It's just a flash back.We got an animated short about the Nerubian Queen and Xal'atath, the main antagonists of 11.0.Now we're getting an animate short about the main protagonist of the season/expansion: Alleria. It's really not that deep lol.Would love an animated series on the Second War. Would be a bit of hype leading up to Midnight, the Third Invasion of Quel'thalas this time by the Void. I'm just not sold that Blizzard would invest the money into that for their first animated series.
It's going to be the next TWW short focused on Alleria, in a new animation style.
It's not out of the question that this could be a sequel to the Warcraft movie, where the movie dealt with the first war, and this, the second. The animation style is vastly different to what they've used for pre-expansion shorts in the past, which makes me lean away from thinking it could be another of those to follow on from Threads of Destiny.
I liked the extra background info because while I have been a WoW player for a long time, I'm not THAT balls deep in the lore.
I think it's a prep for a Netflix anime series. Netflix did amazing with the Warcraft Movie, and they have been spinning notable gaming franchises into very good anime series for the last several years. My prediction is for a several season series of anime revisiting the lore of WoW/Blizzard. <3
I believe it's a short for TWW but whatever. From the aspect of lore - the high elves were the badies? These "settlers" came to the burial grounds and the already occupied lands of the trolls. Sounds like the Elves were colonizers. Surely the arrogant xenophobic Elves thought less of the Amani for being "primitive" and "wild". Oh they allied with the Orcs (who are also refugees) and because they enslaved the red dragons they are the bad ones? This is the opportunity to tell a good story where everyone is somewhat bad and a victim. I don't like the faction war and play all kinds of characters but this war could be nice.
1980 called. It wants its animation style back.
It's nice to see more being put into WoW and focused on Warcraft. That is the flagship title. I'm sure I'm not the only who dreams of the day when there is no wasted time on Overwatch, Starcraft, or Diablo. Take all that extra money and extra employees and put it into WoW. We know what comes with every expansion. And I think we are at a point where they stopped wanting each expansion to be better than the last. Now its just a certain amount of content and a story and that is it. We have all these zones with huge open areas and many of these areas have no quests or just one quest. Then we have huge structures and settlements and all cool types of environments. When you get to these you are so excited. But then you realize there is 1-2 simple quests and that is it for that entire area. And you move on missing out on what could have been!I'd like to see more development for EVERY zone pre-TWW. Create new world quests for every single zone in the game (even if its just 10 that rotate with 2-3 a day showing up). And add a weekly event to each zone. Just doing something like that gives players fun stuff to do in each zone indefinitely! I will never see WoW as only the latest expansion. That is a severely limited view. The whole game is one super long amazing adventure. And we can go back to visit old areas anytime. Would be great to see MORE put into WoW with each expansion. Having a limit on what to include and never going past that is not going to help things, especially if TWW ends up being like Dragonflight.Dragonflight was an amazing expansion for the first year. But after that year, no new raids, no new pvp, no new anything - except a handful of short quests and two nonsense game modes that aren't even part of WoW. I really hope we don't get the same BS with TWW and that TWW, like Legion and BfA, bring a lot more to the WoW experience.
The artstyle is amazing! First time I've seen the Blood Elves look so good since Warbringers.
Looks good, imma elf 🧝♂️ at heart and have many "children" of Quel'Thalas so this is exciting.Never saw anything about the Windrunner dad, only mentions of the late mother and brother.
Brother, the OP link is covered by an ad by default lol
