In games with player housing, I know people who are interior decorators and they make a lot of in-game cash, I think more so than the people who game the AH.

This isn't the issue you commenters think it is. Path of Exile has this exact system for hideouts. While you do have a few popular meme layouts, I rarely come across the same hideout outside of the meme ones.

This absolutely makes my day. I'm one of those that when faced with a "sandbox", I get overwhelmed and don't know where to start, and I feel my "creative chops", as the article put it, aren't strong enough to really produce something that makes me happy. Being able to import other players' layouts and then make them my own just made me ten times more excited for housing.
