For me personally the biggest issue with healing right now is that the balance of responsibilities just doesn't seem fair.If the healer screws up once the key is so much more likely to be depleted compared to one or two dps just playing lackluster and doing the bare minimum of damage while ignoring half of the non one shot mechanics. If you then add the frustration of focus healing situations like the Rockbound Pelters in Neltharion's Lair and various bosses, I start to question why I should bother with filling the role of a healer.

One thing I'm paying more attention to now for vault capping is enchants. Maybe the best players in the world could heal a M+16 and higher without enchants at only a 416 item level, but the healers I've seen are not the best players in the world. If I see someone with 3+ missing enchants or empty gem slots I'm going to see myself out. Had two healers in a row with between 5 and then ALL enchants missing. This is not OK end game behavior. As someone with 440 ilev(not impressive but I see FAR lower in 17 keys) I have all my enchants/gems participate as much as possible with the affixes and can't get invited to an 18. Going to focus on pushing my own 17. Timing others 17s, then being declided from 18s is starting to get old. Time to scrutinize folks talents and gear as much as they have done to me for 18s and should have done to others for 17s.
I'm not a healer but I feel like it's better for healers to have stuff to heal most of the time rather than dpsing most of the time. Also I see a lot of comments here mentioning pugs and I'll say that nothing in this game should ever be balanced around or made with pugging in mind. If you want to screw yourself over by pugging and you don't want to make an effort to play high end content with premade groups you are welcome to do that but you shouldn't complain when it doesn't work most of the time. It's an mmo, it should encourage you to find people you can consistently play with. For lobby solo game experience try League or something like that
S1 Tettles was complaining about no healer keys and healers being a cosmetic role, problems that werent even a real problem. Now he is whining about too much healing being required. Typical whining fitting a boomie main
Please give solo queue in mythic+ I cant be bothered with LFG tool anymore
Please.. healers have so easy job, if they are alive and press their CDs it's fine, there are groups that are pushing 20+ and higher without healers for a reason, when healer dies not once it was possible to continue fight without healer, what is this post even about...
The problem I think is less with actual healing spells are more with how many people think all the affixes are a “healing problem”. Or players who stand in !@#$ and say it’s a healing problem. The afflicted affix unfortunately is more of a healer issue, although luckily we have a monk tank in our group who helped. But if any groups made healers deal with incorporeal this week when most classes have stuns to handle them, you are terrible people. Not to mention that others like bursting are a joke to priests who can mass dispel, but the other classes struggle with high stacks.
Theun hit the nail on the head with his take. It's spot healing that's the biggest issue. I noticed in my keys that what would often happen would be that someone would get hit by some ability, get chunked down to 20% of their health while everyone else was 90%+ and the healer didn't seem to do anything to them. Then 3 seconds later, that player gets hit by another ability that would do 70% of their health and they die. It's like watching a car crash in slow motion. I thought maybe it's a problem with the healer (evoker) as they weren't having any issues at all with mana, so I looked a the wowhead healing guide and there were basically no spells for evokers to use for spot healing. They don't seem to have a mana expensive, no cooldown spammable healing spell. For the classes that do have spells like that (Flash Heal), my guess is that they don't heal anywhere near enough anymore to make a difference as I've noticed this same issue with other classes.
All I see in the opinion difference is people that do premades and they dont care about the rest of 99% of people. I am sick and tired of not being taken because I am not a Shadow Priest or a Feral. I am sick and tired of not having the mobility of a mage while having the tankiness of one. Supposedly, tankiness is what we got compensating for not having mobility. Soul link is a joke with or without Profane Bargain. I have never ran out of healthstones so often so fast before even when I was low geared in the beginning of season 1 in DF. Before this was the case only for above 20s on Fortified weeks on trash or Tyrannical if the boss had unavoidable damage. Now its, COME ON HEAL ME HEALTHSTONE MY HEALTHPOT IS ON CD. Surprise.....healthstone is on cd, too.....now I die. I dont even have fun anymore on my Fistweaving Monk. In VP, on the first platform I have to heal normally, ignoring my fistweaving build and run out of mana often and fast because of those damned pisses of poop mobs with their aoe every 5 seconds. Also, yes......I have both tier set bonuses on my Monk. I still run out of mana. "Weeding out the bad healers from the good". Dude, how much of an elitist can you be. There are so few healers nowadays that you wait an hour or more to create a full group only to have it disband on the first full wipe when the run can be timed and then you go back into the loop and wait another hour or more. What makes it more ridiculous is that they still treat keys at 20 and below as if it is the only 20 where you get nothing better than you would get at 15. Have people gone mad? This is how you make players lose interest in m+.
