Once again another city I don't think was designed to well. It's a airly long run to get to the blacksmithing area etc. But it is home to Thrall and if Illegal Danish has shown us anything it's that the Horde throws the best parties.

For Alliance:
Do not attempt to go here, unless you're willing to kill Thrall.
If you are coming here for the instance, it's a waste of time. If you are able to survive the gaurds and players all the way to the instance, you'll probably a high lvl which means that the instance is of no use to you. It is the lowest lvl instance in the game.

There's a zeppelin outside of Orgrimmar city toward the east that leads to Tirisfal Glades (Undercity) or Stranglethorn Vale (Grom'gol).

The south ramp leads to Tirisfal Glades; the north ramp leads to STV.

if you are blood elf and want to travel to orgramar there is zeppelin near brill in Tirisfal Glades.If you are in Silvermoon there is transportation orb in sunfury spire that goes to U ndercity

This is one of the Horde capital cities, who originally belonged to Orcs and now both Orcs and trolls share the city. It is located in Northern durotar, and you can take multiple zeppelins to the city entrance. One leads to Tirisfal Glades, and the other leads to Stranglethorn Vale. I do agree with Volcan, Warsong Hold is Borean Tundra is far more epic and worked on then Orgrimmar, lol, and if they could redo Orgrimmar to make it more interesting than it already is, that would be very schweet.

There is also a zeppelin tower leading to Northrend (Warsong Hold) to the right as you exit Orgrimmar through the main entrance. A zeppelin will be added in patch 3.2.0 leading to Thunder Bluff.

This is the capital city of Durotar. It houses the orcs and the trolls, who fled from their homeland.

It is the home of Thrall, leader of the orcs and the Warchief of the Horde. It can be entered via two gates - one leading the the northern Barrens and the other leading to northern Durotar. The zeppelins outside can take you to one of 3 places (4 in 3.2). The east tower can take you to the Undercity or Stranglethorn Vale, both in the Eastern Kingdoms. The west tower will take you to Warsong Hold in Borean Tundra, Northrend. In 3.2, a new zeppelin will be added that can ferry players to Thunder Bluff and back, therefore linking all of the cities.

For Allies trying to raid this place (or get in for some sort of world event), the back gate (west) is reccommended. Most of the players (and there are plenty) in Orgrimmar spend their time in the Auction House or Bank, which is in the front part of Orgrimmar. The back road from the back gate to Thrall's chamber is guarded by a few guards, but almost no players venture back there.

Orgrimmar is named after Orgrim Doomhammer.

I was fishing after Old Crafty for the acheivement: Old Crafty, in Orgrimmar and here is what i got before it:

I started at 142 fishing skill and reached 228 when i got the fish.

After 100 fishes i had:
70 Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper
18 Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish
12 Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish

After 200 fishes i had:
125 Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper
49 Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish
25 Raw Brilliant Smallfish
1 17 Pound Catfish

After 300 fishes i had:
185 Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper
49 Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish
32 Raw Brilliant Smallfish
1 17 Pound Catfish
1 19 Pound Catfish

And finally after 369 fishes i got Old crafty as number 370!

Also its named after the HammerFall, a heavy metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden.

Sam "Samwise" Didier is the art director at Blizzard Entertainment.

Away from Blizzard, Samwise is responsible for much of the album art of Swedish power metal band HammerFall.

The name Hammerfall is taken from the Swedish power metal band with the same name. Blizzard employee Samwise Didier has painted several covers for the band so it is likely to be a tribute to the band as well as to Doomhammer.

In Cataclysm the cleft of shadow get's it's own map and I think it is underground now with land above it. The land above the cleft of shadow might have the flight master because if you look at the orgrimmar map where the cleft of shadow is under their is a shoe with wings, the flight path icon.

Orgrimmar is the most busy Horde city, its almost always packed has almost all class trainers except druid and maybe 1 or 2 more

There's a way under Orgrimmar. What you do is that you go to the Hunter training area in the Valley of Honor. Then you aim yourself to jump onto the wall of it. Keep going until you see a two sticks holding a banner of some kind. Walk all the way to the very end of the one on the right and mount up on your mount (works best with Epic).

Aim yourself at the rooftop close to it. Jump (it may take a while to get it right). Then all you need to do is jump over the wall and you fall to Under Orgrimmar. The only way I can find a way out other than Hearthstone is when you walk to the entrance, you can jump through the wall in the tunnel and land on one of the slabs.

There is a little Glitch in Orgrimmar, right at the PvP gear vendors. The tall chair by the Conquest vendors is currently bugged. If you play with the setting 'Click to Move' turned on, and you stand next to the chair and click on it, it will move you about 2-3 yards towards the vendors, and then you'll drop under the floor of Orgrimmar and you can do some exploring there :P Nothing special, just thought like sharing it :)

As of patch 4.+, all the zepplins that were once located outside of Orgrimmar, are now located inside.

Gamon has been buffed to ridiculous levels.

And the new Warchief, Garrosh Hellscream, resides in the front of orgrimmar, near the first Auction House.

Any Alliance players stupid enough to attack the main hunter trainers(in the Valley of Honor) will get a nasty surprise from all the stabled hunter pets in back of the building. They'd be even stupider to attack the riding trainer, pet trainer, and/or worg mount vendor as they are all right in the middle of all the pets.

The zeppelin traffic looks like this as of 17th Dec 2011:

The times below are the time required for the zeppelin to return from the other end. So if you miss a zepp, this is how long you have to wait till your ride arrives:

Orgrimmar - UC: 3 min 12 secs
Orgrimmar - Grom'Gol: 3 min 05 secs
Orgrimmar - Warsong Hold: 3 min 57 secs

The round to TB is the longest, and the times are separated for the one-way trips:

Orgrimmar - TB: 3 min 51 secs
TB - Orgrimmar: 4 min 02 secs.

The zepp always waits for 1 minute before setting out (that's included in the UC and Grom'Gol routes). So it takes approximately 8 min 55 secs for the TB ride to show up again in Orgrimmar.

On wyvernback the times are the following:

Orgrimmar - TB: 3 min 46 secs
TB - Orgrimmar: 3 min 33 secs

Helpful Hint about Zeppelins:

Upon a Zeppelin's Arrival, when the according goblin yells "The zeppelin to <zone> has arrived!" you have exactly ONE minute before the zeppelin departs to its destination. Good luck! :)

When I first heard of Orgrimmar, I, like so many others, assumed I would be treated to nothing more than a few ramshackle huts cloaked in animal skins, maybe a stone building or two to armor the more strategic locations. What I was treated with upon arrival was something so much better.

Firstly, the rustic charm of Orgrimmar really endears itself to you in a way that the more modern and conventional architecture found in Stormwind just cannot compare to. There is a very primal feel to the city, obviously inspired by its occupants' tribal communities from Draenor. Animal skins stretched taut by wooden struts ARE the primary form of material, but this only adds to the appeal and truly reflects the innermost core of its native citizens. Though more vulnerable to destruction than Stormwind's masonry, Orgrimmar would be far more easily rebuilt than that of her rival city, and less likely to run into resulting problems due to reconstruction mishaps. (See: Defias Rebellion.)

As the heart of the Horde, Orgrimmar is swollen with adventurers of all member races, each with their own fascinating stories and trophies (if one can convince one of these heroes to share, of course). All the usual amnesties are present as a result, allowing one to take a lovely day trip strolling through the Valley of Strength to observe the chaos of an auction house before visiting the Valley of Honor to witness the training of the next generation of soldiers and heroes of the Horde.

Orgrimmar is also a major cultural hotspot for the Horde, as should be expected of her capital. Monuments dedicated to integral historic moments dot the city, the most prominent being the Armor of Mannoroth that stands as a reminder of both the orcs' enslavement and the sacrifice of Grommash Hellscream.

Mostly, the city is free of crime and strife, its guards toting experience and a degree of professionalism unparalleled by almost any other city of similar magnitude to Orgrimmar. Of course, there are the occasional problems that result in any heavily populated area, but these are almost always quickly and efficiently dealt with before they can escalate into anything of dire importance. There are a few lapses in this security, such as the long-lived and infamous Gamon Incident that has only recently been properly attended to.

It goes without saying that each and every proud member of the Horde should make it their duty to sojourn to this glorious capital at least once in their lifetime, orcs especially. The heart of the Horde, Orgrimmar successfully embodies those characteristics which define the Red Faction: Strength and Honor.

Getting to Orgrimmar

As an Orc or Troll - Travel directly north from the starting areas of The Den and Sen'jin Village, past Razor Hill, and you'll come to Orgrimmar in no time. Remember to talk to the Innkeeper at Razor Hill or Sen'jin Village so that you can return quickly and easily.

As a Tauren - Travelling to Orgrimmar is an arduous journey, and shouldn't be attempted until the teens due to the dangerous creatures along the Barrens road from Camp Taurajo First, make sure you've spoken with the Flight Master atop the central totem in Thunder Bluff (to simplify the return trip). Travel southwest through Mulgore and take the road to the Barrens. You'll come to Camp Taurajo; speak to the Flight Master here (though you won't have reason to return again until the mid-teens). Tread carefully northwards to the Crossroads, where you can pick up a handfull of quests and speak to a Flight Master as well. Exit Crossroads heading north, but take the eastward road when you come to the "T". You'll cross a river and enter Durotar; almost there! When you reach Razor Hill, head northwards to Orgrimmar.

As Undead - Travel eastwards from Deathknell, past Brill, to the entrance of Undercity (the Ruins of Lordaeron). Once you have spoken with the Undercity Flight Master (into the ruins, down the elevator, and along the topmost ring of the first area you come to), before Lordaeron / Undercity you'll find the zeppelin tower. Make sure you choose the correct loading platform (it's the one with a small flight of separate steps on the outside of the building - check with the goblin on the platform if you forget which is which!). You may have to wait a few minutes for the zeppelin; just jump on when it comes. It's a quick ~3 minute ride to Orgrimmar. When you arrive, it's just a westward hop, skip, and a jump to Orgrimmar's gates.

Class vendors / suppliers, such as poison venders for rogues and tailoring suppliers for tailers, are located with the class trainer
A much easier way to find your way around town is to talk with the guards, the Orgrimmar Grunts. They'll mark many popular locations right on your minimap and full map, and point you the way. However, note the reagent vendor and orcish mount (wolf) vendor. These are two sought-after locations that you can't ascertain from a guard. (Troll mounts can be found at Sen'jin Village in southern Durotar.)

Quests
The following are quests that begin in Orgrimmar and require no specific class nor only prequisite quest completions. This is a simplified listing, i.e. Jarkal's 7-part Uldaman quest begins with "Necklace Recovery" and branches into quests like "Translating the Journal," "Find the Gems and the Power Source" etc. but only "Necklace Recovery" and the final reward is listed for simplicity's sake.

I just saw a 70 Warlock inside the Ring of Valor... past the invisible walls. He told me that you can get in through Azshara, but I looked forever and couldn't find what he was talking about. I even tried getting to the top of The Forlorn Ridge (since the maps says there is a cave in the middle) but it was impossible.

Can anyone tell me how to get into the Ring of Valor? Or if he used a spell?

Has anyone else been to "Empty Orgrimmar"? It's a ton of fun. I'm not sure if they have patched it up by now but here's how you do it. You see the mickey mouse face above me? Jump onto the wall and run it's length. Then take the long wooden pole up and jump off of it onto the building roof near the waterfall. once up there, go up to the wall of orgrimmar. Jump over a part of this wall and into an empty, red orange zone. There will be a large pit in front of you. This is RFC. You must land exactly inside of RFC or you will have to hearth out of the pit. Use an elixir of dream vision to see where to land, because although it LOOKS empty, a few spots will cause you to go through the ground into RFC, and the rest will leave you in the pit. eye of kilrogg works well here. If you land there in RFC, walk towards the exit portal and as soon as you see "loading" you are back inside "Real orgrimmar", but here's the twist. You're still in RFC, just a few feet behind the instance portal. People can see you but they can't GET to you without zoning in, and if they zone, they'll be in their own copy of the dungeon. It's a twilight zone area.

If you DON'T want to go to RFC, walk around the large desolate area. You'll find a bridge of land leading out of the main gate of orgrimmar, and beside the bridge is a wall. You can go out THROUGH those walls, and anyone outside will see you run through the wall and end up in durotar. This will put you bac in the "Real World"

Make sure you're hearth is off CD, and you should have a healer. Jumping off the ledge to get onto the building roof is difficult, and you will often fall onto the rocks and take a lot of damage. Good Luck!

ive been to empty orgirmmar my cousing told me how to do it pretty cool. was laos wondering how an alli got on top of orgrimmas i used eagle eye (hunter spell) and looked behind him it empty org but there a giant wall to climb and its immpossbiel to climb anyone know how he got up there?

These NPCs will still be able to sapped and otherwise crowd-controlled as before, but following this hotfix these effects should no longer prevent the event from playing out and the buff from being applied. Please note that the opposing faction can still attack and kill these NPCs after the quest is turned in but before the dialogue completes and this will interrupt the buff going out. This behavior is correct and has been preserved.
