Dialogue Between Greymane and Shaw on Dragonflight Alpha References Time Skip - Possible Scrapped Content?

WARNING: POSSIBLE DRAGONFLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD!

DISCLAIMER: This dialogue was witnessed by a character that had completed the Dragon Isles introduction questline on the build before the most recent Dragonflight Alpha build. Newly created characters that go through the introduction questline on the current build do not get to this dialogue, so this might be scrapped content never meant to reach the public.Turalyon talks about being cautions around dragonsShaw: King Greyamne, I thought you should know. Wrathion asked if there's been any word from--
Greymane: Anduin? He asked me the same question. Though their friendship has been strained, I know the king considers Wrathion an ally.
Shaw: Several years have passed since Azeroth's heroes returned from the realms of Death.
Shaw: In that time, I've followed up on countless leads. Reports that the king was sighted here or there. None of them have been proven true.
Greymane: I do not think that we will find Anduin until he wishes to be found. That may take some time.
Shaw: Turalyon is popular with the nobles, and he's a natural leader to our soldiers. But the people of Stormwind miss their king.
Greymane: The best thing that any of us can do is give Anduin the time he needs. And to be here for whenever he comes home.

This has to be old dialogue because if not....lmaoComment by mremaknuHoping it was just stuff left in before a lot of staff left or were removed; it causes too many continuity issues with the state of Stormwind alone, nevermind all the other hanging plot threads that it makes no sense to keep lingering on for years afterward.

It *would* be cool to find out our characters and the world at large got a frickin' breather for once, and it would have some interesting ramifications for RPers as well as the game's own lore, but... eh, Iunno. They had better bring Anduin back soon though. Also curious as to whether Jaina plays a role in Anduin being missing, I mean, she must have to, right? You would also think that by now (Since it's been years since shadowlands apparently) she, Khadgar, all the mages of Stormwind would have conjured up a spell to find him. So either Anduin suddenly became a powerful mage to hide, or the mages of Azeroth aren't that imaginative.Comment by AveraxTime skip is a strong word for this. It's just the advancement of time. That does not necessarily mean anything regarding the time in the realms of death. You can easily argue that time DID pass during Shadowlands and such there was a time skip somewhere alone when BFA ended and we left Ice Crown. There is just not enough context and or all the complete information to say otherwise.

That said I agree in the 2+ year's things didn't change more in Azeroth or it's characters but it isn't all complete and there is likely content still be edited and changed during the course of the alpha. All interesting but I wouldn't expect this to strictly be in game and or if so without further context being presented in the story - likely Pre-patch content if not just in text/game cinematic.Comment by LoadingScreenTime skip is a strong word for this. Enough time has passed between now and TBC to the point where the children's week kids are now young adults.afterwhileinComment by RodrigoLeafI think that the way to understand the "several" in here is that, while the heroes and the characters that traveled to the Shadowlands spent a year or two there (the normal expansion time), on Azeroth the time moved faster, and perhaps 5 or more years passed there.

So, while for us Anduin maybe started his vacations recently, for the people in Azeroth it's been years since he's gone.

(Also, save the "Tyrande did nothing in X many years" comments, because she was part of the crew and JUST returned Azeroth with the seed. If you want to blame someone for the homeless situation, blame Malfurion that was on Azeroth acting as the leader xDDDDDD)Comment by SilentSpyTime skip is a strong word for this. Even the devs in interviews have confirmed as much. Dialogue will always change.Comment by pawpurrSomething people need to consider is that quest text is not like perfectly controlled from on high.. Quest devs seem to have a lot of freedom especially on their first iterations. It seems like someone comes after with a continuity comb to fix things. This quest text even has typos and stuff, so feels like someone did a demo but then their boss had them re-write it, or something. I don't see it as a hard commitment at all.

Even without a defined "time skip", usually time is linear to the real world so we'd have had our 2 years pass, and presumably another 2 by the end of DF.
