Compared to Legion at least... that ending was HORRIBLE. Also, is it too much to ask for the bad guy to win?
This game deserves better fans. 7 pages of negative comments. The video was fine; I always knew Focusing Iris was the best Essence.
Well, this left me empty..
I was really looking forward to exploring the city in an expansion and now it's been blown up in a raid.
I may have missed something... But wasn't Xalatath part of N'zoth's plan when he freed her and decided to keep the blade for himself ? I don't even know how Sylvanas got the dagger in the first hand. I can't imagine for a single moment that N'zoth just lost it somewhere and didn't think about it. And then, as somebody else pointed out, old gods are not supposed to be killed because it would cause harm to Azeroth herself. That's why the Titans decided to imprison them after what happenned because of Y'shaarj's death. As cool and epic that Wrathion cinematic was, the whole ending doesn't make sense. I'm disappointed but also confused. That's not the Blizzard way of dealing with the end of an expansion. I can understand that 8.3.5 got cut for some reason in order to focalize on Shadowlands, but cutting something as important as a final cinematic is a bad move, especially when it goes against multiple lore problems... It's a huge letdown, and instead of asking ourselves what awaits us now (as many cinematics usually do), we're sticking here, crossing fingers so Shadowlands will not have the same treatment. I personnally have been waiting for Azshara and N'zoth for years now, and even if I wanted more than what they delivered with the 8.2 cinematic, I knew it was just setting things for a REAL final, a shiny big moment to properly end the expansion and that narrative arc. And now... this...They'd better have something in store for the near future, because from what I explained above, N'zoth should NOT be dead and certainly not killed this way, with a dagger that was part of his plan. But yet, even if I was right believing so, I can hardly imagine how they could potentially make him come back later (for a void lord expansion for example). Unless he's not truly dead and that all of this is part of his plan, but that would be strange for him to feint his own defeat when he was so close to win.And as Perculia said, there are still many plot holes and no bridge between now and the next expansion. Knowing there's no 8.3.5 planned, I really don't know what to think about it... Kinda feels like they threw this expansion away because of all the issues we faced since the very beginning of it.
Lame ending, to a lame expansion and to something that's been built up so much of the years only to be thrown in the garbage-bin, the Old Gods and the Black-Empire deserved to be their own expansion with all the backlore materia they've got floating around, the Sword of Sargeras is also still stuck into Silithus funnily enough too, so nothing realy feels concluded even with a silly laser-beam from the McGuffin, it just feels undeserved~

Imagine if at the end of WoD, instead of Archimonde stepping through that portal, it was Sargeras. Imagine if we killed Sargeras right there and the Legion was defeated without ever getting their own expansion.Yeah that about sums up how ridiculous this ending feels.
My word, you people are whiny
Time to sell new books that explain the BFA ending, pre-patch of SL, and SL start of story. Woohoo all aboard the hype train! How to milk a fan base 101.Kudos Blizz, ermm.. i meant Activision
I think the idea is good, but..yeah, I was waiting for an epic cut scene. They could have tried the demon hunter intro way, to put us in the cinematic. But I loved the sauron references haha. The eye twitching, the tower imploding.
Treating the player to a single-player experience were lore characters just can't wait to blow smoke up your ass has been deeply, deeply unsatisfying. World of Warcraft was great when you were a lowly picker-pooper-upper but you could invent your own story about who your character was, what motivated them, what they fought for, what they hated, etc. Blizzard now railroads you through it with this 'Champion of Champions' nonsense. I miss when Warcraft was an adventure, not a power fantasy.
Why can't I find the cinematic on YouTube on the WoW page? It was there an hour ago
Thats really underwhelming, especially considering its N'ZOTH we're talking about here. Should have gotten a Gul'dan style send off at the very least, if not better. This is more like... WoD archimonde kill cutscene. Fitting, as both wod and bfa are very, very sad.Edit: rewatched the archimonde kill, its a masterpiece compared to this.
Disappointing, but this cinematic did make me notice how much Magni has grown on me. Surprising, really, because I think he's an awful character -- but MOTHER goes some way to making him more tolerable, perhaps.I wonder if he'll ever show up again, or if he'll do a Khadgar.
This is absolute bulls**** thanks activison for wasting one of the best characters with so much potential and going so far as to half ass the result with a janky ingame cutscene instead of a full cinematic words can't describe how mad I am about this! (this is proudly featured in the weekly resets sh*t show!)
This is for all those people that wanted 'frequent content'. This 'rush' to meet the 2-year lifetime of expansions will kill the game, I dunno when. Major lore characters not getting 'fitting ending cinematics'. Man even Argus' end is very high in comparison, Sargeras stabbing the planet, and getting trapped and all...
