CHANGE THE FURY WARRIOR ONE, PLEASE, SINGLE MINDED FURY SUCKS! :(
I am super excited for the enhanced skins of feral Druids...plus, who wouldn't wanna be a spectral or fiery kitty/bear?
Sniper Rifle looks like it would go great with the Demonstalker Black Recolor <3
So demon hunters will have a ranged weapon as well?
Artifacts Hype! Legion looks really promising.
Does this mean someone can actually go into the Karazhan crypts and find content :D? Sounds like the Afflic staff might be there
Can't wait to wield Ashbringer finally!
Hunters used to do some wicked melee dps back in the day, so no, they didn't steal it from another game, they're literally just putting Survival back to how it was meant to be in the first place.. :L
So far from reading all the comments, this seems to be the general feel. (in addition to my own opinions)..in no particular order.Balance Druids with....a scythe. a SCYTHE? theyre balancing day and night, NATURE. they arent reapers in ANY form. the skin looks super rad, but it seems so incredibly out of place its actually funny. give them a weapon with stars, clouds, suns and moons. a scythe is out of place here in any form.Shadow Priests. the dagger is underwhelming, lets face it. its a teeny tiny object with a creepy eye and nothing spectacular about it. if you have to go with a dagger, make it void energy. make it seethe and roil contemptuously. make voidlord hands a feature of it. you can do much better than a dagger, guys. Warriors: its hard to make a mundane class have epic weapons...or so they seem to think. warriors are pretty undane, next to shapeshifters, commanders of fel energy, and time-warpers. But theyre a core element in any fight, a paragon of immoveability. from denying enemies' assaults, to cleaving and carving, there should be some recognition of the perils and powers theyve faced and won over. especially as a "mundane" class. the lore is fairly decent for prot (do the stats change for gladiator, btw?) but where's the AXE love? keeping class weapons too close to their class is a folly! as a warrior, lore is supposed to have me as a master for *all* weaponry.....well, weaponry thats useful for close combat battles. so why is it just swords and shields? and dull looking ones at that? neltharion wasnt just rock..... before his corruption, he still held sway over ancient magics and fiery aspects of earth. it was once said in a book the cracks on his body were filled with precious stones. diamond is hard. wheres the magic-endowed diamond sword? give warriors cooler, less mundane weapons. give a 2h axe to arms, swords to fuy (they flow better than an axe would in dual-wielded combat) and buff up the overall awesomeness. The hunter weapon thing. this is just silly. some people like guns, and some people like bows. First of all, with the technological boom from WoD, even on an ancient, magical gun, youd think the ccuracy would be better = MM. with bows being more in tune with nature. less booming to scare your companion and target, with less emphasis on range. this just makes SENSE.That oversight aside, though, both specs are ranged damage dealers in one way or another, why not let them choose their favourite from among weapons that theoretically do the same thing? it doesnt hurt the lore, and it gives people options. options = good. The floating lock staff. i dont know if thats just a design angle thingy, but its WICKED. there needs to be more outside-the-box thinking like that. if it were an actual skull that didnt display in your hand but rather as a floating companion-type visual, maybe its eyes glow whenever you summon something or get a proc off a certain spell, that would be mind-blowingly incredible, as well as fitting to the lore. im talking Next-Level Stuff. Druid Forms; finally the thing we've all been waiting for! this isnt so mind blowing, because everyone knows its been needed for a long, LONG time. but good on you guys for finally getting around to it!Monk weapons, aside from WW ones, seem to be Expansion-locked. a dirty, unfortunate moniker i use to address pretty much everything monk-related. Monks originated from Pandaria, sure, but why does everything they come into contact with have to use the art styles from a place so structurally mundane? theres no majesty in wielding a bird-stick against the Legion. just because monks came from pandaland doesnt mean they should be stuck facing the legon without much more than sake-on-a-pole. a broken staff. a piece of machinery, armor, or even a chunk of a building could arguably be fashioned into and/or serve as a staff suitable for melee or casting combat. the lore is pretty hokey too, as i find it VERY difficult to think of Yu-Lon giving anything of power to a Hozen, no matter how "clever." it sounds akin to giving an aggressive toddler a few hand grenades, because it happened to be "clever." its absolutely ludicrous, sorry to say. and i mean, you have every ret paladin whipping around Ashbringer. every Prot warrior crushing things with pieces of an ancient dragon aspect. and monks get a staff wielded by shaohao - not decorated to the tune of a being that seperated a continent, created the Sha, or shrouded its continent in Mists/created the Timeless Isle. nooope, its glowy and clearcut. dull. expected. and a lantern on a cane. im sorry to criticize so much, but it has to be said. a lot of this is either incredible, or so within-the-box its hard to think the same minds came up with both groups. the limitations of having specs that use the same weapon locked into that one weapon when they really want to use something else is bad. things like casters having differing weapons doesnt really matter, because they dont physically play into how that class is supposed to fulfill its role, so long as the lore is soid. a mage with a sword performs the same as a mage with a dagger. but a warrior with a sword would fight a little differently with two axes, or two swords...similar to how the type of weapon changed a monk's animations. bringing a little reality into the situation makes the specs feel that much more defined. everyone will have their preferred weapon type, because that's how they identify their particular class. With that as a base, give freedom of choice to weapons that are functionally the same. i'd rather not mog over the newest, levels-with-you weapon-with-skins that im supposed to love with old stuff. just give a choice if they function the same, like the hunter weapons. All in all, i think its deifnitely headed the right direction. so long as they use the resources available to them - us - heavily and not just say "bah, screw it lets just go this way and release on time." Segueying into that final theme, remember to take your time, and be smart in promise-making. make us wait an extra month or two for a shiny product, we understand good things take time. don't make promises as actual promises; phrasing is all thats needed; "we have an idea of..." or "we're thinking maybe..." as opposed to "yeah yeah shattrath city and this ogre capital city and this and that and feature 12 and feature 29" that just dont make it in for one reason or another. you've got millions of people with you, on your side, and what we need is to get something good and have it take however long it needs to take.
These weapons look amazing, I play holy priest and the staff looks beautiful, but now I want to level a paladin alt for Ashbringer and that Prot shield!
Firey Ashbringer let me count the transmog ways... oh yeah and multiply that by the new Transmog 2.0 system:
does anyone else feel like there should be accompaning offhand for people use staves..fire mage has to worry bout finding a offhand casue his spec has a dagger as thier artifact..the tanks get sword and shield..why cant dagger have a offhand auto too
All weapons look amazing, can't wait for legion and hold an artifact.^^I hope there will be more skins at a later time in the expansion.
So let me get this straight, NO weapon drops at all in Legion? Just Artifact weapons? No mobs drop weapons at all? someone please confirm!
Is is just me or does it seem wierd that it has Ele SHammies using fist weapson sand Enh using maces?
I realize that weapon types are little more than aesthetic now, but it's still kind of sad to see nearly a dozen staffs and only a single axe or polearm and not a single wand. Between the Mage, Priest, and Warlock there are nine specs that could be wielding a wand, and seven of them are wielding staffs. They're all pretty (or at least have some nice variant options), but I'd liked to have seen more diversity in weapon types. :/
Im a tad dissapointed at no Titans Grip... BUT I do think the one handers upgraded models look cool for fury.Maybe a toggle to let us mog them into 2h as fury?
They really did a great job... especially with the Druid Artifact Weapon(s)! The druid forms they made are looking cool, I'm really excited, can't wait for the Legion :)
I'm glad they are bringing back the Ashbringer, this is going to be so awesome. I cannot wait to wield that epic sword around!
