So no reward worth having. got it.
Ew. No.
Absolutely loved Faerin, total Gigastacy from start to finish. I just wish Danath hadn't stopped her from killing that dumb Karen.
good to see a universally loved and totally awesome character get some more screentime
I'm okay with this. Finally the agitators and antagonists are all humans. Real tired of seeing the Horde being the villains every time. (I do not play Horde, I hate their storylines because it feels like my character has to put on the biggest set of blinders on earth to follow anyone's orders and NOT see what's going on). Also nice to see them acknowledge the whole "a truce doesn't mean everybody's happy and content immediately" thing, which is what a lot of people whining about truces and cease-fires in this game don't seem to get. Hopefully they can be slightly less ham-fisted about it moving forward, but I'm fine with this.
Still feels offbrand and forced.
Ah good, the deranged racists are back and undergoing a rebranding too. We needed more repetitive fodder.
In Cata Joseph helped the Alliance fight the Scarlet Crusade. He even allied with the Arathi to do so.Am I missing something here?
Can we talk about Ar'gorok still being around? Because if thats the case just give arathi highlands to the horde and save us the pain and suffering of dealing with blizzard screwing the arathi over after over 20 years. What was the point of the warfront, if the alliance was going to not kick the horde out and leave hammerfall alone allegedly, and the horde got to get back their warfront base, meaning the alliance LOST land in a fight they won
The devs just clock in every day looking for more ways to *!@# on the Alliance lol. Does the Horde occupying half the lands after a decisive Alliance victory not seem realistic to players? Do the Arathi seem too sympathetic? Easy! Just manipulate the audience by turning the suffering populace into ass pulled anti-Dwarf insane psycho racists!
The Defias, Scarlets and Syndicates deserve better writing, not being lumped together into a throwaway faction like some cheap schmucks. It would make perfect sense if The Syndicate alone was covertly responsible for these false-flag operations, without the Red Dawn nonsense. They were conniving opportunists, already had a presence in Arathi, and would profit from the war by attacking both factions while they're weakened to steal the entire region for themselves. Adding The Defias and Scarlets to the mix feels very forced, and fails to flesh out any of them. I get that this story is supposed to be about overcoming racism, but it would be much better if it focused on Eitrigg and Danath reigniting their old hatreds in light of recent acts of violence, only to find out they were both manipulated by Syndicate profiteers, who knew them both well and exploited their deep prejudices for their own ends. Both leaders would be ashamed of how easily they regressed to hatred and violence, with the player character and Faerin acting as mediators, investigators and voices of reason to stop the war at the last moment.I see the questline concluding with Eitrigg and Danath combining forces to defeat the scheming Syndicate ringleader, in the same Stromgarde Keep room where players defeated Lord Falconcrest many years ago. Wounded and dying, the Syndicate boss laughs and says: "You can get rid of us, but the hatred you feel will NEVER be gone. We watched you from the shadows, seeing you squabble over grass and rubble for YEARS. How little it took to make you go for each other's throats again... the dogs may be old, but they're still rabid...". Both leaders are silent for a while, reflecting upon these words. Then, Eitrigg slowly comes towards him with his axe, and Danath gives him a nod. "Since I am a dog... BEWARE MY FANGS!" shouts Eitrigg, decapitating the Syndicate boss and ridding Arathi of their presence once and for all. They reconcile, bond, and promise a lasting peace between their factions. Eitrigg thanks Faerin for the investigation and leaves, while Faerin talks to Danath about the wall.Faerin: This is not how I expected my first visit outside Khaz Algar to go.Danath: I'm sorry Stromgarde was not what you expected.Faerin: You were right. I was... naive.Danath: No, Faerin. I was wrong.Faerin: Wrong? How?Danath: I said Thoradin's Wall was just a wall.Danath: But what it represents does exist--in you.Faerin: I don't see...Danath: A wall is built to protect. But it also needs a gate, connecting both sides. Otherwise, nothing will ever change.Danath: You saved my life. You brought us together. And reminded me of my true mission.Danath: You look to the past. But you are our future. And I am glad of that.Faerin: Perhaps... this Syndicate plot served a purpose after all. They sought to divide us...Faerin: And yet, I'm closer to you than I've ever been, and our people are safe. The whole Arathi is.Danath: Hmm. I hope you're right.
This feels like shadowlands levels of writing.
Oh look! They broke out the Scarlet Crusade once again to act as the easily beatable villains in a side storyline. What else is new? The Scarlet Crusade is basically the Team Rocket of WoW.
Why is it when they remember how racist humans are on Azeroth, they just go "Uh uh uh it was the Scarlets!"I mean the story's nice, I like having any excuse to kill humans in this game, but like... why is it always the Scarlets? The Stormwind House of Nobles are right there.
