I do not see any point to have such a system in wow yes the general idea is good but instead, we can have something similar to the old talent system. This is system is just a legion artifact wep system and not even cooler.
So what is the point? If say your BIS weapon would be a sword and 2nd place would be a mace. But this system gives maces better bonuses so now... Mace is your bis. And if it is time gated so that sword will be your bis for four weeks well then it would just feel like a grind and people would hoard weapons in their bank. And if the system is un-impactful with weak bonuses that you don't notice well then what is the point of it? Might as well trim the fat and not introduce it.Just because it is a system that blizzard did not make does not mean it is good.
I get it. We all miss artifacts.
totally agree, wow is an hack and slash or something like that. there is no room for creativity (minus cosmetic) for your character, and this borrowed power made me stop the game (and i cant be atached to my character if i have to make dozen of them).sorry for my bad english.
So if I spend a lot of time progressing with my two-hand sword, then get a two-hand axe, I'm screwed. With classic it's simply akin to leveling any old profession. Sure it's a time sink, but so is every profession. Here I'm now missing out on bonuses for that specific weapon type which if given the current loot situation in WoW, might be elongated. This only works to give the player such a negative feeling in response. That feeling would also be amplified knowing that there would be players who are worse than they are at the same spec, yet simply have more time to grind such a thing out. Now of course this scenario will always be present in a game such as WoW, but the extremity of said scenario is something that can be 'controlled'.While the system is of course inspired by artifacts as mentioned, the concept is so uninspired as compared to its potential predecessor (based solely on this image). Simply put, the concept is soul-binds/conduits in a weapon, and as it stands right now I don't know anyone who has been loving that system.
NO THANKS.This is a rehash of a very old, very impractical idea we've put up with all the way through WotLK.I still remember getting an amazing 232 mace, and the DUH moment when I realized my warrior has 1/400 in that weapon.I had to buy crap gray mace in starter zone, go to Sholozar Basin, and leave my toon there for several hours, autoattacking one of them whelp eggs. That's what IN PRACTICE 'attacking equal opponents' meant - annoyance on par with failing a Torghast run, and we know what Ion thinks of that crap now.
Legion is back.
Why hasn't Blizzard hired this guy yet?
The reason I thought people complained about these grinds is because everyone knows they're temporary and won't matter when the expansion is over. If Blizzard could get bold again and introduce some permanent systems then I don't think people would complain.
I must say I don't know why this guy gets so much attention in Wowhead articles. He's had some cool ideas in his art, but its quality is pretty middling to bad as far as WoW fanart goes. Hardly even comparable to the quality of artists working for Blizzard.A cool idea to reference weapon skills, but I agree with what others said, it would be absolutely hated if made by Blizzard. I don't mean to %^&* on the guy, but it's only because everything he does is shared on the Wowhead blog for some reason.
