Blizzard Was Teasing Us With The Cata Release Date All Along

Speaking to a small conglomerate of various Alliance representatives, Mekkatorque pointed out that the time to strike is now. After all, Thermaplugg has eluded death for years to keep his reign over Gnomeregan; and with the fall of the Lich King, the last great threat to the citizens of Azeroth, the chance of any cataclysmic event taking place in the foreseeable future is "less than 12.7%," Mekkatorque's leading combat medical advisor Doc Cogspin purported.

I think that's a good date. Gives us time to settle into the 4.0 changes, right?

well just a guess :P

hell yeah!

Uh... not to contradict or anything, but I ordered my copy through amazon for same day delivery, and they just emailed me the spoiler two days ago...
Saying it would be delivered January 4th.
Commence the confusion?

Comment by Ralphius

Of course of you take the "less than" literally, then it's before 12/7.

Awesome!

And to lend more credibility to this, December 7th also happens to be a Tuesday, which is when new games (along with music and movies on DVD) are released.

Would love to buy it when it's released, but I may just wait until Christmas so I can use my christmas money for it.

Edit: Also, Dec. 7th was the day that Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, US.
Probably not relevant, but also cataclysmic for those living there.

What better day for the aspect of Earth to tear it asunder?

oh so sly.

Thank you WoWHead. Now, if Cataclysm doesn't release on or before that date, you've just added to a mountain of complaints to the already overflowing complaints about Cataclysm. Bravo.

/endsarcasm

I think it'll be released before Black Friday myself, which would give a November 16th, 18th, or 23rd. Wrath of the Lich King was released on a Thursday, so that day is also open.

Given that the past pre-patches were released about a month and a half to two months from the expansions, and the end of Arena adds another two weeks to that date, which can put it around the dates I mentioned if the pre-patch comes next week or the week after. Granted, this is an estimate and I could very well be wrong.

Last thing, I really don't see them releasing Cataclysm, especially given the name, tones, and similarities, on the same day as a past tragedy.

Well played Blizzard... *slow clap*

In the real world it goes Day - Month - Year.

Considering Blizz is the one releasing the game, I'm pretty sure which date format to use, and considering they're an American company, I think it's obvious which format they're going to go for. ;-)

Comment by sutasafaia

Why are people getting into an argument about the date system? Really? What is this the Oboards?
