I would like to have the option to limit region based content. Simply put; If I cannot get the item/promotion/whatever because I am in a different region of the world. I don't care to see it. That is it. Please give me the option to not be upset that a good item is available for EU, if US will never get it, or visa versa.Additionally, website articles should have meta tags attached to them, that REQUIRE region prints to be attached, thus allowing that filtering system to work.
Another suggestion I would like to see, is ways to implement neat things that you have done on your account, and see THOSE on the front page of WOWHEAD. Similar to Steams player Homepage, where you can show off somethings. Maybe even one of those 4 boxes you have, could be a "Recently Achieved "X" section" Where it should show you an achievement/mount/pet etc, filtered by the user, and next to it, some nerdy information, such as Rarity chance, or even percentage of players who have it. Something like that. Some of us like nerdy things, and websites like DataForAzeroth.com and WoWThing.org offer neat things like that. I would love to see things like that implemented on this site. You guys have a ton of information, and with more people using the Wowhead Client, that would be even better to help get more detailed, instant information. Also, speaking of Wowhead Client, can we finally get that on CurseForge? It feels strange it's not there, when it's so simple. Maybe it's my ignorance on why it isn't there, but I feel like it should be there.
don't wanna pay money? Here have DIABLO FOUR NEWS!
Love the pins! I have several links bookmarked on my bookmarks bar for a guide for any achievements I am working on - now I can keep it on the main page and easily get there without all the browser clutter. Now if I could only block certain negative nancy commenters....ahh to dream :P
These are great new features! While you’re looking at some tinkering under the hood, can we please get light mode? I have astigmatism and I love this site to bits, but it hurts my eyes so much because of the light on dark text. Would be forever grateful!
I dig the pins. More advanced filters is a cool feature, I guess, but honestly I'll never understand why people can't just scroll past stuff they're not interested in. The existing filters were fine.Like if you don't care about RWF or housing or whatever, just... don't click? Nobody is forcing you to click on the article, read it, and then leave a nasty comment about how much you hate that content and how everyone who enjoys that content is <insert insult here>. You actively chose to spend your time and energy to do that, and you're mad about it.Bizarre.
I’d pay for premium if you kept an updated list of API and CVars for addon development that includes improving howcyourcdatabase stores model, spell, aura, textures IDs, and more.
I'll admit I'm sad the watermark removal thing is a subscription-only feature. I'm not well enough financially to take up any subscriptions. I make use of Wowhead's model viewer a lot for visual aids for organizing roleplay events for my guild, and it's a lot more immersive without the logo, so I waste a lot of time in Photoshop. So naturally, I'd prefer it falls into the Rare tier as an earned benefit. Perhaps some day.I'm sad about it, but I guess it's part of the effort to attract more paid users to reduce the ad burden on everyone. It sucks that they gotta bring actual good advancements of quality of life in, as paid exclusives. Hopefully eventually, as more novel features are added, this can bleed down to more regular active users.Edit: Just tossing this in as a wild suggestion. But it might be worth considering a middle path for certain features, in the future. Like, if it's a feature you don't want available to everyone, all of the time, you could consider giving folks a set number of charges of it over a time period, depending on subscriber level. That way you can retain benefits for subscribers, whilst not making them 100% exclusive. Won't work for everything, of course. But could work for something like, amount of screenshots you can save without background. As well things that end up taking some space on the servers as data to retain, for example.
so nothing for the addpocolypse that happens on my screen every time i come to the site... oh that if i leave the site open my game lags.
I've always loved the "what happening today" function at the top, by expansion, but I find it not always reliable (eg says a WQ is up but not when I log in, or doesnt have the stated reward) or what is available varies (back in old expansions where it would show rare timers etc). As a long term collector, the older expac stuff is still relevant to me. I'd love to be able to use it more reliably if that makes it onto your roadmap at some point. My other main grief is that I often use the Database/Tools menus but they are so expansive and dont react well on the website which means sometimes I cant see the content as its off screen (eg going Database > Zones you will see Continent, Expansions and the following menus become unreachable). I like using these menus because I might want to spend some time in one area and see what the raids are, dungeons, quests, vendors etc. Thanks
Very nice, and greatly appreciated, will play with setting this up to my interests. I hope that the WoW token graph is a pin-able item as I like to see how much gold I would get were I to buy a token.Keep up the good work. and Thank You!
As for feedback on general site stuff/what would be cool to see/what I think good premium incentives would be:For filters, a way to always see certain tags would be cool? As in, if there is a category I want to always see, even if it has something I filtered out in it. For example, if I always want to see interviews, even if they are about Mythic+.Having filters for classes would be cool too, particularly combined with the above. I may not want to see editorials... Unless they're about Paladin. This will be controversial, but. Adding the ability to filter authors is something I'd imagine there's an audience for. Idea for a premium feature: Select classes you play/like, and have the unselected classes automatically collapsed in articles with class sections such as changelogs/PTR/datamining. Scrolling past or clicking to minimize the classes I don't play to get to the ones I do isn't difficult, but having them already minimized in advance would be a nice perk. Could even have the option to do it by spec; I skim the changes to Frost and Blood, but typically skip Unholy, for instance. Another thing (but harder to implement I'd imagine) would be the option to reorder the classes altogether; again, scrolling down to Paladin isn't difficult, but having it at the top would be nice QOL. In terms of what would make the site better as a whole... Well, the comments are a cesspit that make Redditors seem polite and well adjusted, so... Now that the filter system exists, perhaps if someone only ever clicks on a thing to comment how much they hate that thing or how bad the articles about it are or how wowhead should stop writing about it... A way for mods/admins to toggle that filter on their behalf would be nice ;)
I have always been puzzled by the fact that choosing a region for the "today in wow" didn't translate into "let's not show this user promotions they cannot get", most notably obviously the chinese exclusive things, but also (as a EU resident) the US exclusive promotions. But better late than never I suppose, and why make a basic functionality when you can potentially make it the thing that force people to pay you money am I right!
Seems like this won't really move the needle .Finally, side note but I'm disappointed to not see a single article around Microsoft layoffs. It's quite relevant and the lack of an article is a statement in itself.
Gee...we traded Perculia and the minds that built this whole thing...for pins and filters...that no one asked for.
A good step forward. Would really appreciate specific filters for the e-sports and China stuff.
