Heals for about 20K each tick when soloing in iLvL 400 resto gear
Base heal: 9k
SP coefficient: 95%
Can crit
Its affected by haste meaning it has the caps similar to Healing Rain for a 6st tick.
25 ticks, 20K each+crits, totals for about 550K healing done @ lvl 85
30 ticks, 20K each+crits, totals for about 680K healing done @ lvl 85
Not affected by mastery ATM beta
(blue told this was a bug)

Totemic version of
Divine Hymn
(has no HOT component like
Tranquility
).
I have to say if this talent stays as it is when mists finally hits live I will be a very happy resto shaman: 2 emergency cds - this and
Spirit link totem
; and both can be resetted with
Call of the Elements
and both can be used about 3 times in a 6 min long boss fight if timed good.
Note: though this ability seems to be initially weaker than Divine Hymn don't forget about
Purification
's totem heal increasing component with wich this totem will be on paar with Divine Hymn.

For Elemental and Enhancement, this talent is not nearly as good as it is for Restoration. Without the specialization bonuses and mastery that Resto has, HTT is fairly impotent.
In a solo scheme as Enhancement, where you are the only beneficiary of HTT's heals, you'll only receive about as much healing from it over its entire duration as you would from a single Healing Surge (with Glyph of Healing Storm).
This talent seems to have been designed purely with Restoration in mind, rather than as utility for all three specs.

Very potent for Resto shaman. In 5-man dungeons it basically resets everybody's health back to full. In raid scenarios, where its smart-heal will not go to waste it's even better. It's like having another healer joining you for a few seconds. A healer with tons of haste.
I would pick this over
Conductivity
any time.
Just make sure you put it close to the party members.

It says 'within 40 yards'. Is that '40 yards from the totem', so an area 80 yards across, so: (---40---T---40---) or a 40 yard area, (-20-T-20)?

wish they made this stronger for ele and enhance i used it for a bit but the massive decrease in healing from guidence made me switch back. as much as i like using totems this one is just crappy for dps shamans

There is a known bug Affecting the behavior of HTT and HST Regarding haste. It Appears That HTT and HST will gain or lose a tick in. Their haste breakpoints due to latency issues and might randomly award another tick at arbitrary haste levels. The second party has suffered the resto community to believe That the haste breakpoints are wrong Which is not the case. For all intent and Purposes Haste the section and its theorycrafting will Reflect the Intended behavior of bothering Of These abilities.
Personal observation (special thanks to Mimu for his Valuable help) have Proved the Following. For more detailed information, and the observed results refer to the discussion at
# 69
. In short:
First HST and HTT breakpoints are correct however if you have above 50 World latency chances are That You are going to lose a tick if you are very close to your haste breakpoint thwart more than not.
2nd HTT breakpoints in practice will, to some Extent, follow Healing Rains breakpoints. Note That bothering totems will not follow spell haste breakpoint calculation methods due to Their fixed duration, so there is no need for time adjustment in the formula (special thanks to Binkestein for his help on that). This Means That eventhough HTT Appears to almost coincide with HR breakpoints, by no means Their formulas are the same.
As a final note. With the latency issues all of HTT and HST breakpoints are fluid and very unreliable.
Just because you hit a haste breakpoint you are not guaranteed an extra tick. It is not there present recommended to aim for These soft haste caps. For more information on how to reforge do read on. For in-depth explanation refer to

How to reforge Haste
Since HST and HTT Extra ticks are for the most part dependent on your latency Their first break point of 3764 (3306 for goblins) is greatly devalued. Aim for as low as 871 (441 for goblins) as you can. For this exact reason

Depending on your Percentage of RT usage, When 5676 (5199 for goblins) Becomes easy to Attain, you might want to reforge to it Although it is not recommended since That One extra tick of the HoT portion will not make up for the loss of the throughput the other secondary stats would bring. At 7613 (7116 for goblins) HR gets an extra tick. In a situation where you're stuck at a high level of haste, it can be beneficial to go for that haste breakpoint, however, the throughput gained excellant gene rally not make up for the lost secondaries in other state, Specifically crit and mastery. Refer to Secondary Stats Priority and Reforging section of this guide for Further information on Mastery vs. Crit. As a rule of thumb, Consider Reforging to haste Only When you are very close to the haste breakpoint and you can not reforge out of it.

For Elemental and (especially) Enhancement shamans this HTT is generally much weaker in PvE than the Ancestral Guidance talent - not only because of lower spell power (in case of enha) but also because only Resto has a talent that greatly boosts the power of all healing totems.
It also costs a Global Cooldown to be used, which further makes it less viable for the 2 DPS specs (as far as PvE goes).

we wanted to let you know about a couple changes we’re going to try out for Healing Tide Totem.
First, it’s
no longer a talent
. Healing Tide Totem is
now baseline
, available to all three Shaman specs. As you’re all aware, it’s an extremely useful ability, which makes it difficult for us to provide alternative options in that talent tier. Giving Healing Tide to everyone not only lets us work on
making that tier more interesting
, but it also makes sure
no one is missing out
on one of Resto’s more powerful tools by selecting the “wrong” talent.
Second, now that Healing Tide is a baseline ability, we feel it’s acceptable to give it a similar treatment to Tranquility or Divine Hymn in 25-man raids. It will now
heal up to 12 targets when in a 25-player
raid instance (and
remains at 5 targets in other content
).

No info yet on what will be replacing it on the talent tree, we will likely see a few PTR patches down the line.
New Shaman talent:
Rushing Streams
. Your Healing Stream Totem now heals two targets at once for 15% additional healing.
