Hmmm.. Is Sylvanas dead? Although it would be strange for her to leave a body, since she is a banshe and we're in Shadowlands.. also I did not expect that we won't be able to rescue Anduin to be honest. Of course I guess it still could happen in 9.2 patch. Interesting.@edit. Well, now that we have the whole scene my comment makes no sense. I guess what this could be is a vision of the conversation Sylvanas and Anduin had back where he told her "make your choice" so perhaps a revelation that Sylvanas and Anduin team up to secretly fight the Jailer?

I think that he’s still alive.Maybe we just can’t free him by using the compass? He solidifies as he walks away so he’s probably fine. Besides, if the comics are canon(which Blizz said they are), he’s alive “many, many, years from now”(Son of the Wolf).
So, just assuming he dies/turns completely to the dark side/whatever, does that mean that he essentially did nothing of value besides convincing Varian to spare the Horde after SoO? That would be pretty anticlimatic, because after all his character got build up since MoP and has probably the most development of any Alliance character (maybe tied with Jaina).
Blizzard will never kill their precious perfect golden boy. Golden wouldn't allow it. Besides it's probably a messege that he leaves as Jaina has a line where she says ''very clever anduin, what did you want us to see'' in the datamined VO.I want to know if they finished taking a dump on Sylv or not and if this was all for nothing.

Hm... If Anduin will be "gone" and Turalyon is ruling Alliance now on Azeroth, there is nothing holding him back to declare war against the horde and become Garrosh 2.0. And then after 2-3 expansions Anduin will come back as a old grandpa to rule again. - Ye, I know, kinda dumb and stupid, because I didn't want to write an essey, but it could do in my opinion.
Awesome. Been enjoying the characters and the lore for years and years. I often wish it came out a little faster or we could incorporate more stuff from the novels in-game. Big fan. <3
I hope that's Sylvanas's grave, and the one "good thing" she did before she died was give us a clue on how to possibly redeem Anduin. Hopefully we see some kind of memory play, making us believe there's some humanity left, and then he'll show up and be all "There's no Anduin left, blah blah blah". So of course in 9.2 even though it seems like he's beyond hope, he still has his Kylo Ren moment and he's pulled back from the dark side. That'd be pretty cool. It wouldn't be a true redemption of Sylvanas, but at least she had the chance to help make things right for at least one person and give him the chance to regain his free will. I think that would be a good ending. Giving Anduin the chance she never had. Again, not really a redemption (and thank goodness, Sylvanas shouldn't get a true redemption) but a way for her to end having done at least one good deed that can be respected. Who knows though, Blizzard has stolen defeat out of the hands of victory before.
