I don't usually jump in to these convos but this season has been really annoying to heal. As someone who mostly pugs, and not even particularly high keys - lower M+ should be about fun. If folks want to push high keys and like the challenge well, that is what the scaling is for. For those of us who are trying to hang out and play games, not be crazy stressed for 30min - the changes this season are terrible. Last season, my maintenance heals were solid for most runs and I could do a bit of damage, save the dps that had a melee brain moment, and heal big for the big mechanics or pulls - this season it feels like even relatively 'safe' pulls have me spamming everything I have to keep players up.Its not about good healers vs bad ones, or even reactive vs proactive - because if the mechanics are so punishing that a couple DPS getting clipped mean you're popping CDs to keep them and the tank alive on a trash pull thats an everyone problem, making it a dungeon problem.
Oh and this whole article is about the #1 M+ ranked healer in NA complaining that M+ is hard to heal. Really? At that level it better be hard.
Remember when you queued for a random heroic dungeon as a tank it was an instant que? I remember. Now its minimum of 5min up to 15min easy because guess what, no healers. That says a lot on its own. What smart comments you have for the community not wanting to play a healer role? Its your personal opinion vs facts. Cant wait for: "Oh, its heroic dungeon, nobody does those!" That has never been an issue. I've never waited in que 15min+, not even 5min as a tank. Taking someone like Jbs opinion seriously is like going to work and getting yelled at by a Karen. Screaming to you why aren't you perfect at this job on day one. Elitisms vs pug, two different things. Overall spot healing is weak. If in S1 as a healer on for example a +24, seeing someone die means I wasted time on walking or/and positioning instead of healing, now its not like that. Spamming someone with heals doesn't mean they will live. You cant do much about it. And I feel like this is a thing on a simple +21 not a +25. And don't give me that bs about "Well you play with *!@# people who cant use defensives" Yes, love, thats the general community right now so it all falls down to healer. And if I cant heal stupid, I shouldn't do high keys? If I don't play in a premade group, I shouldn't play? Is that the logic of this game now? And what you think will happen when all these people, which is a large amount of the player base, leave? My friend rerolled healer because I got sick of healing and he quit the game week later. Hows that? Most dps already have inflated scores and thats a healers problem because they have to heal stupid. 3k means nothing if you're a dps and I love these comments who probably come from either a dps or a premade healer. Every coin has two sides. Are you open to a discussion or you have to rage your own opinion out and tell every healer player to stop being @#$%? There is a problem and new nerfs show that. Its Blizzard statistics vs your personal elitist tears.
Healers aren’t only failing the healer checks, dps are also not using defensives and support, and many tanks are just bad at their role.In most sub-20 keys, you’ll rarely see a DH drop darkness, DK use AMS, warrior use shout, ret use Sac or BoP off bleeds… instead they only hit their dps buttons and at the end of a run they don’t look a deaths, dispels, CC, buff uptime… they focus on damage done. It isn’t a dps only thing - the number of prot paladins using sac, BoP, or off healing is near zero at the below 20 key level - and is rare even at the above 20 key level because tanking is very overly forgiving right now. Tanking being over forgiving is obvious by the mass number of re-rolls I have seen last patch and this patch. This is a player issue. Many players are just not good at the game and now dungeons are less forgiving - especially on healers. In the past, healers could over compensate for a bad dps, now they cannot unless they outskill that key level/group and are carrying the team. People aren’t used to a key being bricked by 1 bad team member, but every role should matter and determine if you time - including healers.
Both are viable. The issue is that you shouldn't be forced to avoid a pack because it deletes players. The only reason you should optimize a route is for the amount of mobs and what kind of group you have. Not because a pack deletes players. Yes, you should solve the problem you have instead of waiting Blizzard to solve it. It is pragmatic that way but that, again, does not fix the problem. You just pretend it does not exist.you do realize that the exact reason to optimize a route is to skip mobs that " delete players" right? most groups skip the snail racers in NL to go out of their way to pull the basilisks. In VP you either skip the second dragon or pull extra to skip the last pack which is a pain. In underrot people skip and go around mobs to avoid certain ones. that has been some of the basics of pushing keys since the beginning. using " skips" invisibility pots, rogue shroud and such.
