Ny'alotha Raid

Lor'themar: The Alliance has sent word. They have agreed to the armistice. This bitter war is finally over.
Baine: At last we can begin to heal our wounded Earth Mother... and the wounded Horde as well.
Lor'themar: One question remains. Who will serve as warchief? Perhaps, you, Thrall, would--
Thrall: No. I told Saurfang I would not lead the Horde again.
Thrall: But perhaps the question is not who will become warchief... but whether there should be one at all.
Lor'themar: Though the Horde has changed through the years--for good or ill--our people have always looked to a warchief to guide us forward.
Baine: That legacy must end. The war nearly cost us everything. There is no place for a warchief in a time of peace.
Thrall: It is true--the Horde has changed. Our ranks have grown, and new voices have stepped forth to lead.
Thrall: This is what makes us strong. All of us, building a new future--together.

Rokhan: Since da death of Vol'jin, da Darkspear been lookin' ta me ta guide dem.
Rokhan: I been fightin' for dem a long, long time... but dat don't mean I deserve ta be deir chieftain.
Baine: I felt much the same when my father died. It happened suddenly, and I feared that I was unprepared to take his place.
Baine: But I was ready, just as you are. You proved that in Zuldazar and at Stromgarde. The Darkspear have faith in you, and so do I.
Rokhan: Heh. Ya best be stoppin' da flattery, Baine, before it be goin' ta me head.
Rokhan: But... da Darkspear do be needin' a leader. A voice on da council. And if it gotta be me... den it be me.
Baine: Trust your judgment, Rokhan. It has led you this far.
Rokhan: It be havin' a lotta help. From da Darkspear, from da loa... and from da Horde.

Lor'themar: Thank you again for leading our forces in Nazjatar alongside me, Thalyssra. Your insight and courage were key to our victory.
First Arcanist: It was an honor, Lor'themar. I am relieved the war is finally over. Now you have no excuse to refuse my invitation to visit Suramar.
Lor'themar: Well, uh... I have been away from Silvermoon for some time. No doubt my people require--
First Arcanist: Halduron has assured me that Quel'Thalas is quite secure. And Rommath said that if you put up a fuss, he will teleport you to the Nighthold himself.
Lor'themar: It seems my closest allies are conspiring against me!
First Arcanist: Would it really take a conspiracy for you to spend time alone with me?
Lor'themar: No, my lady. It would be my pleasure.
First Arcanist: A suitably chivalrous answer, Regent Lord. There may be hope for you yet! Perhaps I can even teach you to relish the... simpler joys of life.
Lor'themar: Perhaps you can, First Arcanist. Perhaps you can.
First Arcanist: I will accept, if you will stand by my side, as counselor... and friend.

Rokhan my Boi! I hope for Talanji to become Warchief, but im also fine with another Troll' mon!

Comment by Lostelf

And so the Horde ceases to exist entirely.

Comment by TradeprinceKhan

Not sure how I feel about this.

Comment by Barbdreams

A council makes sense. Saw this coming, I'm totally okay with this.

And so the Horde ceases to exist entirely.

Bit over dramatic, isn't it?

If anything it means the Horde becomes far truer to itself than ever before. A faction of multiple leaders of multiple races all coming together out of necessity, banding together in arms! Multiple voices and view points all with their own voice.

The Horde, specifically Thrall's Horde, should have always been a council as opposed to having one head leader.

Comment by Wishblade

Can it truly be...? Do we finally have a Darkspear chieftain once again...!

Rokhan, I salute you!

Otherwise kinda what I expected would happen, going for a council instead.

Comment by TinyRaptor

This. This is what the Horde should always have been.
Many under one Banner.
I like this.

Comment by Aberrationmind

I am fine with this. A council of leaders, each from their respective race. So glad Rok'han is an important lore character, and not just a questgiver in Northrend anymore.

Comment by lukewhitehouse

it says "A voice on da council" dude

Why God, why? Thrall now has in perspective all his mistakes he can just say he learned from them! Jesus how I hate democracy in my medieval-type game, just like that dwarven council...

Comment by Wraide

So we got a "High King" shoehorned on us because they didn't want to write a faction that didn't have a single leader, and now this? Seems a bit contradictory. If we're getting rid of Warchiefs can we please get rid of the whole dumb High King thing please?

Yeah, I do agree with this. Thrall really needs to man up and just take the mantle again already instead of running from his responsibility.

Comment by Michaelryan767

When I saw the cutscene with them all celebrating at the table way back over a year ago, I took that as foreshadowing a council. Not to mention the obvious tease when Anduin asked Saurfang what kind of warchief would he be.

Magic assisted production/printing, actual regular industry, experiences and wisdoms collated over multiple world war-esque events. Formalized embassies as the factions transform into wider power-blocs.. I'd hardly say that Azeroth even qualifies as a medieval-type setting, nor have been for a very very LONG time.

Comment by Grumar

council has always made more sense....for the alliance, the funny part is they tried to make alliance more like horde with that "high king" BS that I think is still happening to this day with Anduin (don't know don't play alliance) but funny how each factions now has the complete opposite political system than they really should or as their name applies, alliance is dictatorship and horde is republic.

Considering Thrall spent years farming in Outland rather than deal with the Horde again and refused to even bother when Saurfang came to ask for aid, only doing anything when Sylvanas sent assassins, it's pretty obvious he's never gonna actually nut up and be a proper leader again.

Comment by Fixi

Although lots of peeps will feel its a rip on a popular show, I approve.

Comment by Tomtauren

This is the horde I was looking for, council, a group, not a warchief anymore, peace and strategy to prepare for something bigger thana simple alliance-horde war.

Comment by Maxi03

Blizzard screwing the horde and the trolls once again. Well not the first time, after all they like to tease players with fallouts like Theramoore, Teldrassil, Lordaeron and ZANDALAR while leaving the culprits to go away easily.

Comment by kartikeya

I'm not 100% sure how I personally feel about this, but I think in-universe this makes sense. Twice now a Horde Warchief has lead Horde towards something that ended up being not good for the Horde, so characters finally deciding such mantle is too much for one person alone isn't far fetched at all.
