Midnight Deep Dive LiveblogThe Story So Far...

Metzen sets the stage recapping the events of the War Within leading to Midnight, a darker chapter in the Worldsoul Saga!

Xal'atath returns to Azeroth leading her army known as the Devouring Host intent on snuffing out the light of the Sunwell plunging the world into a consuming darkness. Heroes will be set on a collision course to confront this threat and save Azeroth.

Midnight Story & Zones

Players will start their journey defending Quel'Thalas following the immediate aftermath of Xal'atath's invasion where the Sunwell surges with Light seeking the aid of all Heroes of Azeroth against the assault of the creatures of the Void. For if the Sunwell falls, so too does Azeroth.

A renewed Silvermoon city will serve as the hub for players and the last bastion in defense of the Sunwell. Expect familiar landmarks but also entire new areas to explore as both Alliance and Horde are drawn into uneasy cooperation.

However, the real fight against the void takes shape outside the walls of Silvermoon where the Sunwell has infused the surrounding Eversong Woods with restorative energies healing the scars of previous wars.

The surging energies of the Sunwell have had some unforeseen complications causing rampant Lightbloom to flourish that threatens to smother the zone in an overgrown tangle.

Beyond Eversong Woods, players will be able to choose any of the remaining 3 zones in any order to continue their leveling journey; Zul'Aman, Harandar, or Voidstorm.

The once thriving Amani Troll Empire is a shadow of its former glory. Where Loa once bestowed blessing upon the Amani, now their temples lie weather-beaten and in ruin. Follow the granddaughter of Zul'Jin as she seeks to save the Amani from the grasp of the void cultists. Potential future Allied Race?

At the confluence of the World Tree's roots, lies a primordial jungle known as Harandar. At the center of this organic fabric and growth, lies the pulsing heart known as the Cradle once the domain of a nascent goddess now the home of the reclusive Haranir people. Xal'atath's destruction plunges even the furthest depths and the Haranir can avoid confrontation no longer.

Beyond just zones, players can fight against Xal'atath's machinations by journeying alongside Arator across continents in hopes of bolstering the defense of the Sunwell. Seek mysterious artifacts and uncover the mysteries of the void as Arator grapples with the legacy of his family and relationship with the light on his path as an aspiring Paladin.

At the epicenter of Xal'atath's power, Voidstorm overflows with shadow and violence. With the aid of the void elves, confront insatiable void creatures and investigate three nexus points that fuel the malicious dark energy Xal'atath has unleashed upon Azeroth.

A new narrative hub known as the Arcantina will offer warm respite to weary adventurers. As a crossway for all, seek out familiar faces as a source of quests that provide new adventures in old locations.

Delves & Dungeons

Plunge beneath the surface of Midnight alongside Valeera Sanguinar as you explore 9 new Delves and a seasonal Nemesis Delve. Drop directly into the heart of conflict surrounding the Sunwell in the outdoor Parhelion Plaza delve as you seek to restore defenses and thwart the void assault.

Haunting the shores of Eversong Woods, Windrunner Spire once stood as a living embodiment of family and legacy. But now the animosity amongst the 3 sisters has stirred up restless spirits and countless dangers that seek dominion over the now dilapidated dungeon halls. Quell the haunting unrest and confront undead forces with the help of Lirath, the lesser known sole Windrunner brother.

Explore all 8 dungeons awaiting in Midnight, each teeming with the cutthroat and the craven.

Raids

In the Voidspire, 6 bosses amass their forces against the vanguard of the light who seek to storm the stronghold of Xal'atath's power.

Join in the hunt for an undreamt god and unspeakable abominations in the Dreamrift.

The March on Quel'Danas follows the events of the Voidspire in an encounter shrouded in mystery as a void-corrupted phoenix acts as sentinel to the chambers beyond.

Devourer Demon Hunter

The void threatens all of existence, but does offer immense power and opportunity to those bold enough to embrace it.

Demon Hunters gain the new Devourer specialization seeking to bend the void to their indomitable will. Armed with a summonable void scythe, Devourers are mid-range damage dealers that dart in and out of the fray to deliver controlled and chaotic shadowy attacks while ripping void fragments from their enemies.

Transform in a familiar yet newly void-infused state of cursed power with Metamorphosis where the more you feed the form the longer it lasts.

Void Elves have sharpened their warglaives, and are now available to play as Demon Hunters in Midnight.

Haranir Allied Race

No longer able to remain reclusive when faced with the horrors of Xal'atath's invasion, the Haranir join the fight as the newest playable allied race in Midnight.

Deeply entwined in the primordial, their armaments and even bodies are infused with the inner light of organic life. This deep connection with nature is reflected in not only their appearance but their racial abilties as well.

Primal and ferocious the Haranir can choose from a variety of classes including the Druid with exclusive shapeshift forms.

Prey System

Run out of Silvermoon City by Astalor Bloodsworn, the Prey initiative is an opt-in secret initiative that seeks out Anguish, a powerful magic that can only be obtained from Azeroth's deadliest threats.

For heroes courageous enough to obtain it from menacing target, he'll offer generous compensation from mounts, titles, transmog, and even housing items.

With 3 difficulties (Normal, Hard, and Nightmare), you'll be able to find the perfect challenge no matter your skill level.

Prey can ambush you at anytime, and you'll need to fend off their attacks to gain an advantage to find their hideout. Higher difficulties cause you to incur deadly torments or even require you to complete a kill within a certain time limit.

Prey targets vary significantly but have one thing in common; they're deadly and will require your best to defeat them.

Housing

Azeroth is more than a world, more than a landscape for all your adventures, and more than a story, it's home.

Housing allows players to carve out a little piece of Azeroth you can call your own with boundless self expression and customization in a sandbox that encapsulates over 20 years of WoW.

Build your collection of housing rewards from various milestones and achievements. Earn decor through dungeons, raids, reputation vendors, quests, housing endeavors, holidays, professions, and more.

Control the finer details of decorating with a comprehensive dying system, scaling, and tweak the various floor plans for some truly fantastical configurations.

Exteriors can also be fully customized. Though they might not reflect the inner architecture exactly, you'll be able to choose from exterior themes based on Orcs, Humans, Blood Elves, and Night Elves at Midnight's launch.

Every house exists within a shared zone known as a Neighborhood where you can build community and participate in challenges to earn housing rewards. Neighborhoods exists in a variety of biomes from spooky forests to lush oases.

Neighborhoods are faction-coded aesthetically but not faction exclusive in residency. Choose between private or public neighborhoods. Private neighborhoods come in two varieties; Guild neighborhoods scale to fit your entire guild, while chartered neighborhoods are capped at 50 homes.

Participate in monthly neighborhood-wide activities known as Endeavors that allow your community to contribute to tasks and challenges that help your neighborhood evolve and give you access to exclusive decor.

Player housing will be available early for players who have purchased Midnight starting in early December 2025.

This is one of the best presentations they have ever done. I love the format. Great to see Metzen pop in, and its a huge improvement to have a professional announcer cover all the material. It was engaging and not boring. And I saw some great views that have me excited for Midnight. Big W overall.
