvE items should make sense in PvE but lose out to PvP gear in PvP situations.

Mythic+ is also not a good example as it is at best a side activity for people interested in gearing outside of raiding, but it should DEFINITELY NOT eclipse or surpass raiding in rewards. Raiding should always be the top PvE experience. With mythic difficulty being the highest and most challenging.

If you are only a m+ player maybe look into raiding. Its like M+ but no timer except your raid-leader's patience bar that will slowly decrease as the wipes increase.
If you dont have time for raiding you dont have time for the best rewards, that seems fair in an MMORPG.

Comment by Luckydutch

That's worse than essences then. You could get essences from lower content, it just usually took a bit longer. This means M+ or PvP players will HAVE TO raid to get the best conduits. It also means getting max conduits on alts is basically a no-go. Not sure how I feel about that.

If it was just like gear I could understand, but some conduits are literally like extra talents. Echoing Blessing for instance gives a speed boost when using Hand of Freedom and after it ends. It also gives damage reduction when using Blessing of Protection and Blessing of Sacrifice. At low ranks its worthless, but at higher ranks it becomes useful. So the paladin class capabilities will be dictated to the level of content the player can do. Meaning high level players Blessing of Sacrifice will give a much higher damage reduction over lower level players(instead of a flat 30% for every one)

Put this way, image the range of say warrior's Heroic Leap was limited to the level of content you can do. So low level players would only be able to leap 20 yards, while top level player get to leap 40 yards. Or better yet actual examples, with Divine Steed and the conduit Light's Barding. High level plays will have a Divine Steed last for a longer duration, giving them far better mobility over lower level players. Or Divine Shield and the conduit Divine Call, meaning high level player will be able to use Divine Shield far more often over low level players.

And there are plenty more examples

This is literally how stuff should work. The more effort you put and the more difficult task you complete, the higher reward you get. This is how things should be as long as high-end PVPers and M+ Dungeoneers get the same.

As with life, doing most basic job does not yield you the highest paygrade. People should NOT get best possible rewards by doing easiest conten, otherwise they have no incentive to try higher difficulty. Besides, if you don't climb the difficulty ladder then you don't need most powerful gear to accomplish your weekly tasks. Wanna feel powerful? Put an effort to it.

As an exclusively high m+ player, this is fine because they are upgradeable by other means.
