the "it's just like 1984!" crowd incoming in 3, 2... nvm, they're here and the mods have their hands full
I mean.. This solves nothing. People will just duck around it by adding a period in between or something of that ilk. And we probably don't need a second profanity filter. There are already systems in place to get rid of awful people with trash attitudes. I guess it doesn't hurt, but it doesn't help. Was nice seeing the virtue signalers in the comments, though.
I don't like this, because this is an automated solution to a problem that thrives on working around automated solutions.I am all for doing something about people using those words - but let them use it in the first place. And then, when they use it, do something about them *then*. It could even just be an automatic system flag to alert a GM to look at the person ASAP. Don't even let them know they've been flagged. As long as there's some sort of human involvement.Using an automated system for this is just going to lead to more problems in the long run.Plus - what is to stop them from just simply deciding they don't like F-bombs and stop people from ever typing those? Completely arbitrary. And then they'll decide "oh we don't like people using Discord so we're going to censor Discord links and tell them to use the in-game chat which sucks."Slippery slippery slope.

blizzard loves artistic and speech censorship
it is sickening to see so many censorship apologist pretending to be good people
people will easily find a way to talk around those censored words... nothing will change.
so funny... if you don't use it, you are hardly affected...if I were Blizzard.. I would just suppress these messages silently.... no hint, no notice, nothing...
Disgusting censorship.
