Blizzard's intention is to have a different AoE ability for each warlock tree - Affliction, Demonology and Destruction, will be using Seed of Corruption, Hellfire and Rain of Fire respectively, which is why each of the trees are getting at least one talent to significantly buff up their respective AoE.

I'd say the sheer potential of having Corruption on all your targets makes this talent worthwhile if you know you'll be AoEing at least once in a while.

I honestly can't think of a better way to give a DoT-based spec a signature AoE.

I love this talent!

I think we can all agree that the affliction warlock's primary trouble is crappy AoE.

When you add in that it refunds the soul shard, this may just be the greatest talent ever.

But i do think that blizz may have to take out that siphon life thing. If there are a lot of adds with high health, it would make you (effectively) invulnerable.

Well, im a bit unsure about this for aoe. It looks very nice indeed, but if every SoC refreshes the Corruption on each target, they wouldnt reach to tick if u spam SoC.

So would the plan simply be to cast 1 SoC once in a while and let the corruptions tick?
In my head SoC's popping every second would be better dps, even for affliction if you have everlasting affliction, which you ofc. do :P

Wouldn't this sorta discourage SoC-spamming, seeing as it still will overwrite the corruption dots from the soulburned SoC?

I guess it's still nice to have a dot on every target you're not spamming SoC on, though.

Interesting to note: the soulburn rider seems to be a separate effect from the seed of corruption. I've been a bit hasty in spamming SoC and have overwritten the first one (the one with soulburn added in) before it popped. When the second one, which didn't have soulburn, popped, I got the soul shard back and corruption was added to everything else.

Does anyone know how this functions with soul swapped(glyphed)

For instance:
You have 2 soul shards left
you cast soul burn, (1 shard left)
you cast seed of corruption
you inhale it with soulswap(glyphed)
you exhale it onto a new target
your first seed of corruption explodes returning a shard (2 shards left)
your second (copied) seed of corruption explodes returning your 3rd shard and possibly spreading more corruptions (3 shards)

would be an interesting combination
