Yes, the event is taking away people from everything because it's a very helpful buff; however, pretty sure M+ would be declining heavily as well due to the announcement of the 3rd season.
Most players have finished any M+ push they wanted to accomplish. Only ones who may still be pushing are those trying in vane to get the Title. Once the 11.2/S3 news released.. players all but went on Vacation, taking a break before S3 Starts.
Finished my M+ goals awhile ago, so no reason to continue running. Can get champion track from 0s week one of 11.2 so no point in gearing alts anymore.
Next season's date was announced, and most of us have achieved what we wanted from M+. Taking our much deserved break.
I misread that article heading so badly thought it said "mounts taken away from players in mythic+" like there was a glitch or a consequence of the m+ leaver system. damn.
Oddly having farmed like mad before - I'm now hunting down mounts that have no buff associated with them having rinsed the goblin in the first week. M+ is simply on hold now.
Playing protection warr in M+ has been a pain this season. I want the KSH mount but being non meta absolutely impacts what groups I get accepted to
Hmm i don't think it's the mount event causing m+ decline, or maybe only very limited. These seasons just feel a month too long, even with this midseason powerbuff event we had now. By month 3 most people will have achieved the rating they want to achieve, even on alts and the dungeons start becoming boring to run. I think what Blizzard needs to do is cut the nonsense patches (like, the belt and the ring), just do 1 patch in between major ones instead of .5 AND .7. This way they could probably make seasons last a month shorter and keep player participation higher overall.
M+ fatigue and a long season. Rampant selling of boosts basically demolishing what little prestige title had left. Just wait till people see how overtuned season 3 dungeons are.
While I don't do any M+/Raids, I can testify that dozens if not hundreds of players are after mounts, especially the very difficult ones to drop. The entrance to the Firelands raid on my server is outrageous with no visible space where the floor would be. I earned the Smoldering Egg of Millagazor on Heroic this second week of the Mount Drop Increase event on my 4th of 6 toons. I had spent several months on another account, totally a few hundred attempts before it dropped.Players are very happy indeed to get this opportunity to get rare and hard to get drop-rate mounts. I'd only make one side note that it is too bad it was not present during the Love is in The Air time as that tiny window to get the X-45 Heartbreaker is by far too small.
Well It's not just the mount buff albeit that's a big part, but its also the timewalking event going on and goblins as well like it so bad to cram these three things into one month before the patch. time walking could've been done last month and the mount stuff back in may with maybe a longer time period on it. I do feel the mount buff should be more permanent. or do some bad luck protection, unless they plan to eventually remix each expansion and hand out the mounts that way.
The m+ season should have been ended by now. With the removal of the affix rotation, m+ is just not able to keep itself interesting for this long. ~half year seasons are anyway inexcusable, but this was only exacerbated by making m+ be a static bs for the full duration of the season. Replayabilty suffered a lot more than what little we won with having courtroom levels of justice that only really matters for the top 0.1% for their utterly pointless keys. Its now pretty much the same as raids always were, except it being more approachable which is why it still rules as an endgame content.
Oh no, anyway. Get boring goblin mount, or get dozens of cool legacy mounts - seems like an easy choice to me!
Correlation does not imply causation. You can’t prove it’s collectors bounty.
