Objectively hilarious that they keep talking about all of these changes as if they had literally no other options or alternatives on the table and had a gun to their heads to make these changes happen and do so in such a terrible state that they now have to devote an abundance of resources and energy to fixing them and making them better.
All I'm ever hearing regarding the addon changes is "Let's make this more complicated for no good reason whatsoever." It's beyond stupid at this point.
Wow, it's almost like every addon maker has been screaming at you since the first batch of changes that this was just not production ready and shouldn't be shipped to the players until it had been adequately cooked. I desperately want to know who's holding the families of all the developers hostage, because they keep talking like they had absolutely no choice other than to go off half-ready.
Good to have some clear communication and seems like they have some ideas of where they can evolve things, it sounds like the version that exists now is good enough but they want to make something more sustainable and flexible for the future
There is zero reason to not be able to see hots and dots and buffs on your target. 9_9
No explanation from Blizzard, regardless of topic and/or context, should be taken with any degree of good faith, or effort to understand. This is proven by them with every update, every expansion, every patch, for years, even if what was said sounded "reasonable".
Can we address the BackDrop frame errors, that trigger like mad with any tooltip or such? Can spend 1-2 hours playing, and wind up with 25,000 errors in BugSack for this one error, because getting tooltip frame width in combat is a "secret value" apparently (and this doesn't even happen because of addons, it happens in the base Blizzard UI).
The fact they keep flopping around like a ragdoll every time these talk about addon changes, debuffs etc it makes me realize they're basically squirming from the amount of pushback people were giving them and how this wasn't even ready at all still, it's still lacking bunch of stuff they push it out anyways. They should start to wonder why people don't trust them in any big changes.
no sympathy, you sold the company to a board and get upset when the board sets a deadline? dont get me wrong i dont like it ether, but i didnt take a pay out before i complained about it.
Blizzard: We hate what addons are doing to raid design. We'll create private auras, that will fix it.Players: Private auras just made the game a lot worse. Stop it.Blizzard: We hate what addons are doing to the game's overall design. We'll drastically limit addons overall, instead of just for private auras.Players: That just made the game a lot worse. Stop it.Blizzard: We hate what addons are doing. Surely, third time will be the charm.
It's almost like everyone was saying that these addon changes weren't gonna be ready to ship in six months...squints...since six months ago.
The funniest part is they said the secret system was entirely ready and that is why they pushed for the drastic changes. Except it turns out it wasn't ready at all and now they blew up addons for no gain and made the game worse for everyone involved.
reminds me of that simpson seymour meme am i wrong? No its the X that are wrong
I have no sympathy whatsoever. You reap what you sow. Now you have to deal with it and I hope you'll receive a lot of complains from angry customers.
"Our plan didnt work and made things worse for everybody, including ourselves. We have no idea how to fix it but will definitely, maybe, figure it out at some point in the future. In the meantime we will continue to fumble our way through this because we rushed the initial plan and are now too deep to back track."
They should add support for TypeScript and then publish official types for their addon API IMO
The playerbase numbers already look quite dead for the begining of an expansion , dungeons even at M+0 provide true horror for everyone as there is nothing signaling for specific mechanic and there is extreme overbloat of dots , dispells and private auras just for the laughs and now imagine how horrid doing raids will be. The game feels completely blunt and unflavorful , new players will have extremely hard time adapting to the game as we had those notifications before which could kinda help them get used with it faster , now its going to be slow and painful process which noone will have enjoyment of doing. They tried to oversimplify classes to the point the game feels like a mobile game where you press 1 button and voila - you are successful player , skill no longer matter. Its truly a Midnight expansion , a midnight thats aiming towards the direction of dooming the game to its complete darkness.
